So my question is this: Will the model survive transporting and playing? The whip seems soooo fragile and I really fear that this model has been a waste of money.

Can anyone give me a tip on how to best preserve him?
As it is my first ever model of finecast, I was suprised how light he was. Does he tip over all the time as well?

surprisingly, its kinda sturdy, in the fact that unless you go to extreme measures the whip wont break, just bend a hellova lot. he transports fine in my figure case, just put him face down the the whip can lay across the tops of the tray and its will be fine.

My advice is to make your own.

Use chariot driver legs and a whip army, add a torso of choice and a weapon. For a head use something impressive and different (I used a Khemri BB team head).

Plastic is much better than Finecast for this.

Yea exactly the same as me (and I own 2) the biggest problem with them is cleaning the whips. But if done carefully it's easy

+1 this. Mine has been transported around quite a bit. I handle the whip a lot too, it's more 'springy' than fragile. The model is sturdy, so far.

EDIT: I just remembered the tip of the dagger/sword was completely broken in 2 when I first opened it!! Luckily it was a perfect snap and it was easy to glue back together...the risk of Finecast. When it works, it's freaking amazing, when it doesn't....

I opened the package on mine and my freinds and I all head a "tink"(sproing?).
Luckily it glued back nicely blink.gif It was full of holes too.

On the plus side i called GW a few days later and they sent me a new perfect one so it's all good!

My Necrotec has held up a lot better than the finecast LP (whose arm always seems to come off); the only real problem I had was getting the figure into the base slot.

I have done a number of finecast figures and while the larger ones seem to work fine once you shave the tab, for regular sized finecast I just clip it off at the feet and glue it which works better.

Yeah I bought the finecast now. I have really waited a long time before doing so, but I realized that I keep using him in my army, and I want the right models for it.

Mine was a perfect cast. I have found one very, very small flaw, but it's in a good place where you will never see it.

Thanks for making me feel better about it. Now I am more comfortable transporting the model.

Happened to me, too. The sword broke off when freeing it from its cadre. I ended up shortening it to a dagger... Looks natural even :-)

Was given one as a Christmas gift, he stands up well as long as not being crazy with him. As for the Liche Priest is that the need to use the loo one? Ugh model is so ugly I would thing breaking it would make it look better. My 2 cents tongue.gif
