Well, spurred on by a topic on another forum that made me remember the old days (around 6-9 years ago) when I began to use the internet every chance I got (which I still do). I went and visited some of the old websites that were my daily haunt's when I wasn't in school. This one included. However, one site in particular took my interest, and for good reason...It was the first forum I ever joined: EXE WARRIORS.

That's right, I was there. I was there when the site was still in its infancy. Still slowly but surely growing larger and larger. I was also there when the first Role Play Battle System was first established. I was there for a lot of the site's firsts, under the name Saku. Soon however, I wanted to make my own proboards, and I did, I made many of them, wanting to be like EXE Warriors...but I failed every time. I was just not cut out for running a forum.

However, one particular one I made, was ransacked by one of EXE WARRIORS' admins, over one forum being an (unintentional) duplicate-in-name of one of his own. This was PhantomZero, and I was soon banned for picking a fight with the guy on the forums. Soon, he was banned for a time for becoming power-driven (sound like anyone we all used to know from a certain community?). After that I left for other sites affiliated with it, and soon moved on to here, and other websites.

It has been at least 7-8 years since that incident, and today I find the first forum I ever joined dead at my proverbial feet. Nobody had posted for over a year, and the most recent post was Jul 17th 2010. The EXE WARRIORS have finally died away...

Honestly? I never conceived of the place actually dying off for good, I just thought it would have its ups and downs in activity, but would all in all keep going strong. Life however has dealt the final hand to the website, and who is responsible cannot be named, since there is no perpetrator. The forum's life has just naturally extinguished itself. Like most forums will in time.

So far in my Net Life, I have seen 4 different websites die for mostly the same reason: lack of member activity, and one that was perpetrated by a guy whose username we all don't care to remember, the entire community fragmented by the event. The other three were of the former cause...

-but what makes EXE WARRIORS so special to me in this case, as you have gathered by now, is because it was the first website I ever joined up with, and the first one I enjoyed a good time on.

R.I.P.
EXE WARRIORS...

Nothing lasts forever. Especially web stuff. It sounds like they had a good run, though.

What?! But that means that this site will end someday, too.

NO! I WON'T ACCEPT THIS! THIS SITE WILL BE AROUND FOREVER!!!

.....And now, the awkwardness of everyone thinking about when this site is going to die.

But you know what? Nothing good lasts forever. That's what makes us value them.

The fact that something ends does not mean that it cannot be conserved and admired.
Sinister 6 site, that is all I will say.

Yeah, I had a lot of good and bad memories there. The admin, Sara, and The Helldragon are the two members I remember the most prominently aside from PhantomZero. A lot of good people were there.

.Hack://Encryption is another website I haunted a few years ago. It had a decent role-playing system and a lot of people who were damn good roleplayers. I wouldn't even begin to call myself one since the personalities of a lot of my characters are based off my own. It's just hard for me to act like someone I am not as a whole.

My first username there was Cypher (I was a Tsukasa recolor unfortunately) and I kept constantly changing my name and character until I found one I was comfortable using. Then I got too rowdy and got myself banned. A couple years later, their Ban List was erased and I used that chance to get a new name and start with a clean slate. I lead a long net-life there as Gari Targandago (or the last username I had there: Gari Omega). That was the second to last time I joined a good Role-Play forum. Ever since the admins left, the site has been in Maintainence Mode, and my attempts to contact the administrator failed.

Oh well, right? It had a good 3-4 year run.

The Mechs' however have been here much longer, and I have a lot of history both good and bad with you guys.

Honestly, I want this site to last as long as it can.
