No that is no spell the LP is casting, so I doubt they would work. The casket is just a big bound spell basically operated by the LP. I might be wrong on that, don't have the AB handy right now, but I think it is considered a bound spell/item.

it is cast like an incantation.
so i'm in doubt, a player at mine local shop used it like this.

I just looked in the army book and acoording to the book it's illegal to do.

Allthough the casket says indeed that it's cast exactly like an incantation it is not the priest casting it but rather the casket of souls itself. Therefor it cannot benefit from the PLaques.

Regardless it is something i never even thought about before, i would try it out if it was legal.

if only, that would be quite interesting, liche with plaques, double light of death, thats like an average 6 wounds a turn, rofl, thats like a leadership test for half the army, and 1/4 of it running away, curses if only.
