mko-san, I'm not sure if there's a problem with your email server. I send an email reply to you several times, but they were bounced back every time. Just thought I should let you know.

what? where? how? *looks around*
I got one reply from you, to which I replied best I could xD ~ I'm not sure which email address you are referring to... i got like 5 of them that I use so one will certainly work for you ~ Send me emails to my gmx.net account [same username as for lafiel one], since that is my main mailbox and works for 90% of people.
Also include the error that you get form the mail server, I'll try looking into it.
Lily sends me emails all the time [hi! *waves at lily*] and they get to me fine so it should be all good for you as well.
PS do you all mind if I shorten your nicks when referring to you? cause some ppl do >_> ming, wolf, lily, etc ~ xD and you can refer to me by my name if you wish [ either mike or maiku both work for me]

I sent to your lafiel.com account. It doesn't work for me. Anyway, I just tried your gmx.net account. Hope that one works. I just want to thank you for your replies to my question. It's very helpful.

I would only like to give a few suggestions how to improve the website a bit, not that it has any problems or something.
*Picture with the girls and group's name [KissSub]. It looks a bit... plain to me. Would it be hard to change picture's background (change the white colour to, for example, blue), add some style (like WordArt or something here, in forum's picture) to the name and increase it's size to at least 26? Also, if it would be possible to make without incresing page loading time, increase that picture a bit so it would be even more bigger than box below?
*Adding some side decorations/background colour would also be nice. If you would add decorations, they should be small (not to make page loading time long). I mean side decorations like in Word > Format/Borders and shading/Page border/Style (or Art, but previous one might look better; just pick something playful)
*In my opinion, if you changed the colour of the words "Menu" and "Latest releases", so that it would differ from the boxes with links, it would also look nice. Also, I think "Menu" and "Latest releases" should have the same colour as the un-lighted link boxes (but more intense than them)
All of changes I mentioned are style changes, and I just said how it would look better to me; my post isn't criticism, just suggestion. They should be easy to make, and I think that they shouldn't increase loading time a lot. The current version is good enough, so if you like it, don't pay attention to my post. After all, everyone has different tastes (f.e. I hate orange colour)
mko_san - May 25, 2006 10:09 PM (GMT)
To comment on what you wrote, Cyra.
It is not possible to increase logo size without few major downsides:
- the file size increases, and eventually you have to lower quality as a counter measure, though the falsie will still be bigger then in this case.
- what you are talking about, is one piece fixed size logo. What you have here is a small part on the left and the small part on the right with nothing in between.
Also I do like the logo. Actually I made it.
It looks to me as though the site is flashy with orange/greenish colors as it is, dunno why would you want to add in more styles.
As to styles, feel free to take a look at
http://kisssub.lafiel.net/main.css if you think there are just few of them. Well changing the colors and backgrounds is fully possible via that file and its up to group to decorate final product. And again in this case, I did the decorating to my liking. I find that many people who seen it liked it, at least people I know. It's like with IPB forum - don't add too much color and not too bright, else you get poo [like those all-black or all red IPB skins, yuck]
I experimented some time ago with "Menu" and "Latest releases", and found that there is no significant visual difference. But that is a really easy mod to do if anybody would desire to do so.

yes, and this is the major problem I think.
I don’t like all-black or all-red sites, so I do understand your feelings. take a look at original coloring to see if you like it any better [since there is almost no orange] at sub.lafiel.net.
also, one more thing. When I asked for feedback I meant bugs, typos and usability. There is nothing wrong with posting your personal tastes though ^_^ Appreciate your time and desire to share your opinion with us. Thanks! <3

me hates quites of her own messages. Still, it's a bit better than repeating myself.
I didn't want to insult you either - it's just isn't my style to be rude.
Well, and about your reply.. Let's say that these sentences would be enough for me :
"Also I do like the logo"
"I did the decorating to my liking"
"many people who seen it liked it"
As long as you and other people are fine with it, it really doesn't need changes, as I said two times before; I wrote suggestions, not orders or something, and I really didn't want to say that something is bad, especially when all is fine. I didn't want to insult you either - it's just isn't my style to be rude to someone I don't know.
About logo size and colour : yeah, stupid me, I didn't check was it two pictures in sides or one fixed size. It was my mistake and I recognise it.
About the styles and text boxes : as I mentioned, two boxes without links look almost the same as ones with links, if you don't hold your cursor over the links. That's the only thing why I thought change of colour/style is needed. If you think it looks fine - then it is fine, I don't have problems with this.
Almost no one likes all-black or all-red, and I really didn't post because I hate orange. I just said this as example about different tastes with no hidden meaning.
About the typos: Lastest = Latest, if I understood it's meaning well (forms of word late - later, latter; latest, last)
If you think my posts are offtopic - feel free to remove them.
Ok, me is going back into her lair to hide for some time...

