Mission Interrupted, Dark & sinister, History repeats itself

[Severus Snape]

Severus cackled, about Sirius's plight in the Leaky Cauldron, to himself as he chose which brick to tap with his wand. The wall became an archway and Severus stepped into Diagon Alley on his way to the more sinister street, Knockturn Alley.

[Scarlet Black]

Scarlet went out of the back of the pub just in time to see Severus walk down the street. She stuffed her hands in her pocket her right holding onto her wand. She knew he had cast a spell on Sirius. She stayed silent as she followed him.

[Severus Snape]

Severus continued to walk briskly through Diagon Alley, directly towards the dingy entrance to Knockturn Alley. Before he entered, he looked around to see if he was being watched. If he was seen going down Knockturn Alley, they'd know he was up to no good. He looked evil to start with, which had it's disadvantages. Gotta be careful about this, he thought to himself. That's when he spotted Scarlet behind him. He stopped abruptly, and turned to face her. "And where do you think you're going, Missy?" He asked, not really wanting an answer.

[Scarlet Black]

Scarlet froze afraid of what to say. "I...um..." She stammered. She held her wand tighter. "I know you hexed my brother..." She looked away from him, he hadn't even noticed she had been gone for a long time, almost since she was out of school. "Don't...don't you think you're a bit too old for shit like that?"

[Severus Snape]

"So what if I hexed him in there?" Severus blurted out. "You know for a fact that he'd never miss a chance to get at me." He took a few menacing steps towards Scarlet, closing the gap that was between them. "Now stop following me!" He breathed the last three words at her face so she would be able to feel his breath in her mouth.

[Scarlet Black]

Scarlet stood still too scared to move. "Wh-why would you think I would let him?" She still didn't understand why he hated her. Though she never had the nerve to ask him. "H-he wouldn't h-have known you were there i-if I could have distracted him." Her fear of him showed in her voice.

[Severus Snape]

Severus enjoyed hearing Scarlet's voice, especially when it showed fear. It sent a shiver down his spine, and gave him a funny feeling in the region of his gut. "Mmm... ...hm." He quickly covered his groan of longing for her, as he still had a mission for the Dark Lord. As he remembered this fact, he absently scratched at his left forearm. "Well, nice chat." Sarcasm dripped from every syllable, as he turned abruptly and walked off, hoping on one hand that she'd follow and on the other hand that she wouldn't. Somehow knowing that she would, he resigned to a speed that he knew she'd be able to keep up with on his way to Knockturn Alley.

[Scarlet Black]

Scarlet watched his leave for a few moments then walked after him. "S-Severus? C-can I ask you something?" She asked as she reached him and took his arm gently. She wanted to know why he broke up with her and why he hated her.

[Severus Snape]

Severus allowed Scarlet to take his arm, but gave her a shrewd, calculating glare, as if he was trying to read her mind. "You wanna know why I broke up with you, and why Isupposedly hate you." He'd succeeded. "Well, I broke up with you because..."He kept her arm in his, by bending his elbow to allow her wrist to rest in the crook of it, and tightened his upper arm to his body to pin her armm to his side as he went down the 'forbidden' Knockturn Alley. "...it was too dangerous for both of us if I kept coming to see you when you're so close to Sirius..." He gritted his teeth at the mention of her brother. "...and for the record, I don't hate you."

[Scarlet Black]

"But I bet you didn't even notice I was gone for years. Wh-why are we going down here?" Scarlet was still scared though she was more worried now. She moved closer to him, for the protection she use to feel when with him.
