Title: Need new Anti-tank weapons
Minnysota - November 28, 2010 11:06 PM (GMT)
The title really says it all, I mainly need a new rocket launcher that is similar to the RPG-29. I also would not mind if I got some artillery if anyone has available units to sell.
EDIT:
This is what I need based on the responses
-SPG (basically taken care of, I just need to go make the order which I will soon)
-Anti-tank weapon very similar to the RPG-29
-Towed artillery

Yea, I believe I already use the LY300 system (first link). I'll have to look into the SPH cause I definitely need some guns and not just artillery.

What in particular are looking for in the way of artillery? Towed guns, SPGs or rocket system?

Well I have the rocket artillery already.
I'm not a guru when it comes to warfare, so I don't know if towed artillery is all that effective now-a-days. I will definitely need an SPG, but I was planning on buying the DPR for Lyras' SPG.
My main goal of this thread is to get an anti-tank weapon that is similar but better than the RPG-29.

Towed arty is a must for Light Units, since it can weigh less than 2 tonnes, while the lightest SPH i know of that is tracked (Tracks > Wheels) is the M109 at ~27 tonnes.
Mix of Tracked/Wheeled for mobile division, and Towed for light units (Marines, Airborne, Light Infantry, Mountain, etc.) where weight is a major concern is a must for effective combat forces.

Towed artillery, only useful if you're forces cannot move anything heavier.
Tracked SPH's are clearly the best. For most light/poor forces a wheeled SPH (like the BAE Archer or the NEXTER Ceasar) is also an option and is still much better than towed guns.

If that is the case, then I do need some towed howitzers. I will edit the post to provide a better understanding of what exactly I am looking for.

It might be possible to make something based on this:
http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2008/11...-abrams-killer/Even has a nifty little trick to get past APS and ERA.

Yes, indeed, the RPG-30 is now what I would prefer to have something based off of.

MBT-LAW, Predator SRAW
Easily the best short range anti-tank weapons. They could even take out first-rate NS tanks with no modification.

This.
Predator AT variant is also guided, for roughly the same weight as (Actually lower than a number of these) RPG-29, RPG-30, RPG-32, MBT-LAW, and even SMAW.

Mhhh the MBT-LAW has an inertial sensor similar to the Predators. Though it is somewhat heavier that's true.
Either one is awesome though.

So, using a MBT-LAW or a Predator-based weapon would be better than the RPG series?
United States of PA - December 2, 2010 12:31 AM (GMT)
Predator is not reloadable, at least as far as i can tell.
But it is lighter, and guided. Thats enough for me.

Sounds good, if its not too much of a hassle could you possibly design one for me? I can go through the hassle of trying to make an image :P

Honestly.
Have already done a Predator Based Missile.
http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/ind...wtopic=8392&hl=Not incredibly different in the basics, but more refined for what i needed for my own armed forces.
Minnysota - December 2, 2010 01:06 AM (GMT)
You wouldn't mind if I used it, right?
(BTW, this is essentially like a Javelin, right?)

IIRC they're overfly top-attack where the HEAT charge is pointed sideways relative to the missile while the Javelin is laid out rather conventionally, flying down into the nice thin top armor.
Could be wrong, however.

The AT Version is like the Javelin, yes.
The other two warheads are completely unguided however.
