I'm playing against a Lizard man player this weekend who always fields 3 units. it's always a hoard of saurus warriors, a hoard of TG and large unit of chameleon skinks. I kind of want to come and plop down just 3 units of my own against him. Here's the list i'm thinking about.

100 archers FC I guess deployed 10x10 khalida and HLP here
Special 1087
39 TG FC halbards TP here
40 TG FC halbards TP here
the plan would be to deploy the TG on either side of the archers. put the characters at opposite ends of the unit, and deploy the archers 1/2" back from the TG. he always runs his units in hoard formation so he wont be able to get between the TG to hit the archers.
I should probobly make the archers 2 units of 50 but i think there's going to be something grand about dropping a block that size. I need to have them on the movement trays in advance though.

Also, maybe drop one TG from the 40 block for some armour or something on your Princes.

lol youre going to faceroll this lizzie player, 100 archers with khalida will make very short work of the chameleon skinks, and the 2 units of TG will mow right through the temple guard and saurus warriors.
keep your archers in one massive unit, however i would just go ahead and deploy your archers 50x2, might as well get all of your shots off.

100 poisoned shots is serious overkill against skinks. Assuming all can shoot, that's 35-40 wounds, and who brings that large units of skinks? If he has 4 units of skinks, it will take 4 turns just to take them out, and not a single saurus will be arrow-hurt.
I recommend 2 units of 50, since they, unbuffed, can score 11 wounds on skinks. Khalida's archers can then focus on taking out tougher adversaries. Maybe even several small units and only one bigger, but that would stray from the concept, I guess.

he runs 1 unit of 10 skinks every time. I don't think his army list has changed since 8th came out.
he runs a tricked out frog in the temple guard, a scar vet in the temple guard and in the saurus warriors. his win rate isn't great but it's still over 70% against most armies.
he just uses life magic to buff his saurus then beats face with them. uses the skinks to kill monsters and warmachines uses the temple guard to mop up

Like it's been mentioned the big unit of archers will wipe out the skinks in a turn but it seems a bit overkill.

If you are going to split up the archers, i wouldnt do it 50 50, i woul do 30 70 instead so more can benefit from khalida, while still having more then enough to deal with the skinks.

I would agree with splitting the archers, 60-40 or 70-30. Noticing the halberds on the TG, always thought doing that was pointless because they already have killer blow and they would lose their parry. But how are they doing?
