Maybe we need a trader beware forum. I have about 10 discs that I am fairly sure work... but not 100%

you could always download this:
http://www.exactaudiocopy.de take the questionable cd, rip it in secure mode and see if and where the errors are. even if the album looks bad, if it comes up error free, it will play fine. |

thats what i was gonna do, but it just takes a while to rip a lot of my old cd's.. i'll have to do it some saturday afternoon. but i use CDex:
