Is it possible to appeal to Coastal Productions, Wire in the Blood, with Robson Green, to cast Mandana Jones as a regular or guest star on the show? It would be great to see Mandana and Simone Lahbib acting together again.

Unfortunately while a great idea - Mandana is taking time away from acting. This means its unlikely she herself would be interested in any roles for now. We will let people know as soon as we know any differently.
The information we had from Mandana can be found at this thread:

We would urge people not to bombard companies with such suggestions because of Mandana's decision to take some time out, since it is likely to do no more at the moment than be a nuisance for the company involved having to spend extra time dealing with these requests.

Sorry....from the "Small Snippet of INFO", my impression was that Mandana Jones could not get any good roles. So, she has been doing adverts for Kohler faucets and Green flag. Short and sweet roles probably so she can focus, admirably, on being a mother. America is just now viewing Bad Girls and it isn't fair because we can't express our enthusiasm. The accolades are 6 to 8 yrs too late to MJ and Simone Lahbib. Regretably, American TV is very tame compared to British TV. BAD Girls is on Logo TV, an alternative lifestyle station, and not on a mainstream channel. PBS airs British dramas and comedies but nothing as controversial or gritty. Although, we did get Absolutely fabulous, Prime Suspect, and Cracker. The US can't handle the graphic nature of Bad Girls or maybe the Nikki and Helen love story. I think we Americans are repressed and still rather puritanical. I was thinking of writing Shed productions to encourage them to get going with a sequel for Helen and Nikki. I thought they could be barristers or solicitors or detectives and rough up a male dominated profession or something. I can't imagine Mandana in a wool wig though, Rumpole style...not sexy. From the bloopers and trailers, Mandana and Simone do have comedic talent, eg, goofy faces and great timing. They could do visual slapstick comedy, eg Absolutely fabulous type stuff. How about it Maureen Cadwick, Ann McManus,Eileen Gallagher, and Brian Park. Shed must realize the popularity of Mandana and simone? They could make big bucks getting those two back together again.

I agree that we should keep the names of Mandana and Simone out there to let producers and others know that they are still loved and have star quality and drawing power. So, I disagree that by writing different companies we would be bombarding them with inquiries or such.

The snipet referenced was written about eight months ago. All kinds of things could have occured and changed in that amount of time. Mandana is a wonderful actress who I'm certain would appreciate at least an occasional role or two to remain sharp at her craft and make a bit of money.

Jea, we have been in contact (in the last few weeks most recently) since the information was first sent to us from Mandana, and currently she is taking some time out and concentrating on being a mum with a job more suited to allow this. This means at the moment the chance of any acting is pretty non existent.
We are as gutted as others that its not happening for Mandana at the moment for a number of reasons (and I would also stress this isn't just about the lack of work that has meant Mandana took the decision for some time off acting).

We appreciate her fans want to see her out there doing work (please also remember we're also in that group) but we also have to respect her decision to step back at this time. All we can hope is that it isn't for too long as she is able to return to acting sooner rather than later.

Each person, no matter who they are go through different life stages. At this stage, I'm sure being a mum and being there for her son is an important priority for Mandana (Beyond the fact that there are a lack of suitable roles). Perhaps one reason the roles are unsuitable is also because of the time it demands and the difficulty for her to juggle her work as an actress and that of being a mother.

Unlike Simone who has the support of family to help her look after her daughter while she films WITB, Mandana's situation could be very different. Taking a step back is never an easy decision and she must have thought about it long and hard before making her decision.

As a fan of her work, I will miss her on screen. She is one of the finer actresses I've had the privilege to watch. Whilst she's taking time away from acting, will she still be receiving fan mail via CAM? It would be a nice gesture to let her know from time to time that she still has a legion of fans out there who remember her and look forward to her return when she's ready.

Mandana is still on the books at CAM, and they are still happy to take on mail for her.

There are a number of reasons for Mandana taking this time out, which we aren't privy to give out, but needless to say - it isn't just a simple case of one thing that has prompted this decision, as you point out Jacksprat.

We are hopeful that Mandana will be able to return at some point in the future.

Well, it's good to know that we may see her back on screen in future. Whenever that may be. I hope the right opportunities go her way and she gets the full recognition she deserves for the wonderful actress that she is.

Beyond her screen persona, Mandana is an individual like the rest of us, with a life outside of acting. I truly respect that and wish her all the very best.

As a Brit, I tend to find myself in an ambivalent position to the very fine American English who have picked up on Bad Girls and other fine produced Brit productions. I am only too bitterly aware that so much of regular TV is clogged up with Reality TV and Simon Cowell crap productions of Pop Idol endless variations and am only too glad to see him kept off the charts- come the revolution, he would be first up against the wall. I used to find that the soap operas were bad enough. I am touched to see those the other side of the pond react so positively to the good productions that do find the light of day. All this is a prelude to my strong conviction of appreciating that when fine actresses like Mandana and Simone do get work, it connects with the quality of productions. I can certainly appreciate it if Mandana feels that she has to give weight to her son's upbringing but would love to see her back on the screen where she belongs.
