We have been asked about the site quite a few times so the story of it is being put up here.

The Killorglin Fire & Rescue website was thought up in 2006 as a way to promote fire safety in the locality.

The crew had no budget with which to build a site and after a lot of work one of the crew came up with a way to launch a fully functional website within our budgetary constraints, which was zero. We finally succeeded in launching the website in late 2006.

Through out the years the Killorglin Fire & Rescue website has become a hub site for numerous Irish (and beyond) fire fighters. In 2008 we were the top fire department run website in the world (firefighting top 100) and according to figures from browsers (Google,Yahoo) we are the most "hit" Irish Fire Station website for the last two years.

We still run the website at no budget apart from the cost of the .com web address which is met by the crew. We would like to thank everyone who visits the site, especially the regulars
