Title: By Herself [anyone]
Xavier and Belle - March 30, 2005 04:25 PM (GMT)
She shuffled drunkenly into the cavern, her brown fur matted. She was now half a year old, still small, and skinny. She let her small frame collapse, a long sigh of relief rushing through her nares. 'I shoulda stayed with Xav... Begged to tag along...' The small wolf nosed the dirt floor sullenly. She was shy, and weary of making new friends.
Green eyes now closed, she let her body relax, letting slumber overtake her...
Flare - April 2, 2005 02:44 AM (GMT)
Flare's emerald orbs glittered slightly as the brute approached the Snow Valley. Nares twitching slightly he shifted through the scents. Most were old, and a slight pain ran through him. He missed some of the wolves, such as Dakota, the ones that had never come. For a moment, his prideful, always joyful stride faltered, and the grin always seeming to be 'pon his maw, slipped. He quickly caught both, and continued on. He rose his gaze to see a young pup, and was slgihtly shocked he'd missed her scent. For a brief moment, he debated on whether he should speak, or leave. He took note of how her breathing was even, slow. Tilting his crania slightly, he slowly pranced over to her, tassel whisking back and forth. But once again, that voice rose inside of his mind, from the black depthes that no other Varg had ever seen... even Karena. 'Don't do it! Leave her! You wanted to be alone didn't you? Wanted to be free, wanted to be away from other Varg that didn't need to meet you, so as not to have them question you. So why do you want to meet more, when it could end up as your foolish death? Flare, the idiot. Nice ring eh?' He almost snarled. His hackels rose slightly, and he countered the voice. 'Well I've better thins to do then sit 'round and curse myself for being stupid, for leaving, for doing everything I ever did. I have a life, and I plan to live it to the fullest, and I'll never accomplish that sitting around eating away at myself, constantly putting myself down! Please, just leave me alone!' He shook his crania slightly, trying to rid himself of the vile voice. 'But you know what you are, you know the monster that is you. You know that you will be killed, murdered, if any learn of it. So why do you try? Nobody cares for you... not even your own parents, your own sister. Your brother left, left you behind.' The voice seemed to drip poison, and every word stung. The last few, they burned. 'Tha-... That's not true! I... Wild doesn't hate me, and I'm sure that Mazrim cares... he... he had to have a reason... go away! Get out of my head!'
He wanted to claw at nothing, to force the voice away, but instead he reclined back 'pon his lean haunches, his smooth orbs revealing nothing, sheer and impassive as ice, or glass. Nothing physically showed his distress, which had seemed to be growing worse and worse with every passing day. That voice also grew worse and worse, taunting him and clawing at his mind. Every day he went through it. He could tell he was starting to lose, that the voice was slowly convincing him. Strangly, whenever he was around Karena the voice died, or vanished. Or just never appeared. He was sick of it, felt tainted with it's vileness, but inside.... he knew that that vileness was him. His heart had been black and cold as ice afore, and even now it still seemed tinged with that cruelness, the cruelness and hatred that was him. Had been him.
For a moment, everything seemed to spin. He staggered a step slightly, still silent as death like he ahd been taught, and sighed when he regained his balance. 'Can I ever truely claim that I am nothing like my father, that Flash was the complete opposite of I? Did he not tell me that he started out soft, a Varg who was caring, had a mate and pups whom he cared dearly for? Then he turned into the vicious warrior he is, and his mate and pups were murdered in a slaughter, provided by Man. How can I ever say I am nothing like him? Does not his blood flow strongly through my veins?' Fear tinged that thought, and the feeling of sickness returned. Nothing felt right... Nothing anymore. Only Karena and Whirl. Being near them, being in their presence.
And through all of this, he sat there, regally straight, though it was pride not arrogance that held him that way, pride and honor. It always had been, and it always would be. He was not one to slink along the ground like dirt, yet he never placed himself higher then he was. Put simply, he was him, just rather prideful. But after all, he had been raised to be prideful, to do his pack good. He had been going to compete in the warriors battle, where the Alphas would place a son in a battle to test the packs strengths, and to see if they would be strong leaders. Then Man had ruined his life...
