Tail-tag? What was that? They didn't have it in the north, that was for sure. They had rabbit and the wolf, where one wolf pretended to be a rabbit and the others chased him and niped their tail, thus becoming the "Rabbit" themselves. He wondered if this was the same, and without further knowledge, chased after her, running top notch, which was fast, seeing as he came from and nomadic north, also known as "The Fighting Lands". He didn't really know as to tag her tail with his, or nip it. So, he just ran at her for now.

Alkiva yiped happily and sped off, flying through the woods, abandoning all her thoughts. She occasionally looked over her shoulder to see him speeding after her. She laughed as she flew over a fallen log- she'd been known to trip over them in the past when running, and tumble monumentally to the ground. In that way, she couldn't wait for the winter- then there would be soft, fluffy snow to land in, though she utterly despised having a faceplant into cold, wet, white snow flurries.

She saw him gaining on her, and began to slow down, so he could have a chance to tag her. Between her breaths, she yelled "In order to not be it, you just have to tag the tip of my tail, with your paw, snout, anything. Good luck!" With that, she swerved left, almost toppling over. But her powerful legs, pumping like automatic pistons, held her ground and turned her in the other direction. Tail waving in wild circles behind her, she lept forward, wondering if he'd managed the turn. Looking back over her white splashed shoulder, she tried to see him.

CRASH!!!THUD!!!. The two sounds she made as she first blundered through a bush, then tripped over her own feet. Scrambling to her feet, unhurt but donning a crown of twigs and dried leaves, she got up and ran again, hoping it hadn't slowed her that much. A wide smile upon her maw, she looked back over her shoulder- quicker this time, and realized he was gaining.

Heh heh heh. The three year winner in the anual Northern WinterTime meet at the sprint pumped his legs like a water pump, speading along at a high rate of speed. He lept forward with just enough momentum to tag her tail with his, and go sailing into a tree.

Why did he always run into things? He picked himself up, and got off to a wobbily half drunken run, speeding away from the now it Alkiva. He watched where he was going this time. He didn't want to damage his brain anymore then possible.

He was going at a fast looping run, moving swiftly and carefully through the forest, keeping just out of reach of Alkiva. His legs pumped up and down, easily sending him to a good, easily controlable speed. He liked the game of Tail-tag. He had never heard of it before, though it was odly enough like Rabbit and the Wolf, though in Tail-tag you only had to have two, where in Rabbit AndThe Wolf you needed atleast a whole pack. And he liked tail-tag. He was good at it too. He was fast, agile (only when he's looking) and easy on his feet (again, only when he's looking where he's going). He lept back over the log Alkiva had hurtled earlier, careening off to the left, and circling back around the log.

(ooc: i know, I was intending just to edit this one when I came back to save room and tel you i had to go and i deleted the OOC one liners as well:) )

Ic: Alkiva felt a slight thouch at the tip of her tail, and turned around in just enough to see Brokefang, paw outstretched, fly with a resounding thuhd into a tree. Thrusting her limbs in front of her, she stopped, and darted after him as he took off in the other direction, obviously quite alright. She watched him as he zipped through the woods, obviously quite used to terrain like this.

Hunkering down so her bodice was close to the ground, she sped forward, picking up a new gear. This was the characteristic ruun of a predator. Maw slightly agape, she slid forward at an alarming rate, every movement precise. She lept over the log, giving herself no more than an inch under her belly- she couldn't waste time in the air. Leaning hard to the left, she cut a tight corner, and resumed her chase. There was a look of seriousness on her face, but a playfullness in her eyes. She used her tactics well. When she had him in front of her, she stopped this slinking, and shot forward into a full run.

Her flag was in a high position, waving back and forth, ready to aid her balance should he turn again. She was ready to use anything to her advantage. And she saw her advantage just up ahead. A large boulder, slanting upwards. She could not see what was on the other side, but did not care, frankly. Taking three great strides to prepare for the ascention, she leapt up the boulder, and flew off the other side. She fell a good few feet, and landed, with a slight grunt, running. It had been a great aid. She caught up to him quickly, but did not tag him. Between pants, she called frrom his side "There be'st a stream, straight this way- race you!" With that, she lowered herself to the ground, and, giving a loud bark of excitement, darted off ahead.

It was his turn to trun on the speed. Hunkering down, tail completely outstretched, he began his fomous killing sprint. Shooting off like a bobcat( which can go REAAALY fast) He passed her with ease, belly scratching and rubbing the ground as he barely lifted his feet in flight. Dogding left, then right around trees, he shot out of the forest and kept going, sailing into the stream. "Bloody e'll!!" He shouted as he his the cold water, belly burn Turning his stomach bright red and bruning hot. He danced around in the water, screaming and shouting at the coldness of it and the burning of his belly.

((I HATE FRACTURES!!

Seeing him sprint ahead, she too lowered her bodice to the ground, and sped along, each pawstep precise. Her orbs were narrowed into slits, as she looked only straight ahead. Her tail she used to balance herself as she weaved around trees, making the tightest turns she possibly could, missing the trees by bare inches. She shied away from an unexpected bush once, but quickly regained her speed, gaining a spot at Brokefang's side. Her salmon tongue lolled out the side of her mouth as they raced side by side to the stream.

She knew it was there, but didn't let herself slow down- not a bit. Instead, she too went careening into the water, prancing as the water splashed her vulnerable belly. She squealed as Brokefang's thrashings created waves, then began laughing, and splashing about as well. Her mahogany coat was thick, but the cold autumn water went right through after running about in it.

She jumped with giant leaps about in the water, sending small tidal waves rippling in every direction. The more she moved, the less the water came as a shock to her. She thoroughly enjoyed the water, even this time of year. It was cold, but after running, it was almost inviting. She stood still for a moment, lowering her head to get a drink. It hit her stomach like a kick in the guts, so she paused, and grimaced as she felt reverbrations of cold ripple through her body. When the initial shock was gone, she lowered her head, and drank her fill.

Knowing better than to stay in the water, she jumped out, and shook herself, sending silver droplets in every direction. Turning back to Brokefang, she laughed at the pained expression on his face and called to him.

"Brokefang ye silly oaf! Comeon out before you freeze your paws off!"

He scowled at her And crawled out of the water, finnaly cooling down enough. "Well, at least I got my exorcise out of the way for today." He said sullenly, laying on his back and looking at his bright red belly. He had liked that little jaunt through the forest, the game, and well, to put it simply, he liked her too. And seeing as he was new to this place, he did not know if she was taken or not, he only knew that she was in the wrong pack for him to be her mate. But still, he had enjoyed her company most out of the running and gameplaying and merriment. He layed down normal, satisfyed that his stomache was fine, and lay there, panting and gasping for breath.

( I would of writtin more, but my wrist has been messed with by my cousins, so it hurts incredibally right now.

(OOC: tis ok, no need to be stressin your joints. I myself have bad joint problems, so I know how ya feel. Lol, and I have also fractured/broken limbs b4, so u have my sympathy)

IC: Alkiva chuckled slightly, seeing his bright red belly, and she too, after shaking the droplets of moisture from her coat, flopped down on the ground. She lay there for a moment, panting, a silly expression on her face. Her mouth hung open, and her tongue lolled forth. With a slight groan, she rolled to her stomach, and began to lick her paws dry. Looking down at her normally white ruff, she realized that by laying in the reddish sand after jumping in a stream......well, now she looked totally red. Normally, she would have simply shaken the sand from her fur, but she was wet, and now somewhat muddy.

She stood up, and stretched her limbs- she would be sore tomorrow! She felt a slight soreness already in her right shoulder, on which she had prevously fallen. She rotated her shoulder, trying to limber it up so it would not be too sore. Looking down once more at her muddy coat, she gave a mischevious grin to Brokefang, then headed back to the stream. The only way to get the mud off was with water.

A gasp escaped her throat as she waded in, quite hesitant this time. Closing her eyes and gritting her teeth, she quickly flopped in the water, rolled about, then jumped out, shoulders hunched with cold. Walking away from Brokefang, who was beginning to dry, she shook herself, and sat down this time on a nice bed of grass.

He looked at his own pelt. Half was on grass, the other on the earthy red dirt. He didn't really care though, he'll get rid of it later. Right now he was resting from that nice little run and swimming. Well, at least now he didn't have to exorcise. Heck, he had probly done about two days worth of exorcising right there. So, for now, he was just gona stretch out in the sun and maybe take a nap. At least do SOMTHING to get his energy back. Yes, he had definatly liked today. But, night was coming up fast, and he did need to find a place to stay for the night. But, he'll do that later, didn't I just say he was resting?

Alkiva's eyes drooped contentedly as she too felt herself tiring, after the run and 'swim.' Her fur was now close to being dry, so she was no longer cold. The breeze was gentle, but for once, it was almost warm. It ruffled her damp coat, making her hair go a bit wavy, as wet hair will. She laid her head on her paws, took a quick glance over to Brokefang, then let her eyes shut.

She was asleep fast, totally comfortable. She dreamed softly first, seeing only a few faces and familiar scenery. She saw Carbion, his silver eyes. They were back at Wanderer lake, the day thet'd met. She then saw herself, and watched the scene all over again, her heart glowing.

Then, she was at the hunt she, Ray, Carbion and Siel had gone on. She twitched, remembering how the doe had kicked, just releiving her of some fur off her shoulder. Ah, but did it ever taste good. They ate it at the songtelling meeting. She watcheed as Carbion, Wild, Dachte, Vash, and the others sang and told their tales. Then Mika came, telling them of the rebels. She saw Carbion leave with Siel and Ray, as they went to fight. But this time, she went too.

They were there. grinning, their bloodstained teeth stuck out. Bloodthirsty creatures! Then, the group of rebels parted. From amidst them, strode a familiar figure, towering above the others. Pelt as red as blood, head lowered and auds flattened, she saw the face of her father. He opened his mouth, and came at her, but Carbion was there, defending her.

