Title: Nemesis Crown Campaign
Horus the Everlasting - April 17, 2007 11:33 PM (GMT)
I just wondered how many of us are going to be taking part in the campaign, and more importantly how many of us will be using Khemri armies.
If you are playing as Khemri in Nemesis Crown, will you be registering your results for good or evil?
It'd be good to decide on a common aim for TK forces, that way the desert Lords can have a much more significant impact on the campaign as a whole.
Danceman - April 18, 2007 12:59 AM (GMT)
No idea yet, might be on vacation at the time of the campaign. Otherwise I will probably join in... if it will be my Dwarfs or TK, thats a different matter :)
zethliss - April 18, 2007 03:17 PM (GMT)
I'm planning to play a couple of games for this with my fledgling TK army.
How big an army will depend on how much i can put together before and during then, at the rate it's going it will mainly be border patrol.

The only way I won't be playing is if I get called out of state to work.
Somebody has to represent the Tomb Kings in New Orleans.
Dha-Quayshek - April 22, 2007 03:46 PM (GMT)
joining up with the TK in this one as well. Fighting for the good cause as I doubt this crown would be good in the hands of Chaos :P
Cyberactivity - April 23, 2007 12:48 PM (GMT)
Chaos aren't even one of the major players in this one.
I'll be playing as Chaos - namely slaanesh, or possibly as dark elves. We'll see how it goes.
Horus the Everlasting - April 24, 2007 01:33 PM (GMT)
It would be nice to see a less good-evil polarised campaign, so each army (or group of allied armies) would be working for its own gain. I like the fluff for this campaign and its an excellent opportunity for traditional allies (dwarves and empire in this case) to potentially come to blows, I can't imagine the dwarves being overly enthusiastic about the Emperor taking the crown for his own.
Also if TKs somehow managed to get the crown it could pave the way for a new period of undead domination under Settra.
I somehow expect it'll be the usual unimaginative forces of ruin vs forces of order divide though. If thats the case which side will the Desert Kings fight for. Whichever it is I'm sure we'll simply be looking for a chance to steal the crown when all is said and done.
It would be awesome to have a kind of Khemri central command where as much of TK's impact on the campaign could be directed. I was also thinking that Khemri.co.uk would be an awesome place to run it from, with all our members giving input and a small group of our most senior members could make decisions. Of course it'll only work ifall or most of our members agree to it...

Its very likely that we will see dedicated sites spring up for the sides nearer the start when we know a bit more, and I would expect us to be one if not the main TK faction.
King of Tombs - April 25, 2007 03:56 AM (GMT)
im going with my Tomg Kings all the way
Milamber - April 25, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
Tomb Kings for sure, beat up those pesky grave robbers! Do you reckon the end results will be rigged? With the 40K campaign last year I'd heard that the Imperium got smashed by chaos, but for fluff reasons good must prevail. Chaos wins = the Imperium falls = end of 40K (ish). Might be different here though with every race fighting for personal reasons. :D
Pwmf200 - April 25, 2007 11:57 PM (GMT)
If anything the campaign was riged from the start so chaos would win, same with SoC no matter what Chaos was going to start the seige on a set day, fighting a war where you can only ever defend and never attack is stupid, even so the Chaos army ended the game further away from the city than they started and the fluff was still pro Chaos.
So yes expect the same again GW will have already desided on a draw with stupid fluff after all if one side won it would change the back round which Gw can't.

In W40k - and they've already mentioned this in the latest WD - they can pick on a random planet in a remote part of the Solar system that is near Tyranids, Tau, necron or Chaos and it's up to everyone else to defend defeat everyone else in that area, as everyone has access to space travel it isn't really an issue about who plays what.
WFB is of course completely different, will they re-write all the books if the Empire falls? No, I didn't think so either, what reason is there for the Lizardmen to make their way across so much terrain? Why would the Tomb Kings of Khemri even bother to travel to the world of the living? And a multitude of other reasons...
We're not going to get rid of any particular race, (wasn't the home world of the Squats (Space Dwarfs) blown up years ago?) so IMO the world will not change and nothing will come of the campaign, other than we get to play loads of games for a laugh and what better reason is this :)

Horus the Everlasting - April 30, 2007 07:22 AM (GMT)
yeah, you'll probably find that whoever ends up with the nemesis crown at the end of the campaign it'll spontaneously combust, implode, crumble to dust or find some other way of becoming completely useless so it has no effect on the world.
notlogic - April 30, 2007 03:02 PM (GMT)
I hope they get creative with how the campaign is run and how the story-line goes. From what I've heard so far they might as well call it the 'One Ring' rather than the 'Nemesis Crown'. Good excuse for a lot of battles, but not all that imaginitive.
Orlock - April 30, 2007 05:56 PM (GMT)
I'll (hopefully) take part with my brand new Khemri army ;)
Even though i dont think GW will change even the tiniest bit of the storyline, i am looking forward for quite some epic battles and challenges.
Rickea - May 2, 2007 12:20 PM (GMT)
According to the Nemesis Crown packet that came with the latest WD, TK could care less who gets the crown but think it is great time to recover the plundered artifacts from other races.
I plan to sign up as TK and expect by Brother & nephew will as well as emprie & orcs. I am hoping to get a 4th player signed up so we can get some regular battles in during the campaign.
As for good or evil, SOC I did good, but really think they should have it more tailored to your actual race.
Alcadizzar - May 3, 2007 05:13 AM (GMT)
I'm going with Tomb King, but its uncertain whether we are going to be classed as 'evil' because Settra wants to sack Altdorf, which is home to the 'good' humans or we are 'good' because we are just trying to get our stuff back. Either way, looting is fun :D
Ra-num - May 6, 2007 04:08 AM (GMT)
I will be on it for sure.. Sounds like alot of fun. Who cares if GW has it all worked out before hand  ..I certainly don't  ..
ouroboris - May 7, 2007 12:16 AM (GMT)
do ur get more points for writing up batreps when you post a battle?
ill take part- ice mummies from canada!!! might play my OK init too...
(hey that would be a cool TK theme- inuit mummies, dog sled chariots and polar bears bursting from the ice- snow instead of sand)

"Ice Mummies" ;) I like it :P ..
Artinam - May 7, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
I'm in... with Bretonnia :ph43r:
King Leoric - May 7, 2007 06:14 PM (GMT)
that ice mummies stuff sounds cool, i like the idea of polar Bears as Scorps as well
my local GW is going for a setting like Aliens vs Predator instead of the usual one, with everyone fighting for control of an old slann temple on the North pole with something like the crown inside. its given peole some chance to do funky stuff with their armies- one guy wants to make his squig hoppers look like snow balls with snow effect flock  and an ogre player is going to give all his models yhetee pelts and give the gnoblar little hunting caps with ear flaps :D
zephyro - May 7, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
I'm certainly joining in on this.
Altdorf will be sacked and we will get back all of our nice and shiny stuff, giving us 10 pages worth of new items, 364 new special characters and the nemesis crown (which strangely turned out to have teleported itself to Altdorf) which makes us the new rulers of the old world again and changes us back to our former selves.
One can dream  ....