He cast the horrid memories aside, and watched the pup slumber, his gaze gentle. He loved pups, he loved them more then anything... except for his own pups and his mate. They melted his heart, and sometimes, although he was four an a half Summers or so, he still acted the pup around them. And there was nothing he could do to change that. His lop-sided wolven grin turned into a wolven smile, and he relaxed greatly.
(done. And if ya don't want to RP with me, I can just go I guess.. *stares* That's a better post then usual. Well... yeah. Hope you're in FD... I kinda want top meet a few of the other members.)
Xavier and Belle - April 3, 2005 03:41 PM (GMT)
// No, that's fine xD Everyone else is dead, so I might aswell reply xP //
(In the dream...)
Please, don't do it! I'm really sorry, I won't do it again. Her voice was shrill, pleading, full of fear. Small brown body, shivered, nearlly wetting herself.
No, you meant to do it. Stupid! I can't take you along. You're always there, bugging me, tagging along... No! I HATE YOU! Definitly a male's voice this time. He looked almost exactly like the small fae, except he was bigger, and right now, seething.
Tears in her eyes, she backed away. Please... Don't... She was barely finnished, and he lunged. Black claws outstreached, small baby teeth revealed. He lunged at the small fae cub, savagly ripping at her fur, coming out with tuffs at a time. She squealed in pain and fright, unable to keep the bigger pup off her.
Bling rage ran through him, making him sratch and bite harder, untill her pierced her skin. The small femme cried out, eyes rolling back, body going ridgid, then limp. The attacker, the brute, slowly backed away, his amber orbs wide with fright. He looked the smaller whelp over, shocked by what he had done. Big patches of hair were missing, and her body was covered in blood. She didn't move, the femme just layed there.
No... He whispered quietly, not wanting to belive it was him who had done it...
The scenery changed, the pair were no longer cubs. Male with darkend face, cold, hard amber eyes. Small, skinny brown femme, fully grown. She bolted, her persuer right behind her. He cursed as he ran, the brown femme not far behind him. She looked back, fear reflecting in her green orbs. As she turned back, she screamed; She ran into the open mouth of her persuer... Except he wasn't at normal size. He was giant, like a cavern, and his mouth like the opening.
No! She screamed, falling into a black pit of nothing-ness...
The cub woke up, back to the brute. Presperation rolled down her tongue, and her body quivered. No... She repeated, whispering to herself. She lay there, panting and quivering, trying to forget about her nightmare, too shaken up to sniff around, or turn to the side.
Flare - April 3, 2005 08:18 PM (GMT)
Flare tilted his crania, and worry shone in his orbs. The pup had started to sweat, and something didn't quite seem right. His tassel stopped it's idle flickering, and slowly he edged clsoer, not wanting to scare the living daylights out of the poor pup, he remained silent.
seeing her awaken, he slowly reclined back 'pon his haunches again. "Are yee alright mi'lady? Ya seem ta be scared." He paused for a moment, his smooth voice halting. His auds flickered for a moment. Why don't you kill her? Put an end to her fear? There it was again... that flaming voice! 'Just leave me alone! I am not a pup killer, I don't kill my own kind if it's not completly needed!' For a moment, his smooth features contorted with fury. And frustration. why could he not be left ALONE? Sighing, he pushed the voice away, and focused on the current.
"I am sorry for scaring ye if I may've. But I am dubbed Flare. May I be so graced by yer name mi'lady?" He made his voice soft, soft and hopefully comforting. He remembered his own nightmares... only there had been no one to help, and he had had them based on the reality of events that had happened... including his packs slaughter.
