Has there been any further development toward the sentencing of Adam Dollarhyde? It's been quite a while with no news anywhere on the forum.

well. he was already sentenced for previous crimes and was waiting for space to open up to go. As for the new crime, he has to have a trial first, that is how the justice system works. Probably won't have a trial for at least a year.

Pretty bad when someone who is sentenced for serious crimes can't go to jail because there is no room. Why wasn't he just held in local jail until a space opened up wherever he was supposed to go? Instead he spent time at home with his family - where is the punishment in that?
I realize that he has to be tried for the accused crimes but was really wondering if they had even decided what to charge him with.

He was charged with two prior misdemeanors.....plead guilty and the judge delayed sentencing for six months........because he was supposed to be a good boy I guess........but he missed the six months by mere days, so now he's finally going to be sentenced to jail I guess.
As for violation of suspended sentence........this would be his 2nd charge for violation and the last one was dismissed by the prosecutor.......so actually this guy should have been in jail for many reasons, but just wasn't.
The new charge hasn't even got going yet.

So, after killing that guy, he's just hanging out at home now? Is that right?

He was in my grade back in the day and he was always a trouble maker. Him doing what he did was no surprise at all. Im not 100% sure if they let him go but i doubt it. Even mena's court system can be trialed for releasing him back into public for murder. i dont think mena would want that on their heads. I think he should get what he deserves and NO i dont mean capital punishment. I think capital punishment is actually too nice of a way out. I believe suffering in jail for the rest of your life is a enough suffering for anybody. I dont think anybody wants to see bars for the rest of their lives. and having to use the bathroom in front of people.

Sorry but I have to disagree. I don't know about around here but in Arizona guys who are in for life have their own rooms, can have their own tv, have a toilet to themselves and can have visitors bring them food on certain days.
Granted, the rooms are small and have bars on the one small window but they have their time to themselves unless they are troublemakers who are thrown into solitary and can't spend time in general population for recreation time.
They have weights to work out with, can go out and play football or basketball with their friends, can wear civilian clothes on visiting day and are allowed to buy whatever the commisary sells that they have the money for.
This may not be the ideal life but they really aren't suffering all that much, imo, and the taxpayers are picking up the slack.
If you look at records, most long time prisoners, once being released, end up back in jail - not for committing another crime in a lot of cases, but for violating their probation by not showing up for meetings or something like that because they would rather sit back and get 3 meals a day and live life without having to work.
I won't say that there aren't guys that have honestly changed in prison and want to get out and live a productive life with their families but they are not the majority.

I agree!!! :thumb: I have had low-lifes sell me stolen merchandise & I see them out within a few days & then the charges are usually plea bargained down & sentenced to make restitution  & time served. :downer:

:agree: The guy that broke into our suv had to pay us back $150.00 and got 180 days (time served). He was later charged with, if I'm not mistaken, either selling stolen guns or receiving stolen guns or something to that effect. I never heard anymore after that. I wonder why that is? It seems to me when anyone is charged or sentenced the authorities would put it in bold print in the paper for all of the future criminals to see and to let us law-abiding citizens where our money is going. <_<

I'm sure that would violate their civil rights! It doesn't matter about OUR civil rights. :downer:

No, he's not at home, he's in jail........where he should have been all along.
He beat his wife up.....twice......because of that, they revoked his suspended sentence on a felony charge (not sure what specifically it was)...but that was last summer.........they ended up dismissing the revocation and delaying sentencing on the misdemeanors.........for what reason I don't know.
But if they hadn't given him a slap on the wrist then.......he would have been sent off to prison (not just jail here)......and not been out to commit murder months later. That's what I'm ticked off about.
At first he was being held in jail for the revocation, but I'm sure by now they have charged him with the murder and he is being held on that also.
