It looks like I am going to be stuck using TK for the league I am in. I can't get my orcs ready in time. Two games this Friday. One vs Skaven and one vs Ogres (I think).

I'm taking the same list to both and will report on the games afterward.

List:

L4 Nehek - Wand of Jet, Horse
Tomb King - Death Mask, Scales, Great Weapon, Ironcurse Icon, Chariot
L2 Death - Power Stone
L2 Death
Herald - BSB, Rampager's Standard, Chariot

6 Chariots - FC, Swiftness
14 Horsemen - FC
15 Archers - Musician

Scorpion
Scorpion

Casket
Titan
Catapult - Skulls of the Foe
Catapult - Skulls of the Foe

Totally different. Totally made for Ld bombs. We'll see.

Leadership bombs aside, it's obviously meant to slam in with 4D6 S5 impact hits and deny General and BSB usage. We'll see. With the two banners in that unit I should be able to count on 19 inch charges pretty heavily. My games will almost certainly come down to one single charge+fight.

I'll even be dropping skulls on enemy units within 6 of my general, so there's a good chance I'll kill my own stuff (thus, the Ironcurse).

Your level 2s on foot need to be placed correctly or they will die against Skaven.

Don't put them with the archers. It is asking to get Dreaded 13th to death since it is the only eligible unit. Standing around gets zapped by Warp Lightning. Standing alone gets LOS! versus the Warp Lightning Cannon. Placing it with the Skeletal Horsemen loses LOS! but then again, you have a target rich environment.

Yeah, for sure, Mojo. If I had two more painted up mounted liches, they would join the horsemen and there would not even be archers in the army.

Still, I don't plan to let any silly grey seer live long enough to cast the 13th. Chariots, charge!!!!

That's quite interesting. I'd like to know how your horsemen will perform for you. Personnally I like horsemen, but I use them as bunkers. I once charged them into dessiccated ogres and it was a real blast, but I would be reluctant charging them into much else :-)

This have the potential to turn so horribly wrong for your guys!

But I hope the new dices will work better for you and that you can at least get half-decent result from that list, the concet does have a good potential! If you indeed play Skaven and Ogres and you manage some good rolls, it could turn quite ugly for them!

I wish you luck smile.gif

Like you say you're plan comes down to mainly getting the chariot charge off or not.

To counter that a good idea would have been to take a coupld of carrion next to your chariots, if the chariots failed an important charge just use the carrion to angle the opponents unit away from your chariots, giving you a chance to charge again next turn.

First time you have written a list where I haven't cringed though, well done biggrin.gif

I'd suggest Scorpions vs Skaven and Stalkers vs Ogres. It's a really easy switch, at any rate. No need to handicap yourself and then blame the book being bad...

Not enough points.

@Others - I may take the snakes for the ogre game. I like them more, that's for effing sure. I'm just trying to give the scorpions their due.

Oh, and Andrew, the book _is_ bad. Just because some are having fun with it and winning a few games doesn't change that.

Well, what I meant is that if you purposely take poorer choices, or handicap yourself, you shouldn't make a claim that everything sucks, when certain other choices would have ripped up the enemy. Just saying.

Give the scorpions their due, but realize that they won't be good against tough enemies and that if you have a better choice (like Stalkers), then go for them. Scorpions are good against weak things like Skaven, and Stalkers are good against low-I things like Ogres...simple fact wink.gif.

If you had a choice to play a poker game and get a hand of numbers or a hand of face cards, what would you choose? The numbers and claim the game is rigged against you when it loses? tongue.gif

This tongue.gif

I think half of Slebs losses amount to poor army composition and the other half bad dice rolling rolleyes.gif ok maybe its 25% army selection and 99% dice!

Have you been rolling more 5's with the new dice latley Sleb?

Oh and good luck for your game!

Thanks!

Friday will be the first use of the dice. It doesn't feel right to use them with other armies, and I had quit TK before they arrived (and am only using them now in the league because my orcs are not ready and it would be bad form to quit the league).

We see all out magic, a deathstar, 2 bunkers, a monster, 2 burrowers and 3 warmachines.

I'm not sold on your plan. If skaven throws you some slaves, you'll wipe them (but then agains, they'll roll snakeeyes for their breaktest twice before they die). If the skaven throw you three rat darts, you'r royally screwed. It's not that simple, I know, but then again, it is!

I don't know enough about ogres.

I'll read your reports with interest, that's for sure.

I definatly hope you do well but seeing your list, I cant help but notice the serious lack of punch in the army and a lack of arrows. going with one or the other means you can leave one out but leaving both out is going to hurt. good luck though

The chariots+king are the punch. They are also the arrows.

Let's face it, TK have neither punch nor good shooting available to them anyway, so the chariots are about as good as it can get.
