Description: expections?
markpieter - April 12, 2005 07:43 AM (GMT)
Just seen the new glade guard models
Glade guardAnd i think the army will be far better then the older one. They promised to do it darker, and now the Glade guard look more look waywatcher (and they are cool)
What are your expecitions?
dchustler - April 12, 2005 03:12 PM (GMT)
OMG! I am in love!
Here's a link to another shot of them (a close up) :)
Wood elf
zephyro - April 12, 2005 05:18 PM (GMT)
Yeah, they really are lovely.
I hear a lot of people say that they think the stitches are too big, and the face masks are stupid.
I myself really like the face masks, as it makes them ''darker'' IMO.( and it looks cool)
The stitches look really good IMO, except on the last model.(look at dakkadakka pics)

Where did you taked that image? I went to the games workshop site in uk and there is a acrobat reader there to download so we can also see the new army list of Wood Elves but when I download it, I tried to open, and it gived me errors.. Did someone tried also to download and open that file? ;)
markpieter - April 13, 2005 02:45 PM (GMT)
I got it from the news section in the uk site.
The WE army list worked fine for me(the downloading then), but it isn't very recent any more.
Darlan Deathscythe - April 13, 2005 02:55 PM (GMT)
That .pdf was the list from the Ravening Hordes.. Possibly two years old already, so not up to date..

markpieter - April 14, 2005 12:54 PM (GMT)
And what about armies? Is somebody of you really going to collect them?
I think i wait for the chaos dwarfs and the rest of the WE
Dragua - April 14, 2005 02:21 PM (GMT)
Chaos dwarves will Probably never come, since they never where a games workshop production to begin with (It was done by White Dwarf). And...I'll collect woodies when they come out! I can't wait to see the wardancers!
dchustler - April 14, 2005 03:13 PM (GMT)
Oh I am most certianly going to get a WE army. I have already threatend to get 2 army boxes. B)
Dragua - April 14, 2005 05:12 PM (GMT)
hehe, what do you think an army box will include? Surely lots of archers and stuff, but wha else?
zephyro - April 14, 2005 08:58 PM (GMT)
I myself hope more that chaos dwarfs come back, cause they are my fav army
I also hear a lot of other people say that they would like CD to return, but I guess GW doesn't listen ....

I'm a WE player as well, and another forum I visit is teeming with info (admittedly it is a WE forum :P)
They're set for a July, August, September release (In the US I believe.) There will be a Glade Guard Regiment Box Set, a Dryad Regiment Box Set, a Glade Rider Regiment Box Set and a Battalion coming within the first two months of release. And the good news is:
THEY'RE ALL PLASTIC!
Special Characters-wise, Orion, the twin sisters that share the same soul, and Durthu will be released.
Hope that helps ;)
Dragua - April 21, 2005 02:59 PM (GMT)
I remember kicking Duthu's ass with Tyrion in 5th edition. And Orion sucked totally too... But their models were nice! But...Twin sisters? I've never heard about them. Who are they?
Raziel - April 21, 2005 07:11 PM (GMT)
Well, here it's a new image of a
Wood Elf Mage.. IMO it's really cool ;)
Myachic_make_love - April 22, 2005 03:17 PM (GMT)
Yeah the mage is great! Same as the archers, im starting a wood elf army with muy brother when it comes out.
dchustler - April 25, 2005 08:15 PM (GMT)
Feast you eyesScroll down the page.... I am so in love!
Myachic_make_love - April 26, 2005 11:30 AM (GMT)
Yeah everythinkg looks great, what great models, now i know for sure that GW did a good job on the new WE, now im gonna pre-order the army deal for sure :P
Dragua - April 27, 2005 08:32 PM (GMT)
I don't find Waywatchers that impressive...but they are unpainted so i might be wrong. The tree-kin look kinda odd, like a tree-alien...
Driazine - April 28, 2005 04:32 PM (GMT)
somehow most of those pics are also on bretonia.org
well anyway... those treemen, arent treemen, they are the lesser treemen or something similar (like ogres). the WE book is going to include 2 army lists ive been told and one will be kind of a treeman list with a treeman lord level character.
im not going to collect them, but i sure like the models...
i would collect them, but its too much drybrushing (i got fed up with drybrushing after my 75 th skellie and im not wuite finished with them yet so ill play brets next as they dont have a lot of drybrushing...)
hope i could tell you something new
driazine
ps. i got this info froma site called vovin.de (its german sorry im just an austrian, who was born in the states ;) )
Raziel - April 29, 2005 08:51 AM (GMT)
You got also other perspectivs on that ones and other models you didn't seen ;)
Just go here
almost in the bottom and in other links in that post ;)

