Are TK of any use against skaven below 2000 Pts?
Cause I need to play against the following soon (1000 pts): Heroes Warlock engineer with warp blades and storm deamon (85) Warlock engineer with warp blades and storm deamon (85) Core 25 Clanrats with banner and musician and ratlinggun(200) 25 Clanrats with banner and musician (140) 20 Slaves (40) 20 Slaves (40) 16 Nightrunners with 2nd hand weapon (112) Special 15 Plague monks with 2nd hand weapon & standard bearer (130) 5 Jezzails (100) Rare 4 Plague censer bearers (68) Total 1000 pts and 132 models This was just his conceptual list I am quite sure he added Rat Ogres and removed whatever. Perhaps the nightrunners and some second weapons or so. And what about a 2000 pts skaven army? More outnumbering but better force for the Tomb Kings, I believe they're better as soon as you get above 1800 pts or so, but how would I fight this list, what would be good choices - some standard stuff? Slaves will be placed on the front, taking in any ICFB and the charges of chariots. Jezzails won't be quite reachable or perhaps with an SSC, but that's such a guessing weapon. Warlock engineers are strong but not that much because TK magic is way stronger and more useful. Any hints, people that wonder this as well, someone that has way more experience than me with a brilliant solution I should've easily thought of? Or noone bothering this at all? ^^ |

At 1000 points your gonna have a hell of a time vs Skaven.
Post this in the army list section with a list you think might be good to take on his and the guys can then help you adjust it. -------------------- "The Legend Killer"

I would rather have some general tactics against skaven, not this list in specific. |

I realize that this topic is not "morning fresh" any more, but I wanted to comment on this:
It is illegal to use the same item twice with the exception of scrolls. So your opponent cannot field two Warlock Engineers with Storm Daemons. Second, I would recommend using a small unit of Carrion or Tomb Swarms to draw out the Plague Censor Bearers. My friend who plays Skaven uses a unit of 10 if he uses them at all, so I'm used to this. First of all, if he is stupid enough to give you line of sight on the PCBs, shoot them down. With Arrows of the Asp, you still hit them on 5+, so a unit of archers can knock them down flat in one or two rounds. Use Fear to your advantage. Other than the Plague Monks and PCBs, the rest of his army is likely to fail charges against you or flee from your charges. You will need to apply hammer and anvil tactics to beat the units you engage. Make sure you hit the flanks with something that can breaks rank bonuses, because if you do that, static combat res will win the combat for you. As far as putting up with Warp Lightning, just grin and bear it, and remember to screen your units so that he only picks off archers or something you can sacrifice. My opponent always throws 3 dice at the 2d6 hits version of the spell. At this point, I just screen my Ushabti and forget about it. If I have the magic power to spare, I heal blocks of troops. |

yeh i second that kinda, its not legal for 2 heroes to have same items...anyways try out the Prince with the death mask, dont bother with the ushabti unless he does use the Ratogre, ur best bet is to have few blocks skelies preferebly arched up, with chariots on the flanks
u gota remember that has a horrible Ld, but with SIN rule just charge them with chariot on the flanks, TS to take out the charectors, i wonder if i am one of the few that ever uses the mask i find it to be really usefull -------------------- For The KING! ! !