(sorreh it's so short... *frowns*)
Xavier and Belle - April 3, 2005 09:26 PM (GMT)
// Meh... It's okay, my first post -=points to the top=- wasn't any better... It was worse o_o Hehe! Flare sounds like a skitso x)//
The startled pup was on her paws in an instant. Realising he was talking to her, she hasilly replied. Yes... Yes... It was justa bad dreem. Justa really bad dreem. If her fur could change colors, her cheeks would have been bright red, flushed with emarassment. I'm okay. She repeated once again, trying not to reasure the brute, but herself.
Still, she backed up, banner lowered, and auds pulled back, her stance hesitant. Flare... Head down, she repleated his name under her breath, trying to recall if she had ever seen him. As her vain searching came to an end, she finally replied, Belle. I'm Belle. All through out this, her voice never shook, athough her stance plainly said she was cautious. His voice was somewhat comforting, but she refused to let her guard down, refused to let herself calm down.
Flare - April 3, 2005 09:43 PM (GMT)
(a skitso? Well... ermm he used to be calm and all... but now he's slowly going insane if you've noticed. The bold italics are his thoughts, and the italics I think are the 'voice'. It represents memories of his dead father... Don't worry about short posts... lol, I've been doing better then usual of late actually... one or two bad posts don't matter TO much...)
Flare grinned slightly, flourishing her a quick bow. His tassel flicked back and forth, and his energy seemed to ripple again, sending shivers up his spine. He nodded, a slight tinge of pain appearing in his gaze. "Ahh, the dreaded nightmares. Aye, they are nay fun... I meself have had too many... to make me wake up howling in agony and fear and sorrow." his voice was soft, almost dangerous as he remembered them. but then again, he had once been a feared warrior, his last name changed to Flare DeathDancer. But he despised that name. Fighting had been needed, and he had hated it with a burning passion. Now he could be rid of it for awhile, if not forever. "'Tis a good thing to know yer alright. Some nightmares can shake a Varg so badly that they remain in that state for a good few days... 'tis vicious." He sighed. Too many...
He grinned again, a warm grin. Slowly he lay down, not wanting to present a threat in any way, and trying to reassure her that he'd not try and hurt her. "'Tis a pleasure to meet yee my'lady Belle. I am graced to have met yee..." He kept his voice smooth and warm. It was a deep baritone, and to some it seemed comforting. He dipped his crania to touch the ground.
'She seems nice enough... but oi, even pups can be mean... my own pup Dust has taught me...' He felt pain streak his features again, and he looked away for a moment, orbs distant. If your own pup hates you, who's next? Your mate? The pack? Wild? the whole of northern Boundaries? The voice sneered every word at him, and each word bit into him. 'Just leave me alone!' He seemed to scream inside of his head, and it rang out in his auds. He blinked. Had he said anything aloud? a muffled growl escaped him out of his frustration. "I'm sorreh... It's just... I guess yee can call it home sickness... I miss meh home, and this land is very different." He shook his crania. It must sound weird for a pup to hear an adult apologizing to them for nothing. 'Curse it! What am I doing? 'Tis all gibberish that I'm speaking! Oh Flash, what has happened to me?' He had changed... and every day it grew worse. The voice seemed much crueler then it had yesterday, seemed to arise much more then it had yesterday.
Xavier and Belle - April 3, 2005 10:21 PM (GMT)
(Skitsofratic or however you spell it... I'm to lazy ot go look it up >> Yeah, I've figured xP)
It's not really a nightmare... It's kinda true... It happened. She said, confusing herself as it went. It was true, all up untill she had found herself grown up, and fell into the bottomless pit. Belle shook her head, trying to rid herself of the tourblesome memories. She nodded, as the dark brute finnished, for the moment.
It was currious, because after, he went into a day dream of some sort. She watched him cring, as if something was torturing him, inside his head. With a finnaly growl, it was over in a few seconds. It's okay... She replied hastilly, not wanting to say something stupid. He was like that too... She said thoughtfully to herself.
