Lords - 255pts (12.75%)
Horus the Everlasting, Grand Hierophant of Qu'Aph
Liche High Priest, Hierophant, Level 4 wizard, Lore of Nehekhara, Talisman of Preservation

Heroes - 239pts (11.95%)
Prince Akenaten the Unforgiving
Tomb Prince, General, Great Weapon, Glittering Scales, Dragonbane Gem

Horekah the Enlightened, Acolyte of Ptra
Liche Priest, Level 2 Wizard, Lore of Light

Core Units - 500pts (25%)
20 Skeleton Archers; standard & musician
20 Skeleton Archers; standard & musician
4 Skeleton Chariots

Special Units - 780pts (38.5%)
30 Tomb Guard; Halberds, full command, banner of eternal flame
Khemrian Warsphinx; Fiery Roar
5 Carrion

Rare - 225pts (11.25%)
Screaming Skull Catapult
Casket of Souls

The Prince will deploy with the Tomb Guard, the priests will accompany the archer units (one in each).

I have a trio of Necropolis Knights which I could switch with the war sphinx, not sure which I would get better use out of really, although I have had my sphinx die a few too many times recently, they aree far too easy to bring down through weight of fire (but then I guess that Necro Knights would go down almost as easily to concentrated fire).

I strongly prefer Necro Knights over the Warsphinx. They hold up much better in battle and are less likely to die before combat especially to S10 cannonballs or low powered poisoned shots. Plus, if you take Rhamotep in your TG units, the Necro Knights would have a 3+ RE-REOLLABLE armour save.

I already have Two warmachines, and I can't afford a second SSC until they decide to make a plastic one, I've had too much experience of finecrap to risk buying a resin catapult that would require me to sell body parts to finance.

I could trial the snakes instead of the sphinx, but I don't know where I am going to find the points for Rammy from, I guess I could drop the L2 priest, but I rather like having a few spells from the lore of light.

Would you consider dropping the Halberds on the Tomb Guard to free up some more points?

If I'm honest I don't really see the point in non-halberd tomb guard, they're not better enough than regular skellies to justify being almost 3 times the cost.

I've tweaked a few things and stripped off some unnecessary embellishments

Lords - 225pts (11.25%)
LHP (L4, LoN, channeling staff)

Heroes - 349pts (17.45%)
Prince (GW, Glittering scales, DBG)
Ramhotep
Priest (L2, Light)

Core - 500pts (25%)
20 Archers (mus & standard)
20 Archers (mus & standard)
4 Chariots

Special - 698pts (34.9%)
29 Tomb Guard w/ Halberds & full command
3 Necropolis Knights
4 Carrion

Rare - 225pts (11.25%)
Screaming Skull Catapult
Casket of Souls

Total - 1999pts

There is the obvious stat boosts, access to a magic banner, parry save. I think if you take advantage of desiccation as the spell that has to go through then the extra strength doesn't really matter as much.

Looks like a solid enough list however, when is the first game coming up with it?

Hmm, second list looks nicer. Ramotheb is a very obvious fit in there. I'm not sold on 25% of your army being characters, but that's personal I guess. I'd personally take the lvl2 and the catapult and turn those to random elements in, idunno, a titan and some command options, but again, that's just my taste. Good to see carrion in there ^^

I've been consistently unimpressed with the Lore of Nehekhara so I'd prefer to keep the L2 as a few light spells is good backup (and they synergies very well with the Necro knights). I could drop the hiero down to a L3 to save some points, it would let me put my 5th carrion back in at least.

I actually wouldn't go anywhere without the carrion, they're one of the stars of a list where mobility is very hard to come by.

if you like light better and nehek doesn't do it for you, why buy the lvl4?

with ramy and a prince you've got 290 points left. you could fit in 2lvl2's and a lvl1

Because trying to dispel enemy magic at a -2 disadvantage is not my idea of fun, I've tried multiple low level wizard and a King and I didn't like it, you rarely get any spells through with a L2 as your highest wizard.

I think the general consensus is either run 2 SSCs or none at all. I would consider dropping the SSC and use the points for command options on the chariots/necros (give chariots the flaming banner perhaps) and a 5th carrion
