According to a report at Jim Stephenson's Riven Unofficial Homepage, Steven Spielberg and James Cameron want one, and are willing to go to court over the movie rights to the game. A link to the article is provided below. ...the financial success of Lord of the Rings sparked the interest in Myst. James Cameron (director of Titanic) reportedly offered $3 million for the rights. His offer was initially accepted, but then rejected when Steven Spielberg offered $10 million. The article says there may be a legal battle for the rights.

As far as I know only DPWR and we are the only people who advertised it! If MC, UO, Mystworlds and the Ubi forums all knew about it it'd get a lot more signatures!

Well, it may be a gigantic success (the games I mean), but I don't expect too much out of a movie. For one, what would they base it on? We already have the original Myst (not much movie material), Riven (maybe a bit), Exile (Narayan civil war maybe?), Revelation (possible), and Uru (for me, unlikely) to tell the story. Take a look at the DOOM based movie coming soon (Aug 2005 or something). It has NOTHING to do with DOOM, except maybe some weapons (I'm having Marina look into it). I don't see much good for a Myst movie. Then again, I'll be proven wrong. But I do definitely want to see a Myst movie. If it works, can you say next Star Wars (hey, Episode III is out today).
