QUOTE
As Thorgrim’s warriors closed on their foe under the dulled light of the Chaos Moon, their Dwarven hearts were oblivious to the waking nightmares afflicting so many warriors of the other races. In distant Altdorf, the night sky was illuminated by blinding fireballs and incandescent explosions as a battle between invisible foes erupted. Though none could see them, the citizens wailed that the armies of the Undead had come to reclaim what was theirs and that only the Colleges of Magic could save them. The Wizards battled as the night wore on, a great many of their number falling, withered and dry, to the spells and curses of an unseen foe. None would know what armies besieged Altdorf that night, for no corpses would be left to tell the tale. Only the Wizards themselves knew how close Altdorf had come to disaster at the wizened hands of the Tomb Kings of Khemri

I read it like this, we took the items in the end and the wizards know how much damage we could of done if we had wanted to. So that would mean we got what we came for and the empire can heal itself.

If we have fun gaming and writing fluff, then it is worth it IMHO.

Oh I agree...

But who is writing the fluff
and it does not seem like everyone is having "fun" playing blink.gif .

Did anyone seriously expect the forces of good not to reclaim the crown? Everyone knows that these things are totally rigged from the beginning, but hey, it's a great excuse to play more right?

Yeah but a campaign is and should have a soild outcome dispite what the company decided before hand.

No wonder most serious gamers just could not be bothered playing.
Why do GW always put such grand outcomes on their campaign rolleyes.gif .

Yeah, Storm of Chaos was much the same, it really didn't matter what the results were, nothing actually changed the outcome.

Maybe we'll get something new as we did recover some items... maybe not.

I do agree however, that GW should consider letting either "neutral" and "evil" win sometimes, instead of always the High Elves, Dwarves, Bretts and the Empire.

Sadly they can't transfer the results from 40K to fantasy as there is not much to conquer for the forces of Chaos and for the Undead... We do live on the same planet after all, so the only thing that could be taken is land and then someone would have to lose a bit of their empire... Not gonna happen, sadly sad.gif

You know GW should run a online campaign in the badlands oe something to control most of the land?.
Each year all the forces can fight and re-fight for it.. That would be better.

Sounds like a good idea Ra-num.

The odds however... are quite small if not non-existant for that to happen sad.gif
Anyway, hopefully we got something out of this campaign wink.gif

Wait.. just remembered something... didn't GW say that they would NOT make a campaign that increased the timeline when the 7th ED was out?

If the results were game determined far from bad winning the Damp breeze of Chaos would have ended with a win for order so decisive that most of the evil force would have been writen out of 7th, which is never going to happen the campigns are rigged so the the attacking force (always evil) gets so far otherwise nothing would happen at all, but results are always a sort of 1 all draw.

I'm just confused about a few things concerning our conclusion. Either I don't comprehend what I read or GW wrote some pretty bad fluff:

1. If the Slann halted the Winds of Magic for the night, then how could the Imperial Wizards defend Altdorf? I'm not sure if Liche Magic relies on the Winds of Magic (seeing that we don't get miscasts or irresistable force) but if we did, that would mean our whole army would be pretty screwed that night too, right?

2. So did we get any items from the College of Magic or not? GW didn't really make it clear if we got items and went back to the Land of the Dead, or if we went back empty-handed, if our forces got destroyed, or if we went back at all.

3. How did we make ourselves invisible?

All in all, I'm surprised and pleased that we at least made it to Altdorf and besieged it, that was pretty cool.

IMHO

1. The Slanns blocking of magic didn't affect/reach all of the Warhammerworld.

2. This is as vague as could be, so personally I have chosen, that TK got some of their items back, but had to retreat before finding them all. (Everybody wins a bit)

3. I believe the invisible part was due to the aid of the Skaven (as many of you detest), who have experts in "invisible warfare" (Clan Eshin assassins). In some fluff they went into Altdorf through sewers and tunnels and opened the gates for the TK and some skavenarmies as well. Quick in - slaughter and mayhem and looting - quick out = almost as invisible.

Use and/or alter it as you please ninja.gif