Flare - April 4, 2005 11:13 PM (GMT)
Flare blinked slightly, and his tassel frisked out behind him. 'Kiind of true? could she mean like...' His thoughts felt slightly hazed, and he cleared his crania with a brisk shake of it. "Ahh... I think I may understand..." A look of pain crossed his gaze as the memories fought his will, unrelenting. He stiffled a snarl as his hackels rose, the memories of the fires that seared his vision leaving powerful imprints, and the stench of death and blood. The sounds of howling Varg, crying out their fury and pain, the sounds of the Two-Legs Teeth of Steel and their giant monsters that they would put the Varg into.
He shook his crania slightly, snapping back, his orbs flashing as he pulled himself away from the past painfully. "That is good to hear. I mean to hear that you are good." His voice was soft, and he held a gentle look in his gaze, trying to make up for his little outburst. "and I'm sorreh if I've scared ye by that... I... the memories arose and they were vivid as the grass 'front of meh nose..." He sighed, sorrow hazing his gaze.
Xavier and Belle - April 5, 2005 10:34 PM (GMT)
Belle nodded, thin fur on her cranium soft but naturally bristled. It's okay... Just that, when I'm dreemin' it takes a while for me to get back... Uh, to stop dreemin'. She said, her sentance oddly formed. Although it wasn't all too unusual for a pup to do so, she also slurred her words, so they came out slightly deformed.
She stood there, and remained silent, unsure of what to say. She knew nothing interesting, 'nor anything recent.
//Can't think of nothing else to say.... x_o //
Flare - April 20, 2005 09:14 PM (GMT)
Flare nodded, and squinted his orbs slightly. He could hear a faint reverbration of the cursed voice.
He nodded. "ah. I understand that too. Often times, I'll be lost in my memory... and sadly, I sometimes forget that it's over... that the heckish times have ended, and that I no longer have to do what I did." His voice was smooth, and friendly.
He frisked his tassel for a moment, thinking. "Tell me... do yee like stories liul' one?" His voice was smooth, and he grinned to her, orbs like gems. Glittering with every ray of light that touched 'em.
He still felt younger then he was... a few years younger. He remembered how he had gotten the whole in his left aud, remembered the searing pain of the bullet two yeards ago when he had saved Wild... so much had happened, so much had changed.
(gtg.. sorry it's so short)(sorry it took so long)
Xavier and Belle - April 21, 2005 02:26 AM (GMT)
The fatale bobbled her head, enthusiastically. Like any other pup, she loved to listen to stories. The way it was like a play with words, how you could make things live, with sounds that came from your mouth.
I'r do like stories! 'Er maw split into a wide grin. Once she got into it, she could be quite a chatter box.
'Re you gonna tell me one? She asked, nearly bouncing. Her tail thumped the ground, her big green, long lashed eyes sparkling with excitment.
//Rawr oO; I've gotta get off for the night >< Urm, yeah. I'll add more later.
Flare - April 21, 2005 10:59 PM (GMT)
Flare grinned, his orbs twinkling slightly, mirth stretching his maw into a grin. Ah, how he loved to tell stories. His auds twitched atop his crania. Tell her about all of your battles, wow the pup with stories of battle, sand stained red with blood, the Gods turning away from you, your packs slaughter... telll her it all in full detail. Then see how much of a monster she thinks you are... Snarling in his mind, Flare returned the comment with one of his own. 'Ahh, for the sake of the Heavens, and the Gods that reside there, all of them, Just leave me alone yee hell sakened voice!' He sighed, and thought for a moment.
"I shall let yee chose the topic. Would yee like to hear 'bout the Desert, the Gods, the adventure of a young Varg, or such. If I know a tale or something along the lines of it, you can suggest it, and I'll let yee know if I know it. Soo.. what do yee want to hear about?" He grinned, remembering the last time he told a story. It had been so long, he could barely remember. He flashed ehr a wuick smile, his ivories shining. Then, he lowered his hackels, his wolven smile done, he reclined back again, his powerful haunches tensed slightly, as he painted the pictures in his own mind so he's be able to better explain it, recalling back everything. Every detail.
(ahh.... so short...O_o)
