Khemri Titan

Ok, so it has come to my attention that the Khemri Titan is an official unit in warhammer, found in the book "MONSTROUS ARCANUM", but it does not exist physically. You cannot purchase it anywhere. It is an amazing unit and one that I personally find to be very epic in appearance.

Now... I am pretty artistic plus my father was an artist in many ways, very skilled. I will attempt at making this beast. Here I will be posting my progress as I make this unit. IF this thing comes out good enough... I will be selling it for others to enjoy biggrin.gif very reasonable price considering what it is but I have to see how it comes out first. anyway I really hope it comes out right cuz I want everyone to be able to have this unit, and enjoy it too, at least until Forge World creates it officially.

Hope You guys enjoy and I hope to get your opinions :3

Let me know what you think of these sketches. I am going tomorrow to get the materials to get started on them as a test.

Not to kill your entthusiasm, but Warhammer Forge will make the model for that, and for everyhing in Monstrous Arcanum. That's what they intended to from the start of the project, and we've got a pretty steady release of model so far.

But of course nothing stop you from making your own, but it might be a bit lame to start such an ambitious project and seeing FW releasing it next month or something like that.

But I still want to see what you'll come up with smile.gif

I know... I figured that would be a possibility but aside from price being a factor with FW stuff, I think it would be cool regardless. tongue.gif

Thank you, I really hope it comes out well and that you all like it ^^

I'm not 100% sure on this, but isn't all the monsters in Monstrous Arcanum only for Storm of Magic or specifik MA scenarios? sad.gif

Well There is always house rules. I don't play with Many other people other than my brother.Besides, I don't think its that limited but anyway I find it to be an awesome challenge for me to do. Even if it is limited, It can be used regardless tongue.gif

UPDATE 2: Edited

So I was unable to get the materials to begin the model because of weather so I decided to sketch something else: The Head

Edit:

Lol I missed the proportion by a bit so I have re-sized the sketches so that they are correct more or less. Anywho, I plan today to get the materials and begin.

Here is the pic with the better size comparison to my Tomb King Atek again:

A question: are these new big things (the ones that are out) coming on Arachnorak bases -- or even larger things? Although big stuff looks cool in a display case, the new VC devices are already pushing the limit of what looks good to me: one of my primary gripes with 40k is that the tabletop starts to look more like a parking lot than a battlefield with so many and so large vehicles. FoW does a much better job of looking cool, IMHO, which is largely due to a more sensible choice in scale.

Fantasy, focusing on big blocks of troopers with the occasional spiffy big gribbly monster simply looks a lot better than 40k: but anything bigger than an Arachnorak (or more than two on the table at a time) simply doesn't look right.

Well I am not quite sure on the sizes for all of them but I am sure that a lot of them are probably a bit bigger than the Arachnorak. But I cannot agree more with you. I am planning to have this as the only "big" unit on the table cuz I hate crowdedness lol.

UPDATE 3

So I got some modeling clay and started on one of the mandibles of the beast. I don't think its perfect but I felt it was pretty good. I took it as practice to get the hang of using this clay and such but anyway here is a pic of what resulted from it as presented by Atek beside it:

Next is to try out the mold making thing... anywho lets see how it comes out.

Actually its going to be plastic, I am just making the clay parts first, then mold, and so on. It won't be heavy at all tongue.gif or at least it shouldn't be lol

P.S. GRRR!!! Its mine now too! :3

The first bits you've sculpted actually look to be only about half the height of a mummy (ie, half the size of what you've made), not bigger than him.

Good luck!

Just a random suggestion, but would it not be easier if you started off with the body and built the other bits on to that? I can certainly understand the desire to just dive in, but I worry that the scale might spiral out of control a bit if you aren't careful. By starting with the body you might be in a better position to judge the scale of the mandibles etc as you go along.

Man, i'd have serious respect for you if you did this and finished it. It'd be properly epic. Good luck.