With a twitch, she awoke, and the groggy memories of her dreams faded away. She looked to Brokefang, who lay in a state between sleep and awakefullness. Had he slept while she had? A feeling in her stomach told her of a new emotion. Hunger. She lifted her head and scented the air, then looked back at Brokefang patiently. After he awoke fully, she'd propose a hunt.

Brokefangs half awake half asleep status was hard to maintain. He sat there, struggeling to keep awake for saftey's sake and wanting to fall asleep because he was dead tired. And in the middle of this war of self, the memory came back. Soot and blood once more choked his throat, blood stained his head and mouth, half his own, the other half the humans. His shoulder burned. In his sleep state he looked at it to see a axe buried three inches into his shoulder, blood streaming from it. Dust and ash landed in his eyes, makeing them burn and sting. He heard cries for help, both in the wolven tounge and human. Only one thought raced through his mind. The pups. It was usless to try and rescue them, they had been in the forest with about twenty guardians. Wait, they might have a chance then. Second pirority, Hilana, his wife to be. He charged into the gathering point, and witnessed the slaughter of his intire pack there. Gorli, his warrior in lead. Borme, his border guard. Sath, a wolf he had loved as a sister and had grown up with, take a arrow through the head. And then Hilana. Tears came to his mortal selfs eyes as he witnessed her exocution once more. If only the soot wasn't in his through, he could of called out a warning, told her the man was behind her, told her to dogde the hammer that was ained for her head as she attack another raider. As the fatal blow struck, he awoke with a start, cold sweat drenching his fur, eyes wild and frantic. When he realized where he was, he calmed down.... Some. He noticed he was panting very heavily, and tried to stop himself.

Alkiva watched as Brokefang suddenly erupted from his slumber. He seemed quite rattled...a bad dream? Probably, by the looks of it. The wide eyed stare, heavy panting, tense posture. She arose and walked over to him, hoping to calm him a bit. She sat beside him, and began to talk in soothing words.

"There there, Brokefang, its alright, it was just a dream. It'll fade away, don't worry. There now, just take a few deep breaths. Dreams can't hurt you." She smiled. In her mind, a small, puplike voice said yes, mother. The way she used to when her mother said things like that. The way she would when she and Carbion had pups in the spring.

Then she stood, and began to stretch her limbs. She arched her back, stretching her forelimbs before her, rump in the air, then strode foreward with her forelegs until her body was stretched out, hind legs each taking their turn to stretch. She then shook herself, now quite limbered up. It felt good to be young! She was not looking foreward to having old, creaky bones, so she enjoyed youth while it lasted.

After taking a few steps foreward, she turned, and looked back to Brokefang. "Well, Brokefang, if you're rested enough, would you like to go for a hunt?" There was an unmistakable light in her eyes, as she mentally prepared herself. Wolves usually lose their prey more than gaining it, but perhaps today would be different.

He closed his eyes and did as she bade him. After takeing about seven breaths, he stood up, and nodded his head to her question. Hunting would be good for him. He trotted up beside her, trieing to get the dream out of his mind. He couldn't stand the memory of Hilana geting killed. He sighed, then shoock himself to rid the mud from his black and brown coat. He idin't bother for stretching, the running would do that enough for him.

(ooc: s'ok....this'll probably be kinda on the short side too, because I haven bad tendonitis in my wrists and it's a yucky day so they're quite sore also.)

IC: When she sensed Brokefang at her sided, she tensed, standing so still, she seemed not to be alive. Only her nares quivvered, as she scented the breeze. One aud flicked, once, twice. Her pupils narrowed, and she lowered her head as she trotted into the undergrowth. Her pace was quite quick, but she remained utterly silent. Her strides were fluid, and so she did not rise and fall with the normal trotting pace of a wolf, nay, she seemed to seep forewards, moving in a straight line like a dart.

Suddenly, she froze, one forepaw dangling useless in the air. Her eyes were wide open, her maw slightly agape as she inhaled sharply. Her nares quivvered once more, auds pricked so they stood completely erect on her head. She looked slightly to the right, and froze.

There they were. A small herd of deer. There must have been around 8 of them, 6 does, two growing fawns. Even on three feet, she held her balance perfectly, her senses honed in on the prey. She scanned each one with a critical eye. She eyed the two fawns first. Young, but enough for two wolves. The 6 does were all of great health, and would have been quite a task to take down. She knew Brokefang would understand this. She looked again at the two fawns. One was slightly larger, but strayed farther fro it's mother. You are bol, young one. Perhaps too bold, she thought. Th smaller one looked quite tense, and remained glued to his mother's side.

She turned her head ever so slightly, so she could look for Brokefang with her periforal vision, eyes still trained on the young buck. She gave a small nod of her head toward it. This one, she motioned. Flattening herself to the ground, she waited to speak with Brokefang, under the cover of the brushes, out of sight and heaing range of the deer.
