If i have a 1.1 Ghz computer processor and a Shit graphics card would i need to upgrade the graphics card or buy a new processor :S

I ran RF for about 2 1/2 years on a 900Mhz Celeron and still managed to play ok.

I ran it on a 550mhz with a tnt2/64mb graphix card for about the first 3 years, and l had a ball skipping and shit

ive got an 64bit amd 3500+. 1 gig ram, 128mb 6600gt....
I use the 600x800 resolution with settings on low.... (Simply because that is what im use to and didnt have a computer before this one that could run it on full res and high details)... Ive recently put it up to high details now though... kinda of weird playing it now though  --------------------  - ozrf Admin - Free hosting/clans/forums - Questions regarding OzRF FTP - ADSL2+ (Can provide RF Server at times) |

If you need to buy a new proccesor then you would need a new mother board too put in in ( as in socket connection 478 p4) or what ever you choose to select .PS hope i spellet that right!

This wholly depends on what games you are playing other than red faction... if you only want to play redfaction you should be right... however, those are specs that grant a fred flintstone era, and i personally would be looking to upgrade at least your video card.. ( i'm guessing that you have SiS graphics onboard or similar? )..
Also, it may be time you ran a few anti-spyware programs, and Hijack this to see what is exactly using up all of your computers resources.. I will help you with this if you want.. however try doing a system DEFRAG first.. REDFACTION, should run perfectly fine on your comp on these settings : Resolution : 640 x 480 framebuffer : 16Bit in the game settings - video TAB - Billinear, UNTICK all shadows/decals/dynamic lighting etc etc ... *turn the game music off Should run those settings fine --------------------

hi there. is redfaction to old for an acer aspire m1800 computer
with: intel core 2duo 4gb ram ati radeon hd 4350 ....... i have to play it on my lap top.... i know it may be a dead game but its fun to play every now and then?? |
