I am... suggesting that everyone goes into the 2006 thread (I will leave it in the general forum for a few days before archiving it) and click on a few random pages. The memories this brings back...

I am hoping that everyone has a happy (and safe) New Years and a great year!

I am...wishing the people who are in 2007 a Happy New Year, and those who are still in 2006, a Happy Almost New Year. I saw the new year in by snuggling up with my duvet and leccie blankie and reading 'Lords and Ladies'...very Rock'n'Roll.

I am... snuggling up with my duvet, leccie blanket and cat right now I'm clean, dry, warm and fed. I spent last night on my friend's couch in her freezing student flat in town... in wet jeans (it was raining and another friend spilled their beer on me...) and just a sheet. Brrrrr.

I am... admitting that last night we got a bit... Merry. Tequila type merry. Never mind.

I am... wanting to know why we are either freezing or snuggled up with blankets and animals when we should be in shorts and singlets? So not fair.

I am... hoping every one is warm and happy, with some time off and something good to read

I am..... walking in and waving a hello to our NZ buddies....... We are now into a rather blustery 2007 over here. A shame that the Scottish events had to be cancelled due to the weather conditions. Very high winds here last night!
Although it didn't stop them letting off fireworks until 3.30am! Nutters - most were going horizontally because of the wind anyway!

I am.... now about to pop across to my sisters with her dog crate which she had to leave her just before Xmas after coming out with us, and leaving her dog here so she could be let out for a run in the yard with ours. Also need to take a CD rewriter over - so she can transfer some of her music etc across from a very aging PC!

I am...sayin', I hear ya, ILMJN, 'bout thuh fireworks muh dogs were barkin' all thru thuh nite because of firecrackers. "Nutters" is right!

I am...sayin, dangitall, if I didn't git iny ferther in muh PTerry books. They lay there half read. But, they were playin' marathon runs of muh fave 'Mercan TV shows, thuh Law-and-Order series. I luv all three, L&O; L&O,SVU; and L&O, CI. I jes' git wrapped up in those.

I am...sayin' SK, that thuh "BOYS" are gitten suckier as time goes by. They lost to thuh lousiest team, thuh Detroit Lions, yesterday. Suck, Suck, Suck!! Oh, and did I mention, they suck?

I am...sayin' thuh New Year brings even more struggles wit muh losin' weight. I done good on thuh exercisin; I been faithfully exercising three times a week fer twenty ta thirty minutes, I added a rowin' exercise fer aerobics even. But I "gotta git serious" (doctors orders) about thuh weight loss. This is gonna be ah bugger-bear, ya'll. So, haul out yer pom-poms as I'm sure I'll need cheerin' on A LOT. I have ta lose fifty pounds. I had lost ten last year and gained it back. Doesn't this sound like ah bad reality T.V. show?

I am...sayin' ya' think wit all thuh dancin' I'm doin' fer Mandana I'd lose weight.

I am... doing a little cheer for hetane! Woot! It is achievable! I have seen people do amazing things with their weight and we are all here for support and cyber hugs!

I am... up. With an entire day ahead of me. See, I showed up for work only to find out that my boss gave me 4 entire days off over New Years! I just never checked the roster since she changed it. Oops. They said I could still work if I wanted the money, but I decided to come home. A certain nephew needs to go shopping for wedding clothes and his parents don't arrive until tomorrow. Now, I should really tidy my room since my brother is sleeping in it the night before his wedding. I'm always the first to have to give up my room, since it's the tidiest.

I am... hoping everyone is well and gets some nice surprises (like an entire free 8 1/2 hours that you would have spent sleeping otherwise!)

I am...whinging. Coldest Kiwi December in 50-years. Meh!

I am...done reading Lords and Ladies now. Twas very good, and we recommend. I'm going to read Interesting Times next, but this time I'm not going to read it in conjunction with my textbooks, and especially not when I'm tired. I'd wake up thinking Nanny Ogg had spouted all this stuff about ebonics and cultural diaspora and positivism and the like. Was very discombobulating, to say the least.

I am...wondering where half the smilies have gone?! Come back lil blinking fella! And lil ninja dude.

I am...hoping you got all your chores done, ILMJN, and that the weather has perked up a bit for you guys, now. :-)

I am...condoling hetane about the 'mercan football. I also saw that not long after that game, one of Denver's players was killed in a drive-by shooting. Beggars belief really.

I am...saying after a draw with the league leaders, and a 3-1 win over the second placed team, DUFC copped an absolute towelling - 5-1 - at the hands of Falkirk, who we were level with on the table. Now that's more like it.

