Title: FEMA Trailers
rlawry - May 21, 2009 04:49 PM (GMT)
FEMA is taking applications at St. Agnus Catholic Church for trailers at Heavenly Acres, they said even if you applied before and have been denied come back and apply again. People are moving into them now. If you had to move because of the tornado, your home was damaged, or if you have no place to live go to St. Agnus and apply.

We rode thru there yesterday. They are doing a great job setting up the trailers with steps, underskirting, etc. It looks much better than I expected. :thumb:

Nascarpit.....not to be critical...but WHAT did you expect?? Just curious....since i am in the manufactured home business i like to hear what people expect.......i mean did you think it was gunna be a bunch of 1960's "TRAILERS" pulled in there and halfway set up and barn tin for underpinning or what?
I am not lashing out, just curious, cuz these kinda comments just make me wonder.....When was the last time YOU checked out the Newer more modern manufactured homes??? :thumb:

honestly plowboy, as soon as I heard FEMA trailers, I got a picture of a little white trailer, like most of the ones they had for katrina. None of them were skirted and what not.

My guess is that those bigger mobile homes are not from FEMA, but are homes recently purchased by individuals who lost their homes in the tornado.
The FEMA mobile homes I saw convoying along the highway into Polk County were smaller, simpler type homes.....maybe 10 feet wide, at best, about 56 feet long and very few windows.
I also saw one of those FEMA homes being set up out in the county on someone's property.

Fema has some 14x60's as well as 16x80's ....none of them are real fancy, just basic plain homes.....built as less expensive as possible and still provide a good quality home... :thumb:
