Title: Searching For Grubs
Description: A skunk gorges for the winter

Skunk - March 18, 2005 04:13 PM (GMT)
It was Autumn's peak, and throughout the lands trees were shedding their glowing hues, while the last of the season's fruits came to ripen. Everywhere animals were gorging on these last of nature's offers, filling their bellies to the brim so that they would survive the long, cold winter which dawned upon them. Clover the skunk was no different.

He could be found at this moment in time with his nose buried in the sodden leaves, snuffling and sniffing, hunting down those little grubs he loved so much. It had been a good day.. He had found some berries, newly ripened and bursting with flavour, and some of the plants he was named for - his favourite, of course - which were a little trampled, but tasty none the less. It was rare for him to venture out so boldly in the day, but with winter steadily approaching he was determined to make the most of what little time he had left.

Finding a worm, he plucked it from its warm, soggy home and began to munch upon it, greatly enthralled by the slick, squishy sensation it provided.

Rabbit - March 18, 2005 04:24 PM (GMT)
Boing, hop hop hop. Munch munch. Twitch twitch.

Winnifrediago the second, a rather fat pompous white rabbit, was also trying to fatten up for the upcoming cold winter. Grass was in plentiful supply of course, but he liked to hop about as well whilst he ate. Boing, munch munch. Bleh, ants!

He hopped forwards quietly, dumb enough to not care about the fact he was out in broad daylight. He was hungry, and hungry rabbits were angry rabbits. Sniffing at a leaf, he was suprised to see a skunk up ahead. This was HIS eating place! How dare he? Huffing loudly, Winnifrediago hopped closer, munching on a large tasty leaf as he did so. His nose quivered as he did so.

Skunk - March 18, 2005 05:00 PM (GMT)
Ears twitching at the snuffling sound, Clover turned to face it, his beady black eyes fixing on the rabbit. He finished his worm and gave an indignant sniff, not too bothered, but feeling the need to state his part. He snorted, parted his sharp little jaws and began to chatter noisily, angling his tail high in the air. He wondered whether this rabbit knew what he could do to it.

"Don't get in my way, rabbit, unless you want to loose one one of those pretty ears! I eat smaller of your kind."

Pana - April 3, 2005 08:37 PM (GMT)
ooc- *ish confused* Now... am I allowed to post here?

Eladonis - April 3, 2005 10:18 PM (GMT)
((Yep, if you want to ^^ Be prepared for a face full of skunk, though XD (Skunkeh being me, btw, I'm just in my main account here)))

Coronus WindFlare - April 4, 2005 10:05 AM (GMT)
OOC: Hey could Tarny and Karah get a skunk down at the hunting grounds please? lol Thanks!
........................................................................................................................

The stocky and muscular frame of Coronus wanderd through the forest. His pelt was a reddish tan and swayed gently with each powerful stride he took. A set of crimson eyes scanned the area with a deathly scowl, and his aura glistened with hatred and anger.

The brute tossed his head back and forth in annoyance as he cussed under his breath. It seemed Frozen Dreams were having som difficulty so he couldnt get into the pack, nor could he go to Celestial or Silent Meadows because of personal matter. Timber Woods as the only option yet, but could he risk that? The head alpha governed them afterall...

The crisp golden leaves crunched and crackled underneath his oversized paws as he prowled through the woodlands. The sunlight was able to get down here now that autumn had stripped the tree bear. The few warm rays that werent blocked by whispy white clouds, shon down upon Coronus warming his pelt. He shudderd as the light fell upon his face. He hated the day. The bright lights just made his burns more prominent. Burns that ran down his face, covering the one side of his muzzle. Various other nasty scars and burns could be seen dotted across his body, but atleast his fur had grown back covering most of them. At night he could hide his face, the shadows falling upon him, shielding him from the starring eyes that fell upon him throughout the day.

The bloodred beast raised his ebon wet nose to the air and inhaled the surrounding scents. He could smell another creature, ah yes was that a rabbit? Indeed, but there was something with it....something Coronus couldnt quite decipher. Still, he'd check it out anyway.
Picking up his pace the beast padded towards the area the scents were coming from, and sure enough he spotted a fluffy white rabbit, with a black ball of fur not too far away from it. Coronus remained hidden in afew bushes, down wind, not moving a muscle for if he did the leaves would crunch and dinner would flee...

Pana - April 4, 2005 08:37 PM (GMT)
*A smirk wiped upon her maw, she slunk through the underbrush. Truth be told this was hard... being her massive size. Fortunately though, hunting came easy to her.

Pana crouched, a skunk in her gaze but 20 or 30 feet away. Skunk was hard to catch, but she loved a challenge. Jade orbs fixed upn the hind of the creature, Must avoid that part....

Pale rose tounge lolled, coursing on ebony lips as she watched. Never had she hunted in these parts... Perhaps the animals knew cunning she didn't... Doubt now attacked her mind. No. She could outhink a skunk. She raised a brow, cursign herself for ever thinkng these lies.

True was she to the shadows, being a black femm, rare was she by day. Fiery green orbs darted to the area the beast trod upon, her long legs and wide mitts fixed. Any movement would set off her prey. Cogs turned behind clouded eyes as she contemplated movement. Deer were hard but skunk was another matter. Her method for the larger quadrepeds was quite different... she would need a new plan.

Downwind? Check. Silence? Check. Plan..... Curses. She sat still in the bush, sure she heard another as her ears flattened to her skull. A flash of red coursed through the bushes. Fox? no... too big. She turned back to the task at hand, thinking over and over.*

Karah - April 5, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
((OOC-Are we supposed to bring it there or does someone bring it to us? *put clothes-peg on nose* A skunk!))

Coronus WindFlare - April 8, 2005 06:48 PM (GMT)
Coronus sniffed the air once more, wet black nose twitching. The scent of another lingerd upon the breeze. Close by too, it smelt like another wolf. He grunted angrily as he stood up, intentionally trying to scare away the prey. He wasn't about to have somebody else nab the rabbit before he did. Pressuming they were after the rabbit...

The red wolf now ignored the prey, his focus set on finding this stranger. Crimson eye's fell upon the scenery with a deathly scowl. Now scanning the surrounding shrubbery, blood red eye's casting over the shadows.
"Who goes there" He said in a smooth deep voice.

Coronus wasn't the friendliest of wolves, it wasn't all his own fault though. He might have been different...maybe if things hadnt turned out the way they had, maybe if Scythe hadn't left him to burn...maybe. Now he was rather rude and arrogant. Riddled with scarlet thoughts, this brute was malicious, and revenge was set in mind.

...He would make Scythe pay...

Pana - April 9, 2005 07:29 PM (GMT)
*Snaps of twig and hiss of breath caught her ear, causing her to turn her sight. Curses. She backed away from the edge, able now to move freely to find this other wolf. Whoever he was, he wasn't making her job any more helpful.

She padded through the bright-leaved forest, keeping her eye on where she had been so she could return to her stalking spot. The flash of red recurred, ceasing her gait. Word echoed to her auds, her eyes narrowing.

"Who wishes to know?" She said gruffly, her feminine tone accquiring deep notes.*

Coronus WindFlare - April 9, 2005 11:37 PM (GMT)
Coronus starred at the fae, blood red eyes piercing through her very soul. He wonderd whether she had seen the scars that trailed down his muzzle? He was used to the awkward glances of strangers. Wolves trying their best not to offend him, not to let their eyes wander across his distasteful burns. It no longer upset him merely made him the bitter and twisted wolf he was today. But the fae hadn't even winced at him? She must not have seen...

...Unless...unless she was like Grey Starre? That fae had been so kind to him, and he'd thrown it back in her face. Still, now he held an ounce of respect for, which was more than he held for most. She had tolerated his rudeness and sarcasm, and persisted in trying to befriend him. Not many stuck around that long...

"Coronus WindFlare" He said cooly, a malicious tone lingering upon his maw. The brute would have usually been alot more vicious, especially knowing that she'd almost demanded his name. But he obviously had more pressing thoughts at hand. He sat silently for a minute or two before his crimson eyes fell upon the femme once more. Having decided she was worthy enough of some of his time.
"And who precisely are you" He said sternly, in his usual deep tone.

Pana - April 11, 2005 01:37 AM (GMT)
*Ebon banner lashed at her sides, her mind lingering meters away at her prey. It would not stay there for long.

She felt the brute's cold red eyes bore into her skull, throwing up a jade wall of steel to block his gaze as she flashed pine orbs to him. She would not be taken down that easily. She looked him over, his malicious aura and troubled soul tugging at her brain. She smiled serenely, her gesture tainted with confidence.

Paiva, in male form. That was what this bruten was. The anger, the hate... the cold stare. Her sister incarnate in male form stood before her, the reason for her smirk. All her life she had had to deal with the ever-angered fatale... this should be no different.

He spoke his name, Pana running it over in her mind. Strong enough dubbance, but names weren't everything. Her gaze turned to his muzzle, scars running deep down his cheeks. Who was she to care? All wolves of such temperment had markings from warfare. She did not readily approve of such 'sport,' but it happened regardless. Paiva herself had a gash running nearly the length of her down her side, from a broken rib.

"Evening sir WindFlare." She said sternly, her own tone cold at the moment. Her voice was always full of emotion, filling to fit the mood. Joy? serenity? hatred? whatever the mood, her vocale reflected it easily. The cameleon's voice she was once said to have.

"I be Pana, no more no less." She said, her face stoney and blank. Never did she reveal her pack birth name to strangers on the road. She was surprised he did... She thought he would have known better.

She turned an aud, listening intently for the skunk. What did this brute want so intently so as to distract her friom the hunt?*

Coronus WindFlare - April 12, 2005 05:35 PM (GMT)
Coronus merely starred for a moment, no particular expression upon his features. His vicious tone was begining to slip, but then it came back so easily. His crimson eyes wanderd across the fae before settling with her gaze once more. She'd put on a rather fiesty exterior, and Coronus had been alittle impressed. Not much though, he was hard to satisfy.

"Worried i'll scare your prey away Pana?" He asked in a raised voice, purposely trying to frighten away the small creatures. This was merely some way to amuse himself in these lonely hours. It didn't bother him all that much though, infact he quite enjoyed his own company. More so then most wolves.

Pana - April 19, 2005 07:55 PM (GMT)
Pana eyed this brute, tensing as he shouted, practically shooing the skunk away by himself.

"Well, not anymore... seems nothing would stay at that purposeful a warning." she muttered, a grimace on her lips. She did not hate this brute, but anger was building inside for his insolence. She was easily twice his age... what had become of respect for elders?

She eyed the bushes again, knowign full well that this brute was not here for the skunk... he seemed far too young for such prey. Skunks required skil and tactics, something that even she was lacking that fateful day.

"I suppose you've just scared away your own supper sir... nice one." she spat, turning away to peer into the forest.*

Anikah - April 20, 2005 01:43 AM (GMT)
The foul stench that always lingered around the skunk was present this morning, as Anikah noted with digust. Oh well... seeing as this was her first hunt alone, she would make do with whatever prey was around. Snarling as if crating her own theme music, a malicious smile curved upon her little maw as she padded forward, less than stealthy, towards the foul smell.

Upon arriving, the little femme froze at the sight of a large, red brute lingering around the hunting grounds. But her worries lifted as she realized it was Coronus, the brute she'd met at this exact place some time ago... he must really like to come here, she thought happily. But then, so did she.

"Hello, Mr. Coronus sir!" she whispered, trying to be quiet as she had no knowlage that the prey was probably long since gone from the two voices argueing. Smiling happily and drawing up her little chest proudly, she grinned smugly and nodded curteously.

"I'm on my very first hunt. What are you and the young lady doing here?" she questioned, peering keenly at Pana with her amber eyes, silver and tan pelt swaying as she did.

Coronus WindFlare - April 20, 2005 04:53 PM (GMT)
Coronus merely snarled at the ebon fae once more. "Does it look like im botherd Dutchess?" He spat, growing slightly annoyed. Indeed it was true, he was growing a little frustraighted. Whether it was because she didn't seem to be growing tired of his company or merely because he was getting bored, who knew.

He opened his maw once more but stopped again, now looking down to the little pup that had toddled out of the bushes. He squinted for a moment, this young fae knew his name, he must have met her before. Oh Ah yes, that was Anikah, the crimson mascu had met her in this very same forest some time ago.

He listened contently as she talked, showing a greater intrest in the cub than the much larger female. "Really now? Good luck" He said, his tone changing slightly. The blood hued brute now spoke in a somewhat lighter tone, showing alittle more respect to the pup than he had done to the obsidian femme. "Me and Pana here were just having a little...discussion" Coronus shot the fae the dirtiest look before his crimson gaze returned to the whelp. If only looks could kill. "Nothing of importance though. Would you like some company?" He said almost kindly, now completely ignoring Pana.

Pana - April 20, 2005 07:53 PM (GMT)
*The growing rudeness of this bruten was erking her greatly, but no one was rotten to the core. She eyed him with filling malice, backing slightly away as a younge pup bounded from the bushes. A hiss and glare sent his way, she turned her back to go back to her skunk.*

ooc- acky! short post! I shall leave you two though, as I am leaving NB for a week or so on vacation. Bye!

Anikah - April 20, 2005 08:28 PM (GMT)
Anikah smiled at Coronus, but her face fell slightly as she watched Pana hiss and jump away. Sitting quietly on her silver haunches, the young pup pondered sadly, watching the place where the femme disappeared... "She must not like me that much," she said quietly, her little head not moving until she heard Coronus speak.

The fae nodded vigorously, jumping to her feet and snarling in a playful way. "Yessir, Mr.Coronus!" she yipped, tassel waving proudly as she bounded around, showing off the 'advanced hunting manuvers' she'd just thought up.

Stopping, the little fae shrugged, sitting down and emitting a little sigh with her eyes closed; it was a careless one, though. "I dunno, actually, I never really been on a HUNT before... so I don' really know how'ta hunt so very well..."

Perking her ears suddenly and glancing at the brute, she jumped up and smiled, wagging her tail as she peered at Coronus peculiarly.

"Do you know how to hunt, Mr. Coronus sir?"

Coronus WindFlare - April 21, 2005 06:33 PM (GMT)
OOC: Okey dokey, byeeee!
........................................................................................................................

The stocky red beast chuckled as Pana hissed and retreated, obviously having had enough of his company. It hadn't taken him too long to get rid of her. Still it wasn't in record timing.
"Oh ignore Pana, shes just had a bad day" He grinned maliciously to himself, thoughts just wandering his mind briefly.

His attention returned to the petite fae once more and the faintest smile touched his maw. Slowly he seemed to be warming to this pup, though he tried not to. He didn't want her put in danger afterall, and he was sure her parents wouldn't her mixing with his sort.

"Do I know how to hunt? Indeed I do" Said Coronus proudly, puffing out his chest alittle. "Hunter, Warrior, anything that involves killing. Thats my scene" He chuckled lightly, half hoping he hadn't scared the young pup. "Shouldn't you have some sort of Youth Watcher teaching you?" Asked the mascu, raising a brow slightly. He wonderd if the young fae had snuck away from her sitter, he didn't want to get into trouble for it...or did he? His eyes glistened with glee at the thought of trouble. He did so enjoy causing a stir. Ah but should he really be influencing ones from such an early age. Would he want his own pups to grow up like him. No. He didn't want them to feel the pain, the anger that he felt.
"I can teach you if you like? Aslong as its okay with your parents that is." He stated firmly.

Anikah - April 21, 2005 08:40 PM (GMT)
"Ptthhp," Anikah said lightly, waving a paw in the air carelessly, trying to act cool and composed, but the spark in her eyes betrayed her intentions. Mr. Coronus... teach me? I'd be the best of them all! she thought gleefully, turning back to the red beast.

"Of course they wouldn't mind, Mr. Coronus," she said, laughing slightly as she sat down. Smiling, she nodded, sure of herself. "Sir, my mother is the Youth Watcher. And she teaches all the others to bathe and hunt and fight... I'd be TERRRIBLY embarressed to have my own mum teach me in front of all the guys," she concluded, figuring that was a pretty good excuse to have Mr. Coronus teach her.

Lowering the paw, she glance nervously at Coronus, smiling slightly and shrugging her shoulders. "So..." she ventured, taking a slow sep forward and giving him a winning smile, eyes sparking with anticipation. "Will ya teach me, sir? I promise I'm a fast learner, and I won't be too much trouble, promise. Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a claw in my eye!"

Coronus WindFlare - April 21, 2005 09:02 PM (GMT)
Coronus chuckled lightly once more as he ponderd for a moment. "Hmmm" He mumbled as he peered down at her with those deathly crimson orbs. "Well okay then" Said the beast now rising to his massive paws. He gave a little strech before standing up properly. Coronus wasn't the largest of wolves but he was stocky and muscular, his stance always reeking of dominance, power and pride.

"Lets see..." He said as he padded around in a circle. Their was no point going after his previous prey, as they were no doubtedly long gone, and Pana had set off after them anyway.

The beast came to a hault, lifting one large paw and shifting a stone to the center of this small dell, the tall tree's surrounding the pair.
"This is our rabbit" He grinned to himself peering down at the rock, finding it slightly amusing. He hope'd this little lesson wouldn't bore her. Coronus would try his best to maintain a friendly heir, make this lesson fun.

"Yes yes I know its a rock" He grinned, looking back to Anikah warmly. Their was no point going after a hare if she didn't know the basics yet. This way she'd know afew pointers ensuring a much easier catch later on. "Once you know the basics we can go track ourselves down a rabbit" He said, unknowingly licking his maw. It had been awhile since the beast had last eaten, Coronus having forgotten he was hungry upon seeing Pana.
"Now, you've just picked up the scent of something yeah? Look! Their it is! A fat juicy rabbit!" Said Coronus as he lowerd his crania to her level, his face up against hers, huge in comparison. He was staring at the stone, crimson orbs transfixed upon it, not blinking once. "You gotta crouch real low" Coronus paused waiting for her to do so....

Anikah - April 22, 2005 09:17 PM (GMT)
Anikah was thrilled with his response... it even seemed as though Coronus was trying to take care of her? Who knew. Maybe he liked her a little after all.

Glancing at the rock, the little fae trembled with excitement... there it was. The plump, juicy rock. Oh yes... now she was going to be the best of the best. Asuming correctly that it was a test run, she did her best to pay very close attention... every detail was assential.

"Crouch down low...." she repeated with a menacing cackle, thinking it was rather appropriate for the moment. She lowered her shoulder blades, flexing them before stopping, paws at the reading, banner flying high and obviously in the air.

Check.

Coronus WindFlare - April 22, 2005 11:10 PM (GMT)
"Very good" Coronus said in almost a whisper, as if he were trying not to scare away the rock. "Now were down-wind which is very important" He stated firmly, in some hope that those words would stick in her mind. "This way our prey can't pick up our scent, so doesn't even know were here." He looked to the small pup, a smile upon his face. Yes it was a rather awkward grin, he hadn't showed happiness in a long time, but it was still a smile.

"Now we wait it out for awhile, just assesing our prey. It's either gonna gradually move away from you or move closer. Now if it starts moving away slowly then your gonna need to begin the crawl. Which is where you slowly....slowly....ever so slowly....edge forwards" Said the stocky red beast as he began to creep forwards. Large paws were spread wide across the ground, spreading out his weight, making sure not to make a sound.
His muscles bunched, now tensed, red eyes set upon his target. "Then BAM!"
His limbs flexed suddenly, bursting forwards like a released spring. Ears pinned back, a streamline posture. He braced hiself for the impact.
Coronus'es large paws clasped the dry rock, sharp claws grinding against the hard stone. Excitedly he knawed upon it, now just lay there with a rock between his masive pads. Sometimes he got alittle too carried away. This was one of those times.

Realising this he got back up, chuckling to himself as he padded back over to the young fae and sat down. "If its moving towards you then you've just got to wait out your time to strike. Hunting is always a gamble, just strike when your gut says" He said with a short nod, just reaffirming his statement. "I shall teach you the arts of chasing in a moment, first we must master the strike. Your turn Anikah..." Said Coronus as he peered down at the pup that was still crouched upon the ground. "Just like I did, nice wide paws, be one with the earth...or soemthing like that" He grinned.

Anikah - April 23, 2005 12:14 AM (GMT)
Anikah laughed and cheered as Coronus's massive paws struck the hard, rough rock, his claws sinking into the yellow-green moss that furrily covered some parts of the stone. "All right, Mr. CORONUS!" she yipped, jumping up in the air and striking it with a pumped up fist.

As he returned, she immediately reaturned to her stalking position; shoulders haunched and crouched, along with her rump, tassel waving excitedly in the grass. When she realized this was making he swishing noise she heard from behind her, she stopped, ears laying flat.

Slow, ever so slowly, she began to inch forward, mitts, not nearly as large as Coronus's, spread wide apart... but she made just as much, if not more, noise as the red wolf had despite her light wieght. She could always practice later.

"And BAM!" she shouted gleefully, immitating her mentor as her undeveloped muscles bunched, springing forward with surprising agility, landing a little to the right of the rock, but still with one paw on top of it. She immediately recovered herself, jumping ontop of the stone and beginning to gnaw the fleshy moss in victory. She lost her balance once and slowly slid to the ground, little forlock falling before her amber eyes.

"How's that, Mr. Coronus?!" she piped happily, standing proud, shoulders wideset with her success. "I did exactly what you tolded me too, after all, sir..."

Anikah - April 23, 2005 12:30 AM (GMT)
ooc:| Meep, going to reply later... like, in half hour, twenty mintues? Going to supper. |

Coronus WindFlare - April 23, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
Coronus chuckled, he like'd this young fae alot, feeling like a sort of uncle or big brother towards her. Though he doubted that her parents would ever approve of her spending time with him. They wouldn't want her growing up to be like that ...that beast afterall...

"You might want to skip the 'and bam' when you get the rabbit. Maybe after you've killed it?" He said warmly as he stood up, giving a little shake as he did so. "Now the chase is just like a game of tag. You just need to learn to interpret your preys next move. Now thats something that can only be learnt over time. But I can teach you a good plan of attack when hunting in pairs." The red beast gestured for her to follow him and he began to casually pad off around the woodlands. "You want to wear your prey out, so it's always good to alternate with who leads the chase. Conserve energy. You can't keep up a sprint forever afterall, so its good for someone to lag behind for awhile then push upfront when the other gets tired." He said, crimson eyes wandering over the scenery. Coronus hoped that some of his knollege may come in handy. He was an expert hunter, but he couldn't remember the last time he'd had an unsucessful hunt.

"When hunting herds you want to pick out one that looks weaker than the others, but not diseased. Don't want to get ill yourself do ya" Said Coronus as he glanced down at Anikah. "Calfs are also good ones to go for too, just look out for the mothers." The massive red mascu chuckled to himself once more, as if reminicing upon past memories, before continuing. "If you stay ever so slightly to one side of your prey you can almost steer it. Thats another handy tip" Coronus huffed loudly as his deathly gaze wanderd over the scenery once more. There didn't seem to be any prey around anymore...

Anikah - April 23, 2005 04:29 PM (GMT)
Anikah nodded and smiled, jumping ontop of the rock and treading upon her prey gallantly and proudly. Her forelock flopped to the right side of her brow as she turned her head abruptly to glance at Coronus as he gave his opinion. She nodded and listened carefully, determined to become as great a hunter as the red brute.

"Not say bam until after, check," she said on a serious note, but her mouth was curved in a grin and her eyes sparking happily. She bunched her muscles and leapt/fell off the rock, scuttling over to Coronus and sitting before him, little tail wagging sweepingly behind her rump.

She tried to picture her and Coronus hunting in a pair, and catching the fattest deer in the forest, then bringing it back for her mother and father. Popping out of the daydreaming fantasy, the femme cocked her head, sniffing the air for the smells of any other animals; a bird here, a squirrel burried in the thicket, collecting food, but nothing of real pride to catch.

Sniffing subsided, and the annoyed eyes of the little pup wandered to Coronus... "Mr. Coronus, sir! There's been a problem. I don't smell any prey, sir. How're we s'posed to do a chase without a prey to chase?"

Coronus WindFlare - April 27, 2005 08:11 PM (GMT)
"Hmm" Coronus ponderd, head turning in various directions as his blood red eyes narrowed with a piercing gaze as if he were scanning every detail of the area. No, nothing, no scents no movement, no noise...what would they do? How would he be able to teach her if there was nothing around?

His gaze finally fell upon Anikah once more, and those crimson orbs glistened rather insanely as his lips raised and he barred his teeth. Coronus didn't appear threatening her though, he looked rather funny, he was playing. Playing? Did this brute even know how to play? Surely not? His up-bringing had been strict afterall and his persona was the complete opposite. It was just that gut feeling once more, telling him how to behave around her. For some reason he wanted this young femme to like him, already he felt felt a strong bond. Just worried that it may be one sided.
"And im growing rather hungry too...I might just have to eat you!" He laughed as he jumped forwards in an attempt to begin a game of tag, atleast this way when it was her turn to chase him she'd get some practise in...

Anikah - April 27, 2005 08:28 PM (GMT)
"Hmmm...?" Anikah repeated, taking an expecting step forwards, little cranium lifted, ears flat out to the sides. A smile was upon her features, as if she was expecting him to say something... an altogether funny stance. She glanced behind her trotting forward to where her paws were not so far apart, her amber orbs glinting as Coronus's did... he seemed a bit frightening at that moment, but surely he wouldn't hurt her. She thought she knew Coronus better than that.

He was more than just a mentor, or role-model... her was actually more like family. Like the big brother she never had, or an uncle she could be close to... yeah, an uncle. Uncle Coronus. Her little banner wagged as she thought the words, but she'd wondered how he'd take it...

"Eeeeeeiii!" she squealed in sudden delight, swiftly dogning Coronus's big paws, tassel now pumping lead as if energetically swapped back an forth. She lowered onto her front paws in a playing stance, barking loudly and leaping skidishly away again before repeating the antics.

"I don't think so... Uncle Coronus!" she yipped, trying the words verbally on her tongue, pausing for a second before resuming the game, eyes glinting happily as she bounded around.

Coronus WindFlare - April 29, 2005 05:25 PM (GMT)
Coronus smiled his awkward smile as she called him uncle, so this bond wasn't one sided afterall. He laughed as he chased after her, obviously merely trotting, letting her escape and dodge away as he approached.
The red mascu had missed out on so much of his childhood. I suppose this time spent with Anikah was his way of experiencing what every normal pup did. Playing with friends, having fun. Not training yourself into a ruthless warrior, spending months upon end scouring the lands insearch of Scythe.

He was so full of hate and pain, it was nice to feel other emotions once in awhile. Though the beast didn't like to let others see this happiness, this weakness. He had a reputation to maintain afterall. Only around those he trusted enough would he release this childlike content.

Picking her up carefully by the scruff of her neck the crimson beast trotted off through the tree's. Eventually coming to a hault and plopping the petite fae down beside himself.
"You've had a relatively normal life haven't you?" He questioned, peering down at the pup briefly. His tone had changed and with it the atmosphere too. Calm had returned once more and his body language was relaxed too.

Anikah - April 30, 2005 05:33 AM (GMT)
"Hey, lemme go!" Anikah cried jokingly as Coronus picked her up by the scruff of her petite neck. She dangled there for a second before he began to trot away with her, but she felt no fear. Although she felt a very hard, firm Coronus peeking outside from behind this playful one, it didn't bother her.

She looked like a little drop of water, paws curled up tightly against her body, tail coiled under her rump as she sagged from Coronus's jaws, finally giving a little stuggle as he let go. Smiling and jumping aroun playfully once more, she glanced at Coronus with a confused expression in her amber eyes.

"A normal life...?" she trailed off, as if expecting more. When she realized that more wasn't coming, she sat down, blinking. "Well, sure, Uncle Coronus," she said bluntly, glancing at her nails before back to the red brute.

"Why?"
