Adam Kane was a pioneer of Genetics. He manipulated DNA in order to save human lives. But in many, their DNA mutated and they developed superhuman abilities. And now with four of the most powerful, he fights to protect a world that doesn’t even know they exist. They are……Mutant X.


In simplest terms, after Adam realized that his research had been being done for the wrong reasons and even copied by Mason Eckhart, he left Genomex and he then decided to form a team to clean up the mess from this wrong-doing. His original first mutant was Lexa Pierce.

She lived at Sanctuary for only two months before realizing she wasn’t cut out for the team thing so she left.

It was then that Adam found Shalimar Fox and Nikki Rogers. Choosing between the two was very difficult, but in the end, Adam chose Shalimar. He said that he made this choice due to the fact that he felt Shalimar would be more able to adapt with the rest of the team. And she did just that. Adam placed Nikki in a foster home.


The next person that was chosen for the team was Jesse Kilmartin. Despite growing up with a rich family, Jesse didn’t feel that he liked this very much. It didn’t help that he was also a mutant. He finally left his childhood home and he became the second member of Adam’s team.


It would be years later before the third and fourth members were chosen. This is mostly because these two joined at the same time. These two members are none other than Emma DeLauro and Brennan Mulwray. Emma was a Telempath, who later was able to use Psionic Blasts against anyone else. Brennan was a talented thief who used his powers to steal wherever he got the chance.


Adam promised them both a better life by joining the team, so they finally did. This team remained active for the next two years. Unfortunately, following a mission at Shalimar’s father’s company, a member of the team lost their life. This was Emma. What made matters worse is due to being pursued by the Dominion, Adam was forced to go into hiding…..and presumed dead.

Now that they are officially on their own, Lexa returns. By now, she is a Dominion Operative, who was assigned to find out anything about where Adam might be and help the team to move on. She isn’t successful in tracking down Adam. This is mostly because she finds out she is attracted to team member, Jesse Kilmartin.


Angry by this news, the Dominion captures both Lexa and Jesse. They try to force Jesse into divulging where Adam is. By this time, Adam has returned and helps the team to get them both out. Unfortunately, Adam is forced to realize the sad and shocking truth. He is actually a clone of the head man in charge of the Dominion-The Creator.

An explosion soon forces the team (minus Adam) outside and they all wonder if he is alive…..or not.