Those can be dryads. (altough they are plastics) They are trees with spirits of Elves in them (i think)
Demonic ward save! :)
Maybe I will collect a small force of WE (about 1000 pt) They can fight my comin brettonian chaos force and my friends black orc and beastmen force.
i don't think i will be fluffy to fight against my tk
Hmmmmm... Oase palm tree wood elves? <_<
markpieter - May 15, 2005 10:17 AM (GMT)
Found some new pictures on dakka dakka. Take a look yourself
New pictures (waywatchers, eternal guard, glade riders, dryads)Some pics are maybe a bit vague.
Uber_kosh - May 15, 2005 10:30 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I've already seen them.
The dryads looks simply awesome!
Uber_kosh - May 18, 2005 11:04 AM (GMT)
COMPLETE RUMOUR LISTGo here for the full low-down:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakka/Default.as...&g=posts&t=6937Treeman Lord Details:
"Treeman Lord, 7"-9" tall model (SWEET!!!) definitely going to be taller and bulkier than the Treebeard model. Treeman lord can cast 2 tree singing as bounds. Ld 9"
"Branchweaver (dryad hero) - dryad hero at 65 could be level 1 mage for +50 pts, iirc."
And apparently Waywatchers will be Special choices now...
Everything looks pretty good, assuming that this is all true... <_< :D
markpieter - May 19, 2005 05:18 PM (GMT)
New models from the GW site:
Wardancers and dryadsYou can't say no to that wardancers!
Bob of Darkness - May 27, 2005 10:17 PM (GMT)
well, here is a picture of the
Wood Elf Lord painted. pretty sweet, eh? :D
Myachic_make_love - May 28, 2005 06:56 AM (GMT)
That looks REALY good, as do all the new wood elf models that are comming out. But is it me or do all the new models realy seem a pain in the ass to paint?
markpieter - May 28, 2005 09:45 AM (GMT)
I think the painting will be hard too, but with simple techniques, you could also get a nice result
Does anybody know what the blue nurgling at his feet is?
Uber_kosh - May 28, 2005 12:51 PM (GMT)
A sprite of some sort. They seem to confer special abilities to the character they are given to.
Apparently you can make a foot Hero move 9" with one.
Bob of Darkness - May 28, 2005 02:43 PM (GMT)
yeah, it is some sort of forest sprite, but i didn't realise they were actually equipment, kewl :D
and the big plus about the model is that with a little converting, he would make a nice DE Noble or Highborn
Bob of Darkness - May 28, 2005 03:27 PM (GMT)
ok, found some more pictures, stop me if you've seen them
the
Battle Standard Bearer is supposed to be the special edition miniature coming with the army box set.
a beautiful painted
Sorceress that I will, again, be adding to my DE army :D
and a picture of what is supposed to be the Woody
Army Book Cover, but don't hold me to that lol
plasmapuff - May 29, 2005 11:48 AM (GMT)
The front cover will be better than that I think^^^. That was probably more of a spearmen/gladeguard/archer drawing for the boxed regiment set.
AS for the rumours on the dakka dakka site- it doesnt work. Does anyone have the proper link?
Raziel - June 1, 2005 09:02 PM (GMT)

Looks good. Are there any confirmed dates yet?
Cbt
Uber_kosh - June 6, 2005 09:45 PM (GMT)
We're all presuming a July-August-September release. That's about all GW have put out so far.
If it's true, then in the next WD there should be a WE preview.
Unlovly soul - June 7, 2005 08:16 AM (GMT)

Uber_kosh - June 8, 2005 08:34 AM (GMT)

Fancy seeing you here. :P
dchustler - June 8, 2005 03:11 PM (GMT)
