Title: Monstrous Arcana : Kanopic Titan

Mioumboy - January 17, 2012 08:43 AM (GMT)
So you might know that Forgeworld is creating a book that goes along the patern of Storm of Magic, loaded with monsters for people to take via scroll of binding, the Monstrous Arcana.

And today I accidentally stumbled into old information (from last november) wich showed a bunch of artwork of upcomming stuff for that book. I though I had seen all the pictures lready, but I guess I missed one

And I think it might interest you, because Forgeworld working on a Tomb King monster is kinda exciting to me, you know, seeing the army being suported outside of the army book release :P

Anyway, here's the artwork showing the Kanopic Titan.
(took from Warseer's Monstrous Arcana topic, wich you can go read for info on the book)

now thats a big beetle..... im sure its gonna fit well in my army

Disc10 - January 17, 2012 10:18 AM (GMT)
If that gets turned into a model, it's going to look STUNNING. I want one! XD

Sleboda - January 19, 2012 10:44 PM (GMT)
I am glad to see them doing stuff, but if optional, never gonna get used, type stuff from FW sees the light of day before the Titan and the Colossus with weapon options kits, I'm going to cry tears of pure rage.

I mean, geeze, sell me something I can actually _play_ with before you move on to models that are just pretty.

I know Sleboda's penchant for literalism on the table, but I'd have no problem with someone using this giant bug model with the colossus rules.

Big stompy combat construct fitting both the visual and fluff themes of most TK armies, great! Looks good enough to make up for the overall uselessness of the colossus' rules: run it with some Ushabti to complete the "looks good but doesn't do much" wing of your army.

Ok, now that's just funny!

I may have to design the "All Pretty, All Useless" army for a tournament sometime.

You already know that GW and FW are different branch, FW won't wait to release something if it's ready just because there's a unit still missing from the book :P They don't hold the responsability for the "no giant" situation

Tomb Kings look to be on par with Beastmen for support when it comes to GW, and look how long it took them to get their rare choices. We might be lucky and get get our Titan by the end of the year :)

Malisteen - January 21, 2012 02:53 PM (GMT)
Likewise, if GW has plans for a Titan/Heirotitan kit at some point for the future, even if they're not at all sure when they're going to get around to it, FW might not be allowed to make it themselves.

Disc10 - January 21, 2012 11:24 PM (GMT)
FW is only GW in that they're owned by them, otherwise they seem to do their own thing. Getting angry because they're not releasing a kit for the army book is silly, because they've never done that as far as I'm aware. :P

Poseidon_II_ - January 26, 2012 11:21 AM (GMT)
Wow I MUST get that model.... I love the egyptian bugs, scorpions and scarabs. I always knew it was just a matter of time befor either GW or FW would make a scarab model. And that concept art is so damn awsome! Just hope it's not to huge... Im running out of space in my warhammer case =P

ChankTheLank - February 3, 2012 04:12 AM (GMT)
Exciting news, even if it looks a little too Necron/futuristic for my taste.

I'll probably convert something gigantic to use its rules with!

Disc10 - February 3, 2012 02:21 PM (GMT)
I just realised, I think that's a map of the warhammer world on the carapace. :P

You may be right. Perhaps a map of the territory once held durring Settra's rule?

Imagine Settra bringing one of these into battle with the "soon to be conquered" land already marked as his.

Good eyes, Disc10, that's definitely a map. Is it just me or does it look kinda like it opens up from a globe, Transformers style? If so, I'm not sure if I think that's incredibly cool or unbelievably lame.

Do we KNOW if there will be a model???

Veritas - March 28, 2012 04:34 PM (GMT)
Filling in the blanks:

Curse of the Fallen - (selected from the closest first, with the fallen Khemric Titan's player picking which if units are at equal distances)

"Breath of Night" - It also ends the close combat phase.

Devouring Jaws - Also is a magical attack.

Yamabushi - March 28, 2012 04:37 PM (GMT)

apparently they will have released all 32 monsters by the end of the year

athoha - March 29, 2012 05:34 AM (GMT)
32 monsters in total, wouldn't that result in 2 monsters per army. that would be really nice.

J.J. - March 30, 2012 08:56 PM (GMT)
Very nice. Devouring Jaws is kind of a$$ but the rest is spiffy. I like what they've done with the random attacks and bound spells. Seeing the larger picture, I stand by my previous statement that it opens up from a globe a la Transformers. Still can't decide if I think that's cool or not.
