The boy stared at the horizon from the balcony of his quarters. It was a warm morning but that was not what was bothering him. He could hear the footsteps in the hallway leading up to his chamber. He sighed for he recognized who was approaching. 'Young prince, are you ready for your lesson?' the high priest asked. 'Aww.. do I have to? I don't want to!' the boy moaned. His teacher started to smile. 'But my Prince, I think you'll like today's lesson. For who doesn't want to hear about the courage and bravery of Ptra, the beauty of Asaph and the realm of Usirian?' Within a blink of an eye, the boy stood up and sat down on the small wooden chair, his eyes wide open eagerly and awaiting the words of wisdom.
The purpose of this thread is to share our knowledge about the cities and the various gods of our glorious empire. It is to serve as a source of information and inspiration for people to use as they seem fit. It is to guide our way through the multitude of gods we Khemrians have, as well as giving background about our cities. As such, this a topic where strict moderation rules apply. Every post that doesn't give relevant information (which has to include the source of the information!) or is just a question about a city or god, will be deleted. I don't want anything to clutter this thread. I purely want to have a list of cities of gods. I want an overview of what the cities look like, how they are organised and ruled, which deity is most important to them, as well as a list of the gods themselves: what are they like, which form did they take, what did they achieve.. Everyone is welcome to share their knowlegde as long as they provide where they got the information from. In other words, it has to be official information. I hope, in due time, this thread will turn into a valuable source of information. -------------------- More or less back

I was asked by Darlan to share what I know about Nehekhara's gods and cities. Just nit-picking its Usirian, not Osirian. Heres the list (note, this is info from before Nagash):
Khemri god: Ptra capital of Nehekhara "The City of Kings" Numas god: unknown major farming city "Nehekhara's Breadbasket" Mahrak god: all of em the city of temples "The City of Hope" Quatar god:Djaf the city that guards Valley of Kings (Charnel Valley) "The White Palace" Lybaras god(s): Tahoth, later Asaph the inventor city Lahmia god: Asaph the trading city note: these guys are total hedonists Zandri god: Qu'aph the slaver's city Ka-Sabar god: Geheb the forge city Ra-Setra god: unknown the jungle outpost Gods/Goddesses Ptra All-Father, Lord of the Sun normally appears as a strong golden man Neru Moon godess, wife of Ptra often appears as beautiful silver maiden Sakhmet The green moon, concubine of Ptra often appears as green-skinned hag Phakth Lord of Sky, Bringer of Swift Justice often appeared as man in blue or a blue+gold hawk Djaf god of death often appeared as jackal or jackal-headed man Khsar god of desert wind often appears as cyclone or nomad Usirian god of underworld appears as faceless grey-clad king Sokth god of murderers and poison appears as a thief or scorpion Qu'aph god of snakes and subtlety appears as cobra or noble in green Geheb god of earth and strength appears as large bearded warrior or bull Tahoth god of wisdom appears as ibis or a humble scholar Asaph godess of beauty, vengeance, and magic appears as beautiful queen or as an asp Ualatp god of carrion appears as vulture or a scrawny beggar Usekhp god of desert/dryness doesn't take any known physical forms and there are many other gods, but this is the main pantheon. I got all my information from the army book and the novel Nagash the Sorceror, which is published by the Black Library (GW) |

Forgot a couple of things:
Bhagar God: Khsar the home of the nomads Ualatp's purpose in the pantheon is to take the souls of warriors who have been lost to the desert and take them to fight never-ending battles against the daemons from the North (Nehekharan account of the Great Cataclysm) |

I think geheb is symbolised by a Lion. In Nagash the Sorceror its suggested that the ushabti of Geheb in Mahrak look like man-lions.
I'd like to know which God Numas follows, cos they renowned for cavalry yet are symbolosied by the khepra (scarab) beetle. I don't know if the Khepra beetle God is ever mentioned though. |

Is that so? I would love to modify an Ushabti Ancient to have a Lion skull head if there is lore to suport it. -------------------- I look only to the good qualities of men. Not being faultless myself, I won't presume to probe into the faults of others.
