I am... proudly announcing that little Douglas took his first steps on New Years eve... I was enticing him with a shiny blue ipod, but he ended up glomping towards the backgammon game his cousins were playing.

I am... actually completely sober now. The drinks I had at work wore off on the train, but not before I made some rather suspect facebook posts with my phone.

I am... whoo hooing about Pterry! How awesome is THAT!? Sir Pterry... nice ring to it.

I am... taking my sore throat and head to bed now, where I will proceed to cough up my other lung.

I am ... Fearful that the headache I had hoped would only be a migraine seems to be developing into a full blown rather nasty bug of some kind .. And when I say nasty, I mean nasty, I never get headaches like this for anything less! *bugger and damnation!*

I am .. Not sure if I will bother to see in the UK New Year ... I tend to be a bit of a humbug at this time, we have a couple of death anniversaries from today until the 2nd January which always takes the edge off a bit!

I am... at the thought of Sir Pterry wearing Cmdr Vimes get-up, especially the plumed helmet, and the very fetching tights. Methinks Sir Pterry will be bedecked in black, as is his wont. And also because he's a Knight, not a Duke. And yes...

I am...going to take full credit for his Knighthood, courtesy of my very odd dream, which involved wheat farmers and handless p*nk ninjas(!!). Just call me Mystic Meg!

Anyways, I am hoping everybody is chipper and chirpy and everything, and that the new year is good to you all. Big times for everyone!

I am .. Hoping it's happening now so I'm free of bugs for the Scotland jaunt, after all don't want to be all buggy with a new born baby about the place ... Its certainly heading the way of tonsillitis ... I hate that because I NEVER look/sound ill and the number of times I've been to the Doctors over the years if it hasn't cleared up on its own and the conversation goes something like this ...
Dr ... 'Well, you don't sound too bad.'
Me ... 'Honest, my throat looks like it's doing the tonsillitis quick-step!'
Dr .. 'If you're sure I'll take a look ..... '
To which I always get a surprised 'Oh, see what you mean!' when they check on it!

ILMJN on the other hand loses her voice etc at the slightest thing so people can relate to what she goes through (not doing ILMJN down here btw) and I think part of the reason I get so cranky these days is because I know that if people don't know me they seem to think I must be lying because I seem so fine, and that really, really annoys me! Hence, one VERY cranky IM2, it's bad enough being ill without having to justify it the whole time!

But on that note, knowing how easily ILMJN can pick up throat infections ..

I am .. Telling ILMJN that it may be best to stay away from me for the time being if at all possible!

I am .. All Abba'ed out after watching the Mamma Mia DVD MJN/ILMJN got me for Christmas ... *humming 'Dancing Queen'!*

OK, not sure who can give any suggestions, but at this time of year I like to give myself a little treat, and this year I've decided to buy some nice (but not TOO expensive) perfume .. Normally I just some buy some spray on scent from somewhere like Boots ... Here is the link to the Boots site to give you an idea of the sort of store it is if you don't have Boots stores in foreign climes .. Boots

But the thing is I really object to 'celebrity fragrances'! I hate the idea of buying something that will line the pocket of a celebrity simply because they are just that, a celebrity!

I like light fragrances, things like vanilla, patchouli, White musk, Jasmine, Ylang-ylang

If anybody has ideas I could go into the larger Boots store in Burnley that has quite a large fragrance department and have a look-see .....
