The Kit was designed to make allow the soldier the ability to treat common battlefield wounds and provide live-sustaining treatment before a medic arrives. The medical kit has altered in size and contents over the last few years, the latest being the Mk. 3.

In 2010, the Mk. 3 kit was accepted into service. Seen as a revolution in infantry medical kits, it balanced portability and applications. It also held a container . The freeze dried blood only requires for water to be added to the IV like bag and then inserted like any normal IV.

The Mk. 3 kit holds the following:
x16 Band-Aids - 1 in. x 3 in.
x4 Butterfly Strips
x6 Sterile Sponges - 4 in. x 4 in.
x4 Doses of Off-The Shelf Pain Relievers
x1 Triangular Bandage
x1 Burn Aid/First Aid Cream
x1 EMT Shears (In sterilized package)
x1 Pair of Stainless Steel Tweezers (In sterilized package)
x1 Bolin Chest Seal (In sterilized package)
x1 Israeli Emergency Bandages - 4" package
x3 Pairs of exam gloves (In sterilized package)
x2 QuikClot Combat Gauze - Z fold packages
x1 Combat Application Tourniquet
x1 Roll of Adhesive Tape
x1 Nasopharyngeal Airway 28Fr (In sterilized packaged)
x1 Elastic Bandage - 4 in. x 5 yds. package (Sterilized)
x1 8 ounce bag of freeze dried blood (Universal blood type) (Comes with tools to produce an IV)
x1 Medical Application Booklet
x1 Abdominal Pad
x6 Safety Pins (In sterilized packaged)
x2 Ammonia Inhalants (In sterilized packaged)
x6 Antiseptic BZK Wipes (In sterilized packaged)

1. How would you keep a bandage in a ten-centimeter package? None of my IDF-issue bandages were this small.

2. Where is Isreal?

You do know how large 10 centimeters is... right?

A hygeine kit could potentially be that small...

An emergency bandage isn't.

And an Israeli emergency bandage is of a specific size.

I have found the answer. IDF bandages are 4" wide. They are however also long.

The IDF is also freeze drying there own soldiers blood and placing it in their IFAKs, just add I.V. fluids and you have your own blood back.

Such an amazing thing the Israelis are doing.

Its like everyday PMT and MT are becoming harder to tell apart.
