New Wings

[Blaze]

This story starts with the rebirth of the Earth. Everything we know was destroyed when an enormous solar flare passed over the Earth, demolishing it's natural magnetic field. Almost the whole of existance as we know it was destroyed, minus a few special people, who were endowed with special abilities. Others were transformed into terrifying monsters that ravage the world further. We begin in what was once known as New York City, now a barren wasteland of steel risers and cement towers. Occasional eyes stare out of the darkened passages.

Blaze wipes a drop of sweat off of his brow. "Phew! It's how out here!" He raises his wings up above him to shade himself. "Geez. I wish that there was some AC somewhere." He checks his sword to make sure it's still there. "Oh well. Where should we go first, guys?"

[Liz]

Liz chuckled slightly at Blaze's speech problem. "Yes, it is 'how' out here." Liz pulled out a small, black hair-tie and wrapped her long, red hair in it. "Um. Let's go THIS WAY!" She shouted, and lunged in a random direction, her arm thrust forward. "ONWARD AND BEYOND!" Liz giggled at her own playfulness.

[Blaze]

Blaze sighs, not understanding how someone can be so.....chipper nowadays.But he doesn't deny that her attitude often lightens up the mood whether it be in battle or day to day 'life'. "Sure, whatever." He follows Liz into the unknown, as is often the case.

[Liz]

Liz took her torn skirt and tied it some-what together, and started to skip slightly ahead of Blaze. "Don't look so down, Nii-san." She turned around to smile at him. "We just survived the apocalypse. Be happy!"

[Blaze]

"Ugh." Blaze groans at Liz's uber playfulness. "Yes, I know. That's exactly WHY I'm not so happy. I figured the Apocolypse would happen AFTER I died. Now look at me." He points to his numerous wings. "I'm a flippin fallen angel...thing. I mean, c'mon! This is too freaky. I expect to wake up at any moment." Blaze is still learning to control his numerous abilities, something always going out of hand. This time, a lightning bolt strikes right next to them. "Ummm....that wasn't me...I'm almost positive." Lightning was the first thing he forced himself to master, as it's one of the more volatile and unpredictable elements. "The energy to make it came from over there!" He points to a building not to far away. "I think someone's trying to kill us!"

[Liz]

"Aww, I bet he liiiikes us." Liz giggled more. She jumped out of the way of a second Lightning bolt. "Oh! I know!" Liz quickly summoned her power, and focused it on the earth under the building. She stretched it in her mind, and the real ground soon followed. The building shook, and then collapsed. Liz twirled and blew a kiss in the direction of the now rubble. "I liiiike you too." She then ran in the direction of it. "C'mon! I bet he wants to marry us!" Liz laughed so hard her sides began to hurt on that one, barely keeping up as she jogged.

[Blaze]

Blaze pulls her back as another bolt came down. "Oh yeah, I think they like us TOO!" At the last word, a tornado filled with lightning crashes into the pile of rubble. "C'mon!" Blaze rushes towards the building, and begins to drill his sword through the rocks, when a blast sends him and the pile flying. "I think they want to play, Liz. How about you? YOu wanna play too?" Blaze sends blast after blast of thunder at the figure still standing there.

[Liz]

"Hehe, yeah!" Liz summoned more earth, flinging it at the figure, knocking it every which way. She did this as she jogged on, she ran up to it, focusing her energy into her arms, giving her almost super strength. Liz ran straight towards the figure, pushed out her hand, and knocked it over. "TAG, YOU'RE IT!" She yelled. Liz then knelt on the figure. "Hi!" She jumped on it's stomach. "I'm Liz! And that's my Nii-san, Blaze, over there. What's your name?" She leaned in to the figure. "And why're you throwing lightning at us? Hm?" She shoved her face into the figure's face. "Do you liiiiiiiike us?" Liz then stopped talking completely, and held her face in the figure's view, with an absolutely stupid grin on her face.

[Blaze]

Blaze pulls her off the figure right before it stabs her. "God, sometimes you're so impossible to deal with!" A lightning bolt races down at the group and Blaze says, "Take some of your own medicine!" He redirects the bolt and adds some of his own energy to it, making it strike the figure with ten times the force. The figure, a hideously deformed dog-human creature dissolves into bits. "Next time, be a little bit more careful!"

[Liz]

Liz smiled at Blaze, and saluted. "Yessir!" She knelt next to what was left of the attacker. "But you shoulda kept him alive, Nii-san. I wanted to know if he liiiiiiiiiked us." Liz batted her eyes flirtatiously. She then stood up and looked around. "I think we better look around to see if there's more that liiiiiike us!" She twirled and giggled, and although she appeared to be completely off-guard, Liz was thoroughly scanning the area as she spun. After three rotations, she stopped. She leaned in towards Blaze, "Look slightly to your left, try to be discrete, mkay?" Liz twirled again, not to spoil the mood of cheerfulness. She fell on her butt and burst out laughing.

[Blaze]

Blaze sighs. "Whatever." He begins to do some stretches, and at one point, does an abdominal twist, which puts him directly in the direction she said. "Yeah? What about it?" He doesn't see or sense anything, but Liz must have seen something. He looks closer while still stretching, but still can't see anything. "I think I'm going to stretch my wings too. I'll be back in a few minutes." He turns to look around to find a good direction to fly, and the best one just happens to be in the direction Liz pointed. "I'm going this way!" He flaps his wings a few times to get airborne, then takes off with high speed. He swoops lower to the ground, and does a few turns, all the while staying on course to the building. He almost crashes into a figure that leaps out into the air and aims some sort of gun at him. "Oh crap!" Blaze swerves, narrowly missing the shooter and the bullet. He raises his hand, and the man is set on fire. He lands, and stares at the man.

"Come get me, big boi!" Blaze takes off, and speeds back to where Liz is, making sure that the gunsman can keep up. "Liz! Look out! He's coming this way!" Blaze turns and blinds the man with a flash of light directly in the person's eyes.

[Liz]

Liz giggled. "I know, silly! D'you think I would've pointed him out otherwise?" She spun once more and pointed in the direction of the gunsman. As her finger lifted into the air water burst up from under the gunsman, trapping him in a wet cage, and drowning him all the same. In the blink of an eye, the cage then became earth base. "No need to worry about the gun, Nii-san. It won't work without proper gunpowder." Liz twirled and blew a kiss at the gunsman, then ran to the cage. "Try not to kill him!" She shouted. "I wanna see why he liiiiikes us. I bet it's our dashing good looks!" Liz posed as she ran in an outrageous form.

[Blaze]

"If you drown him, he will die. If you cut off air, he will die. I don't think he likes us. I think he wants to kill us and take our stuff. And then sell it." Blaze shakes some dust off of him, and waits for Liz to finish whatever it is she's doing.

[Liz]

Liz washed away the water from the cage, leaving the man gasping and flopping like a fish out of water. Still, the let the water trickle away with his gun. Keeping a safe distance from the cage, she spoke, "I know, Nii-san." Liz smiled and giggled. "But the apocalypse just happened. Where would he sell our junk?" She twirled and giggled again, falling on her butt. She crawled in towards the cage, and poked the man. "So, why are you trying to kill us? Hm? Hm? Huhhhhhh?"

[Blaze]

Blaze groans. "There are a multitude of places out there that will eagerly buy anything that is stolen or found." He looks down at his plain clothes, and the sword that rests in his sheath, that he keeps hidden from the sight of anyone around him. He rests his hands on his waist next to the hilt, feeling its calming yet deadly presence. "Trust me, after death, the things that can be found are astounding." He walks over to the cage, not afraid of the body laying in the cage. "Why are you trying to kill us?"
