Saw this vid yesterday (long time subscriber of FPS Russia) and I was thoroughly impressed. Somebody actually went and made the Cyphers from MGS2 a reality it seems.
You can actually buy these quad flyers at GameStop, though they obviously don't have machine guns or really sophisticated controls like that. I suppose it was only a matter of time before DARPA figured that they could get a whole lot more use out of them if they beefed them up, armed them, and put a bomb in it. Then you figure that eventually they can use these things to quell riots from above using less-lethal ammunition (shotgun with rubber slugs or V-rings) or tear gas. The technology is certainly cool, but I do shudder when I think about who might be using it and for what purpose. On a side note, I still wonder what the hell FPS Russia does for a living that allows him to play with such badass hardware. -------------------- ![]() |
