Title: Pdf?
Dbunibe - August 9, 2011 06:23 PM (GMT)
Before people tell me it's wrong let me preface this by saying I purchased the book.
Does anyone know where I can get a PDF of the new book? I like to keep my books on my kindle and my scanner broke a few months back. I haven't gotten a new one as I no longer need it for school.

Being as it's against the law (yes, that tricky thing), I don't think anyone can actually help you out. Maybe if there was some way to search for things on the internet... couldn't possibly name anything. No really, there's a gun at my head and I can't name anything. :P That or wait until you can acquire a scanner and scan your book then.
On a related but slightly different topic, I can't be the only one who'd like to be able to buy digital copies of the books at lower prices right? I don't personally have anything that could easily display them at my local GW but if I ever did, and for anyone who does, the option would be nice.

:)
Why I think there is such way on the internet.
There, there is supposed to roam an entity that is said to be your friend. You need only name it what it is you seek, and it finds it for you.

True that. Unless GW decides to publish their stuff in PDF format for e-readers or something, it would be illegal to put (links to) copies/scans on the forums.
That being said, I am not going to do some privacy infringement and read your PM boxes to check.

You can do that? Blimey, this is the only forum I know that can! You learn something new everyday. :P

It's either that... or I'm bluffing. B)

As an admin on a couple of other forums, yes you can do that ;)

I was unaware that you can do that - I know there are a lot of options available to change user names passwords etc, more of an assistant that a spy.

Since you own the book, you could scan the thing to pdf yourself and put it on the kindle to read in a different format.
You couldn't post it for other people to read, send it around, etc.
(IANAL, but as I understand it, that's "fair use")
Would be handy, as if OCR worked at all on the scan, you could then not only tote around your BRB and all your army books (and FAQs) in one little kindle, but search on terms to see where that rule is hiding, or if there was a FAQ about something.

I think it's handy to scan and cut rules and dice charts out and put in ref sheet for quick viewing instead of wear and tear on armybooks, rulebooks.

that's exactly why i do it. and the whole point of my post is that my scanner is busted. I never download stuff so I had no idea where to begin. I dont even really understand what a torrent is. It's all good though. A friend let me borrow his scanner so now I can quickly pull up my TK.
