If it doesn't have a clutch it isn't a manual, it's a lame excuse for wanting to control the gears (but it'll shift automatically if you don't). Unless it's a Ferrari or something of that caliber you're just lame. Drive a manual smile.gif They take a few months to learn but if you have the willpower it's easy. You'll get it in no time. And the best way to learn? Buy a manual car and drive it home!

Yea, because you're really doing so much more when you're driving a manual. rolleyes.gif "Oh now, I can press a clutch and shift a gear!"

Then again, I've driven a car with a choke, which can only be described as awesome. But not everyone appreciates older technology.

If it takes you months to learn how to put your foot down and move your arm, in that order, I wonder why you're even on the road.

It takes a few months to learn to do it smoothly.

I have no ill will towards automatics but manual is definitely more fun.

It's because you did it wrong. My dad put me on the freeway and told me to figure it out.

Could just be that I have racing experiance, and that's why I prefger the control over the car a manual gives me. You can do things in a manual you can't do in a sequential or automatic.

If you want to use your car for point A to point B, use an automatic, or just go the whole way and use public transport.

The original comment wasn't directed towards racing cars. Let's not change the argument.

The original argument is about cars.

Racing cars are cars too. In fact, many folk drive their race cars about on a daily basis. It's not changing the topic to say that Autos are shit performance.

If you're not running a full manual, non-sequential, you're a little fucking girl.

This assumes that some of us have a choice in the cars we drive.

Personally, my 1997 Chevrolet Malibu LS was handed down to me by my mother. We don't have any manual cars. (To be fair, my mom had a Miata that was manual, but she only had it for a month or so after I got my license, and it hardly ran at that.)

Yeah my first two cars were automatic (1993 Chevrolet Lumina and 1996 Monte Carlo LS) because I didn't have a choice otherwise. There's nothing wrong with driving an automatic but if you drive one of those triptronic cars and it isn't something like a Ferrari and you think you're hot shit you need to STFU.
