Why hello there. If you by chance have stumbled upon this topic of mine after reading the title and have advice regarding the issue about to be presented within, I'd appreciate it be made available for me to read.

Introduction aside, I want to buy a PSP, if by some bizarre circumstance you did not know already crorqsmilingrun.gif

Currently I have my eyes on some 3000 series articles I could definitely buy without a problem. I have completely ruled out getting a Go model due to the rather inconvenient factors of lack of UMD drive and smaller screen, but also because of the sliding design which is rather inferior when material fatigue is considered, even if such a device should by no means break even with regular use, within a decade at best. Aside from this the 2 systems appear to have the same hardware or at least parts with equivalent capabilities. Another, and by far more important, situation that makes me reluctant to buy a Go is that in my country there are barely any means to acquire games and other media from the PSN Store platform; this is related to distribution of PSN Cards, nonexistent, and that credit cards here cannot be used to buy PSN Store credits apparently.

Now that all that is out of the way let me give you some info on the articles I'm considering in question - arranged from top(most likely to buy) to bottom(least likely to buy):

-God of War Bundle ->$250+

-Metal Gear Peacewalker Bundle ->$230

-Metal Gear Peacewalker Big Boss Bundle ->$230

-Invizimals Bundle ->$240

-Core Piano Black Pack ->$200

I should be going on a shopping trip this Saturday to get one of these, but I'd like to get some more opinions before making up my mind (even if I have been planning this for about 2 months now wtf) and making my purchase effective. Do notice that I list the average prices I can get these items at right here, the ones on the links given are not directly relevant.

Again, if you have any helpful input whatsoever, please do tell.

Note: I am aware of the upcoming NGP system which should be out next year or so, but I still want a current PSP.

</lurkmode re-engaged>

EDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the GoW pack, I REGRET NOTHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!

Also, apparently I was wrong about the supposed Big Boss pack, it is indeed a camo psp with the game, but that is it for the package I found. I do wonder why they released this "toned down" version of it.

I own the Peace Walker Big Boss Pack (surprise!) and I carry it daily. I haven't hacked it or anything.

I love it. The camo paint scheme is way more durable than I expected it to be, since my PSP doesn't show a scratch after 9 months of continuous carry. Then again, I always carry it inside the green zip up pouch that was included in the BB Pack, which is lined with microfiber.

My one complaint is that the internet connection has never worked for me. I don't have wireless, so whenever I've tried I've had to go elsewhere, like Starbucks. But even with a claimed 100% connection, the PSP has consistently failed to connect. I had my old PSP-1000 connected a few times (though that too was a finicky piece of shit when it came to internet).

But, if you want to d/l games from Playstation Network onto the system, you can use your computer and Sony's Media Go program. Transfer time with this program can be pretty slow, though.

I just downloaded Rockman 3 from the PS Network, so now I can practice on the go.

Other than these issues, the system has been very reliable, looks cool as hell, and the amount of battery life I've gotten from it has sometimes surprised me.

I'm also really digging the peacewalker PSP. Got it for christmas last year and i just couldn't et over how shiny it is. If you like shiny things which you should, get the peaceawalker bundle. Haven't actually gotten around to actualy playing peacewalker yet, but i'v heard it' pretty rad.
@Bigboss: Does anything on the PSP actually use online stuff? Since so far everything seems to use that adhoc shit.(Screw you dissidia, i'm not getting a PS3 or messing around with that frustrating xlink kai program just to play you online.)

Some of the extra content that gets released needs the internet to work, like Peace Walker's various Walkman songs and additional camouflage patterns.

I happened to get mine updated via metalgearsolid.org's archive that they provided, which I then uploaded to my PSP via my computer.

So, there are ways around directly hooking your PSP up to the internet using WiFi, but I feel it's irksome because its supposed to be part of the package you pay for. Maybe the WiFi in my city just sucks. That probably feeds into the whole "Detroit is the meanest city in America" title we've officially earned. Too mean for good internet.

Shift, did you get the skull camouflage PSP or the bright metallic Peace Walker PSP? The camouflage edition has a matte finish to it, which feels slick to the touch.

Thanks for the input, sorry I couldn't answer earlier but uni keeps Rare busy.

I think the Big BAWS pack would actually be better in terms of what I spend and what I get. Now, though the shiny green PSP does look cool (a friend I am going shopping with this weekend has it) it has relatively less compared to the other pack - the Mem. stick is 2Gb on the green one and 4Gb on the camo and the carrying case is a big plus too when you contrast what you would be getting instead on the other pack: objectively, nothing; in terms of items, the 2012 movie voucher.

I forgot to mention that when I was browsing the stores about 3 weeks ago, there was but ONE Big Boss in ONE of them, so it is a matter of luck whether it is still there when I go on Saturday. crorqsneaky.gif
