I hope it's okay to post this here.
I have started a fan fic about Jenn's Close To Home character Annabeth.
This is what I had written so far.

Annabeth Chase sat at her desk finishing up a report for her boss. She had really thrown herself into her work a lot more lately. Her life now pretty much revolved around her daughter Haley and her work. She left little room for romance. She had decided she didn't want it. Not after what had happened. The first guy she was attracted to after her husband Jack had died. Turned out to be a big fake. Sure he pretended to be helping her with the case. Acted like he was so caring. It was all a huge lie. One big lie. He was just covering his ass. He was in on it the whole time. He played her so well. Bringing her evidence like the cell phones...the truth was he was involved in the whole scam. He was afraid of getting caught so he pretended to care about her. He was the one who had taken her keys and the "planted" them in her house along with the creepy note. He knew where she lived so it was so easy for him. She wished she never trusted Matt. She should have known better. She felt like such a fool.
"You're not a fool Annabeth." Her boss James Conlon had told her.
"I feel like one." She had replied.
"It wasn't your fault. You had no way of knowing."
"I should have. I should have....why didn't I?"
"You're a kind and compassionate person. You had no reason to doubt anything. It's not your fault he played you. You didn't do anything wrong. You need to stop this. Snap out of it.
It's not good for you and certainly not good for Haley."
They had this conversation several times. He had even tried to convince her to start dating but she flat out refused. Part of the reason was Haley. She didn't want to bring men around unless she was certain of a future. Of course the problem she wasn't going to be certain about anyone ever again.
Annabeth looked at the clock and put down her pen. Conlon wanted to have a meeting with everyone.
She assumed it was about Maureen's replacement. Maureen. She sure missed her. She was a terrific friend and a great listener and gave great advice. Annabeth sure could use that great advice right about now. She stood up and straightened out her black skirt and matching black sweater.
Walking over to the door, she opened it and stepped out to hallway.
Her heels clicked in the floor as she headed towards the conference room. She then remembered she had wanted to look up a file for a case. She quick stopped into the fileroom and over to the cabinet. She opened it and began sorting through.
As she looked through the files, someone stood in the doorway.
Still so damn beautiful. He thought to himself as his eyes looked her over. Her tight black skirt that showed off her amazing legs. The way her sweater hugged the curves of her body.
"Hey beautiful." He greeted.
Annabeth was startled as she turned to see who was there and couldn't believe her eyes. "Josh?"
"Yeah." He smiled as he walked in. "Long time."
Annabeth nodded nervously as she shut the file cabinet. "Yeah it has been."
"You look great." said Josh.
"Thank you." She replied. "You look good too."
"I heard about Jack. I'm sorry."
"Thanks." Annabeth replied awkwardly. "So...what brings you here?"
"I'm going to be working here." answered Josh.
Annabeth swallowed. "Working here? You're.." Her voice trailed off.
"Yeah. I hope that's not a problem for you."
"No." said Annabeth. "It's not a problem. It's great." Annabeth stood there awkwardly. She didn't know was else to say. Conlon stopped and saw them there in the fileroom.
"Oh Annabeth...Good..I see you met Josh."
"Yeah...Um..will you excuse me for a minute?"
She quickly headed out of room and back to her office. She shut the door behind her forgetting about the meeting they were supposed to have. How could this happen?
She sat down in her chair putting her hands on the side of her head.
The door had opened and Conlon stood there. "Something wrong?" He asked concerned.
"It's nothing." She said.
"Then why did you run out?"
"It's nothing." She repeated. "I'm fine."
Conlon shut the door and walked over to her desk. "You want to tell me what's going on? It is about Josh?"
"It's complicated, okay?"
"How complicated?"
Annabeth sighed. "Okay I'll tell you...Josh and I....we were in love."
"In love?" said Conlon raising an eyebrow.
"We were together in law school. We were very serious."
"How serious?"
"I loved him. Very much. He meant the world to me...I thought we were going to end up together. Bu that changed."
"How?"
"I found out I was pregnant. I was so happy. Thrilled. And Josh...he was ecstatic. He proposed to me right after I told him. I said yes. I had never been so happy in my life. I had a wonderful man and a new baby on the way. We were getting married. Then..." Annabeth's voice began to crack. "It all came crashing down....." Tears began to form. "It all ended. I lost the baby..."
Conlon was astonished. He never knew that. She never mentioned it before.
"After my miscarriage....I went into a deep depression. I thought I wasn't good enough for Josh. I felt like a failure. I felt like I didn't deserve him. So I gave him up. I handed him his ring back. He told me that he didn't want to end it. He loved me and that we could have another child. He begged me not to eave him. He pleaded with me to stay. Told me he didn't blame me...but I...I didn't believe him. I didn't believe he would still want me...so I broke his heart. I left him. No matter what he said...I had made up my mind. It was over. The look on his face...He was crushed. I hurt him so bad. I thought I was doing the right thing. I never saw him again after that. It took me a long time to recover from it. A few years later is when I met Jack. I told him the story about my miscarriage. He helped me start to heal. We married and that's when we had Haley."
"Wow...I had no idea...I'm so sorry.."
"It's okay. I've learned to make my peace about it. But seeing Josh again..it just brings back the pain I caused him. I feel so horrible. I want him to know that I never meant to hurt him. I honestly thought I was doing the right thing. I never wanted to break his heart."
"But you did." said Conlon.
"Yeah." said Annabeth wiping away tears. "And there's nothing I can do about it."
