Reading, and thinking a bit...

[Wren]

Wren sighed as she kicked up her feet. The library was quiet and empty, a feature which, surprisingly, the Goddess did enjoy from time to time. She leaned back in the soft leather chair and opened a book of folklore from the 'human' section of the library. They had such funny notions mortals did, and even the child-like goddess found them a bit childish for their own good.

She read about heroes and wars, of dragons and serpents with many heads. Eventually she came across the mythical metal that she and Kalan had gone out to save. But it was under another name and appeared to be thought purely just a myth. The only thing that this metal was based upon was a piece found a very long time ago...before she was born...and they assumed it must have come from another world. "It would be nice though," she sighed to herself as she chuckled at teh simplicity of the mortals. "To see other worlds...i wonder if there are any other than the Mirror Realm, beyond the Golden Mist..." she sighed as her eyes dropped down and she fell into a light sleep.

[Kalan]

Kalan stepped into the Library and looked around; finally spotting Wren, he approached her and woke her gently.

"I'm going to be leaving on a seabound voyage shortly; while I'm gone, I want you to run things. I'm not giving this to you to overwhelm you, but because I think the experience would prove useful for anyone; also, I want to see how you fare. If you do well, the position will be permanent - not the title, but the position. I plan to obtain as much information about this world as I can, and eventually return to my own world to protect both realms; for the time being, however, I need someone to help me - and I think you're the right person for the job."

[Wren]

Wren yawned as she listened to what Kalan had to say and let out a small squeak. "Are you tyruly sure?" she asked. "How long will you be gone Master Kalan?" she asked shutting her book with a snap. Her face flushed red as she remembered that Tornin scolded her all the time for asking such things. "It's just that I...uh...was going to plan a party." she lied. "And I want to know when you'll be back so that I can take care of the details, is all..." she mumbled.

Ick, what a horrible lie, if he had any sense (which she was sure he did) he would see right through it and she's be in trouble again..."You know what?" she asked suddenly with a sigh. "Don't worry about it, just have a nice journey," she said rising from her chair and walking to an open windo so the cool breeze could lavish her face.[/
