Hey guys, I had an idea for a list and I want to hear if anyone has had any luck with it on the tabletop, or anythign similar.

Looks something like this (I don't have my book handy for points atm) and is around 2,500 points

Lords
Arkhan the Black
Tomb King with Golden Death Mask

Heroes
Herald Nekaph
Necrotect (maybe Ramhontep if points allow)

Core
2 units of 6 Charriots

Special
18 Ushabti with Great Weapons

I think there are a few more points to mess around with, maybe take some Tomb Scorpions or swarms or something.

The tactic is to have the Ushabti with the King, Necrotect and Herald in it forcing a 3D6 drop the lowest leadership test for fear and terror without the benifit of BSB/General and having 54 great weapon hatred attacks on the poor unit that it hits. I rolled it out agianst a few armies and it tends to wipe up what it fights.

Thoughts?

I'd be uneasy in a 2500pt game with only 3 units on the board. Even more so with no ability to heal. Looks like you are mostly relying on Psychology or Bruit Force to take out your opponent before your units drop. I'm not sure how well that works with our army but I'd be interested to see how it does happy.gif;

Ushabti function best with Lore of Light and Nehekhara buffs. When you field that unit, you need to build your lsit around it. Therefore, Dump the lords you have now and take 2 level 4's with Light and Nehekhara. Bring a casket and a heirotitan to get a strong magic phase.
While I love a unit of 6 chariots, I feel that you need a good shooting base in order to eliminate chaff and to bring the enemy to you. Archers and catapults will help you there.
18 is a lot of ushabti. I'd consider trying out 10 of them with full command first and see how it goes.

Stay tuned for reports from me after this weekend's tournament. My list is not exactly like yours, but has some elements in common. It's posted elsewhere around here.

I want to do the 18-man Ushabti unit as well, but my painting speed let me down for this event.

i have run 12 with full command and necrotect, and enjoy it's combat prowess.

I would suggest some redirectors since you may get outmaneuverred easily. Many choices, carrion, horses (either), scorpions ( but they are more middle/end game) Having the cheap redirectors you can occupy some units till you have dealt the death blows the the main fights and can deal with them. You may slaughter most thigns you face off, but if it survives and you get hit in the side with a nice monster or unit of crazed something or others it could get ugly...

Characters can join Ush units, but they have to stay on the side of the unit, and don't get a Look Out, Sir!.

I'd say, if you're going to have a Herald in the unit anyways, swap Nekaph for a BSB with the Standard of the Undying Legion to heal large swaths of Ushabti in each round, as well as help reduce Crumble. Herald of Fear isn't going to help with Terror tests, since it's Base Contact range only.

We tried it a few times so far at my store and it has been pretty successfull overall. I do wan tto put some more magic in, but honestly I have a list that revolves around the dual level 4's casket titan idea so I wanted to keep this one different.

I took the advise on the BSB with the dead banner to regen all those wounds, I totally forgot that it could do more than one wound per round even on a construct and it worked pretty well.
