Hey everyone. I just finished painting my first 1500 points and I'm looking for advice on the best type of carrying case to get for my models. I have Army Transport cases for my High Elves and they work great, but this army has a lot of models that don't fit well in the AT foams. In particular, I have 7 chariots, a necrosphinx, a casket, and a warsphinx being built. I was wondering if anyone knew a site that might have foams that can hold several chariot sized models with tall, fragile parts.

I use sabol army transport 1 and 2. I just got another 2 to replace my 1. the 2 1/2 and 3 inches foam work well for me. Btw I also have high elves and Tomb Kings. I also just got a platoon add on to carry more models as my army expands. Currently I store six chariots and sphinx well.

Magnetize the bases, put em on something magnetic. Then a toolbox or even a old shoebox will do fine.

I made my own case for this exact reason

1 plastic tote approx 24"x12"x18" $4.99

2yards soft foam 2"thick $48.76 joanne's fabrics (it was 50% off) this stuff is always on sale
2 yards soft foam 1/4" thick 16.84 joanne's fabrics (also 50% off)
I cut the foam to fit into the tote, the thinner stuff is for the bottom of each tray. i ended up with 7 layers (left room on top for my books dice tape measure and movement trays

you can cut the foam to fit your models. A chariot on its side is 2" an infantry standing up is 2" so it works great. my bottom layer is double thick for my kitties, SSC's and other large models.

I also use Army Transport, and I can store nearly everything in 2 inches foam or smaller.

When I build models, I try to always think how I will store and transport them. So I try to not have protruding parts like spears and such that could cause problem.

So in a single 2 inches foam, I can store 6 Chariots rather easily :

Hm, I like the idea of the chariots on their sides. In retrospect I should have put the whips on the charioteers facing forward instead of up. The necrosphinx should fit well on his side, but I'm worried about the warsphinx with all the spears from the crew sticking out.

Magnetize bases & put them in a biscuit box (metallic one of ourse). You get two advantages:
1) you don't destroy the minis
2) you get to eat the biscuits wink.gif

Sabol Army Tpt Motor Pool. I can get 7 chariots upright in one tray without touching each other. 2x Warphinx will fit upright in a 4" tray if you don't glue on the tall banner and make minor modifications to one of the spearmen (lowering the spear).

With some carefull planning, I managed to get my 2 Sphinxes on their side in a 2 inches foam, with some extra room if I need to fit something else tongue.gif Sometime a little bit of modelling can save a good amount of space!

Well, to be more specific then, Necrosphinx + Warsphinx + Casket + Hierotitan, all in one 4" tray, plus room for addtional characters if required.

I actually just ordered a Motor Pool. Thanks for the suggestions. This should do the trick, with room left over for future purchases.
