It's in prototype stages.

I know, and has been since the 1980s. I'll give you a hint why: It sucks for armour.

QUOTE
Some of these tanks for sale have ridiculous qualities.

Ridiculous qualities is relative. The good tanks on NS are designed around a need or doctrine, throwing something together with no regard for that isn't going to yield anything near as good or well thought out.

I need something to make it interesting, with a limited budget, and my only main industry being computer information, trout farming, and the cheese exporting industry.

Your industry, as far as I'm concerned, is what you want it to be. I don't even remember what my NS page says, but nobody who recognizes my nation will have any doubt that I produce tanks, even if my NS page says I produce wicker baskets.

I think I will drop the Du layer.

Why?

Even if it is in prototype stages, there will be PROOF that you can show us. We want PROOF.

You are still going to have to get rid of the plastics altogether.

Also:

QUOTE
In a dramatic development last month, the FMC Corporation of San Jose, Calif., unveiled a prototype armored vehicle made almost entirely of plastic. The plastic, a polymer composite, is stronger than the aluminum alloys used in armored troop carriers and other lightly armored vehicles, but is not strong enough to provide primary protection for tanks that must withstand heavy guns and missiles.

William E. Haskell, director of the United States Army Materials Technology Laboratory at Watertown, Mass., said the experimental infantry fighting vehicle was made by building up layers of Fiberglas impregnated with polyester resin to a thickness of an inch and two-thirds.

The result offers as much protection against heavy-caliber bullets up to 14.5 millimeters in diameter as does its all-metal counterpart, the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, Mr. Haskell said. ''Moreover, the polymer composite vehicle weighs 25 percent less and is potentially cheaper to make.''

Took me less than a minute to find that. Also shows that you can't make a workable MT tank with plastic armor.

Stevid: Well you must be congratulated for creating an arsenal ship that hasn't been torn to shreds by the NSD Naval community. I've seen many arsenal ships go through here and been laughed at but you've gone and designed one that everyone seems at least half okay with.  Well done.

Alright then. I was thinking about making a plastic armored IFV. Anybody think that will sell well?

Are you making a tank to sell or one to use?

And to who? Noobs and retards will buy anything, good players would prefer more thought out tanks like Nakil. MCA-7 etc.

Proabably not a full on NS IFV where you would be wanting protection against 30mm threats but certainly a fairly lightly armoured battle taxi or MRAP type vehicle.

As to weither it would sell or not, it all depends on how you market it. Get the marketing right and the noobs will buy anything.
