Quick question although I think I know the answer. Can this be used against a spell cast with IF?
RAW I would think not as it states instead of attempting to dispel read this scroll, if a spell is cast with IF you don't get an opportunity to dispel. Correct? -------------------- |

For some reason this made me ponder what would happen if you -could- attempt to dispel a spell cast with Irresistible Force. This lead to a House rule that could be fun to play once or twice.
If a spell is cast with Irresistible Force, you may attempt to Dispel it but you must roll Irresistible Force for Dispelling. If Dispelled with Irresistible Force, the spell is canceled and the Dispelling Wizard must roll on the Miscast table instead of the Wizard that cast with Irresistible Force. No Items may be used when rolling to dispel a spell cast with Irresistible Force. This could be seen as the Dispelling Wizard stealing the energy from the spell and suffering the consequences of the explosive magical energies. -------------------- I look only to the good qualities of men. This is also answered in the FAQ.
Q: Can there ever be more than one attempt at dispelling a spell per magic phase? Can a Wizard use a scroll if it isn’t allowed to make a dispel attempt, for example the spell was cast with irresistible force or the wizard has previously failed to dispel a spell that turn? (p35) A: No to both questions. -------------------- Orc Warboss & Newly Unburied Tomb Prince

I believe that FAQ might have been answering the Dispel Scroll question. Though who knows.
