This is awful. I hope you won't be offended if I say a prayer for you. Sounds like a good lawyer could be a lifesaver. Hoping for the best.

4:30 - We (us, Joanne and Cedric) sit at the realtors office for 2 hours while my realtor yells at people at the title company, and my finance dipstick. While she is yelling, Joanne and I decide to write a contract. We rentthe house until Tuesday for $25 a day and give my finance and title folks time to get it together. While Sherri (our realtor) is yelling at the title folks, our finace guru calls Mrs. AW's cell. She starts crying. I take the phone away and explain to Patrick, in much more colorful language than I will put here, that I have had 6 heart attacks, if this causes number 7, he better pray I die or otherwise I'm driving to Pittsburg to his office.....and it won't be to shake his hand. Sherri hangs up, we show her the promisary note and the check for a hundred.....she says good to go, I've been assured that we will close on Monday at 11:00.
Saturday and Sunday - We're a blur of cleaning and emptying boxes and puting stuff away. If you ever need to clean really, really, REALLY nasty floors...I would like to recommend "Greased Lightning" and a green scrubby pad...and a butt-ton of elbow grease. We don't stick to the kitchen floors when we walk on them anymore smile.gif
The kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms get cleaned withing an inch of their lives. One more note about "greased lightning", wear rubber gloves, have decent ventilation, and wash once, rinse twice wink.gif Sunday we went to Lowes (a major home improvements store) and bought a large lawn tractor...I'm gonna cut some grass come Thursday when its delivered.
Monday - We continued the same...except we moved to the basement. About 10:30 we're informed closing been pushed to Tuesday at 10:00.
Tuesday - We're pretty much done with all things large, so it's off to Lowes for curtain rods, blinds, some paint colors, a huge new pantry cabinet for Mrs. AW (like the 15 cabinets we have, and the small pantry isn't enough already). At 9:30, Sherri calls...guess what, closing's been put off until Wednesday at 11:00...but this is firm now (LOL). I call the boss...beg for another day off. He said no. I point out to him that Patrick, the finance guy, was recommended by him, and if he was any good I would have closed the week before. He gave me the day off with pay wink.gif
Wednesday - We became homeowners, well, us and the bank.
Saturday - Mrs. AW walked into the bedroom while I was getting dressed, and handed me a flyer for the Humane Society...she said "finish up, we're going to get a dog". Her name is Tiffany, she's 2 years old, a Coon Hound-Shepard mix who is a bit underweight for the moment, and she like sleeping on the bed between us (we took a nap today). She doesn't like her kennel at all, and Mrs. AW is hellbent on making the spare bedroom hers...after all, it has a queensize bed already.

So, that's it so far. Yes, I will take pics of Tiffany, and stuff as we do it to the house. My "honey-Do" list lengthens daily....wish me luck.

By the way Eudelphia, I never turn down the offer of a prayer.

Sorry, for those of you that were wondering about the garbage bags...
seems Cedric, or Joanne loaded a couple of our bags into their vehicles. It included my new electric razor, my beard trimmer, 2 sets of clothes for the whole family, my electric toothbrush and replacement brushes, soap, shampoo, etc. They can't find them anywhere still !!
I am also having to pay to have their extra stuff (dining room set, sofa and misc stuff) hauled away...seems they don't want it now.

Suddenly the pressure I've been placing on Mr Dark to get us out of our current home and into another seems misplaced.

Your adventure makes moving much less appealing.

PS. My RL sister's name is Tiffany... heh

Dark's CC: it seems that this is normal, according to my finance guy...it's just everyone else in the business that says it isn't wink.gif

Tiffany (my hound, not Dark's CC's sister) is all about being a 75 pound lap dog. Mrs. AW's new mission is teaching her the difference between formal furniture and everyday furniture.....heh...good luck with that !

QUOTE (Advanced Weaponry @ May 1 2005, 03:59 AM)

When I was a kid, my neighbors had a 75lb dog that liked to sit on my lap. And this was back when I didn't weigh anywhere close to 75lbs. I used to walk that dog and an even bigger dog at the same time, because it was a more efficient way to earn cash. The neighborhood cats are lucky I developed good grip and disproportionately large legs at an early age, is all I gotta say about that rofl.gif

I hope that Tiffany is a short dark haried dog. Because living with a long haired fluffy white dog (my big baby Wylie the Kuvasz) is a house cleaning nightmare.

Tell Mrs. AW there is only two types of furniture now. The stuff Tiffany LOVES to sit on, and the stuff that's only good occasssionally to sit on. rofl.gif

Update:
Well, today is the first day of painting. We're accomplishing two rooms this weekend. Kitchen and florida room. The florida room has 16 windows, so it's gonna be a buttload of cutting in.
We're going to use Kilz on all walls. Kils (if you don't already know) is a primer that is also a stain coverer. It will keep stains and such from bleeding through the final color coat. I highly recommend it.
Anyway, I expect sore feet, arms and shoulders tonight. Pictures as we can.

Don't forget to open those 16 windows when using Kilz. It can eliminate more than one braincell, if you breathe that stuff in too much.

Lunar Phase: Notice:
The LPS is an experimental service for those of you with many, many puppets.

As nations not on vacation mode have a life span of 28 days — and as the phases of the moon change on roughly the same schedule — Lemuria offers this method to make the not-quite-a-month time table more convenient. Comments?