I am...saying, 'what NZBG said!' You can do it, hetane. :-)

I am...also suggesting two things...water, and chewing gum. If you feel hungry, get a glass of water or make a cup of tea(with as little sugar as you can manage) instead of a bite to eat. Just filling up your belly with liquid rather than food will help the hunger pangs, so long as the liquid is healthy. :-) And also, I found chewing gum really helpful, because it gives your jaw something to do, especially at those times when you can demolish half a bag of sweeties without realising...like when you're on the computer, or watching the tv...and you also can't really eat anything else while you're chomping away on it. I am...hearing tonight that December in NZBG's part of the country was the coldest for 70 years. That is just downright rude, and I condole NZBG. ((((NZBG))))))

I am... saying, "I know!" So cold. Grrrr. Still is. It's supposed to be the middle of summer and I'm sitting here in a woolen jersey and a big hoodie. (((SK)))

I am... swallowing to test my throat and ugging. It has been getting worse all day. I caught tonsillitis off my niece. I know this because it hurts more on the left, where they left a bit of tonsil in when they were being removed. I don't wanna work the morning!

I am..... hoping that NZBG isn't going down with a nasty lurgy! Especially since you are shivering with the cold weather anyway! In contrast.....

I am... saying its mild for this time of year. Some flowers are even trying to bloom about 3 months too early! Not warm by any stretch, but we've hardly had to feed the horses hay so far this year! Got almost through until Xmas before needing to feed, and again the grass is attempting to grow. Having said that, we might need it for the summer if the weather gives us another heatwave - which will also stop the grass dead!

I am.... hoping the boards markers are all back in place where they should be! Just need to sort out the other boards now!

I am.... wondering what we are going to eat tonight. MJN has some serious problems with her jaw/teeth - which we are getting sorted, but doesn't allow for much eating on her part! I think soup is going to be needed!

I am... curled up on the sofa with a quilt, a cat and a laptop. Yeah... I took the day off. I had to get my mum to phone in sick for me because I had no voice.

SK, suck about the weather. We are having a beautiful day today, not a cloud in the sky. We are even having a BBQ for dinner when my brother and his wife get here from the airport. These are the parents of the nephew staying with us from Chch, not the ones that are getting married tomorrow or the ones in SK's corner of the world).

I am... excited because they are bringing our new kitten with them! It has 6 toes on each foot! But we can't call it Cletus or Clyde because those names are taken by it's father (in Chch) and brother (in SK's corner of the world!)

I am... going to watch some Stargate until they arrive. Ack, or change the sheets on my bed for my brother. That's right, kick the sick one out of their room just because of some stupid old wedding tradition/superstition.

*edit to add* Hah! they are letting me keep my bed and booting my nephew out of the 2nd guest room. Heh. Heh.

Oohh... my sister just met one of the new in-laws. I'm glad I wasn't there... my sister made a throw away comment about the last time they met being when the sister in-law was on the way back from the big anti-gay march on parliament (SK, she is Destiny Church). Then she mentioned that if we didn't have school, we would have been on the counter march in rainbow tshirts.

Ooops, big mistake. Apparently my brother stepped in a few times to defend my sister, but she handled herself pretty well in the resulting conversation. I'm glad I wasn't there, because there are things I would have had to say... And a huge argument wouldn't be fair on my other brother on the week of his wedding.

I am...saying that it did eventually turn nice, NZBG, but for ages I was still freezing, despite the clock at H&J's saying it was 19degC. Oh, and I finally got around to buying a new heater. Good Thing = toesies are now warm ; Bad Thing = am having to put up with that lovely 'new heater' smell, which is making me sneeze.

I am...sending another Get Well hug to NZBG and MJN.

I am...going Awwww!! at the lil kitty. What an absolute honey.

I am...suggesting Buddy or Bubba for the lil kitty, which are also fairly stereotypical 'mountain' names. Actually, don't call him Buddy, because that was my former BiL's FiL, and he was a total [insert derogatory noun of your choice here]. My black Mama kitty is called Bubba, but she doesn't have extra toes. She's only got one tooth left though, so that counts.

I am... at the new Destiny Church connection to your family, NZBG. Eegads! That will make for some fun family get together's. Oh well, it will give you a chance to practice your political debating skills, NZBG.

I am...WOOT!-ing a lil, because I managed to pick up Colour of Magic today. Maybe we could compare notes later on, hetane?

I am...going to finish my coffee, wash my hair, read some more set text's, then go back to bed. Had a nap this evening, so I'll probably be awake till 5am or so. *shrugs*
