Dark Fang of the Doom Shadow pack inherited the position of Alpha at the death of his father. His reign over the pack was a good one, as he treated each deserving member with respect, but he almost always turned away strangers, not wanting to share the pack land with anyone but family. His brother, the pack Beta, disagreed. His brother thought Dark Fang was injust and should be more welcoming to the strangers who wished to join the pack. Eventually, Dark Fang heard enough and kicked his own brother out of the pack. That's when things went from bad to worse. Pack members did not aprove of Dark Fang shunning a family member, and so some of them left instead to follow the brother. However, each who left left with Dark Fang's claw marks branded across their muzzle. It was then Dark Fang learned the error of his ways. Slowly, he began to let wanderers enter into the pack, but it could not repair the family rift he had created. He now hated his brother with a hate that could only be rivaled by the hate the other pack held for him. And he was not ready to share the pack land with a bunch of traitors. So the war of the wolves started, so it lasts even until today.