Aaaw weep don't be upset by mike, Cyra - he's just a bit more concerned with the technical side of things since he's the one who set up the site for us. Actually, you may not know this, but he isn't actually KissSub staff - he's a fan just like you who very generously decided to set up a website for us all on his own, so we are really greatful.
I thought this would be a good place for mike to get some external feedback, but obviously he doesn't seem that intrerested in stuff other than site bugs, so sorry for putting everyone in an awkward position. -_-
To be honest Cyra, I agree with some of your opinions, but after speaking with him and seeing how much trouble he went to to do all those designs for us, we thought it might be best to leave things as they are for now, lol! We might look at changing things ourselves a little later on when we are looking after the site ourselves.
mko_san - May 26, 2006 06:11 AM (GMT)
I would not dare to comment on what you wrote wolf, since only bad things could come form it, yes...
*me pretends not to see parts of wolf's post*
--- @Cyra
Did I say I misunderstood you somewhere? nah, I got your message and tried to respond to as polite as, um, as I could >_>
And well spotted with lastest, it of course should have been 'latest'.
Quoting yourself isn't all that bad; think that you could have referred to yourself in third person... xP
and...

how can the website feedback be offtopic in website feedback topic?
ah, what the heck - *deletes Cyra's post* xD xD xD xD (joudan da, joudan)
wolfmier - May 26, 2006 08:28 AM (GMT)
Ok, I've changed the topic to "Website Technical Feedback/Bug Reporting" to avoid any further confusion.
Mike, sorry if I offended you - that honestly wasn't my intention at all. I've obviously come across the wrong way, but that tends to happen to me sometimes ^^;. Everyone here is really grateful for all your hard work and everything you've done to help us out!
mko_san - May 26, 2006 09:14 AM (GMT)
Comeon, wolf ^_^ you take things too seriously. I won't hesitate to tell you off if you ever offend me, so you'll be sure know when that happened ^_^ I know what your intention was, even if you didn't put it into words in the most fortunate way. So don't worry about it, ne?
and you can never avoid confusion, regardless of how you name the topics. I've been around forums and internet log enough to learn this much xD

Thank you for subbing Jyu oh sei.
I am wondering why is it that when I click on a torrent link they never work.
I have to right click on the link,
then Save as,
then rename the file from avi.avi to avi.torrent.
Then I have to double click and open the file that was renamed to .torrent to begin the file transfer.
Do you make the links this way to prevent too many people from downloading? Is this to limit the amount of bandwidth being used. Is this a new trend?
One of the groups subbing Nana does the same thing with their torrent links.
wolfmier - June 29, 2006 01:11 PM (GMT)
no, it's not intentional. this is probably my fault but I'm not exactly sure what I've done wrong. I'm sure mike can answer this question.

No, this is not indented. I'll look into the code to see what's causing that as soon as I'm done with my uni exams that had dragged onto my summer vacation [actually one project and one exam].
And thank you for feedback, Pikachu, I really appreciate it. I've been getting so little of it T_T
Dreamshredder - July 27, 2006 08:14 AM (GMT)
i was having the same problem as you. <_< , i was stuck for about an hour trying to figure out what was wrong and how to fix it, then i noticed your post and did exactly as it said to copy the link and type .torrent, i luv you for that man <3
mko_san - July 28, 2006 09:14 AM (GMT)
Everything in due time, everything in due time... I haven't forgotten about the issue.
Currently I'm fighting with template engine and type_cast errors it spits out at me ~ Once I'm done with that, I look into that problem you are having.
mko_san - August 5, 2006 12:29 AM (GMT)
As promised, I looked into the link thing. The problem seems to be on the server side, that is how the server handles mime types (it sees avi.whatever as avi). I don't think I have the access to mime settings, I'll ask admin perhaps.
I did a work-around though, forcing the server to think that the file we are d/ling is different than what it think it is. As a result you should be prompted to save the torrent file.
Please note that this work-around can only work for files that are hosted on our website. It won't work with externally linked files.
Please leave the feedback here if this worked for you.
Even though nobody noticed, there is a weird problem with rss breaking the links on '+' sign, I'll look into that in some not-so-far-off future.
@wolf - I did ask this topic to be sticked long, long time ago, I belive. I've been wondering for quite a while now why that request was ignored and silently denied.
mko_san - August 5, 2006 05:09 PM (GMT)
Update:
I did ask admin, and while as I thought I can't change mime settings (as we have confixx control panel that sux badly), but fortunately we are able to play around with .htaccess files, and that alows to force filetypes of files within given folder. This is more efficient way to do it, then the work-around script I wrote, so I switched the scipt off and went ahead with setting up .htaccess correctly.
I could really use some feedback on this. After all you were the ones who wanted it fixed, no?
