I've always been like that but now that I am an adult it's even worse. Charles is German for manly. To me, If you use any diminutive of the name then you diminish the meaning. Thus "less than manly". Not good. I also hate it because Charlie Brown, that american icon, was a total loser.

There are SIX of us at work. Only one is named Charlie. He's an older plumber and we call him Uncle Charlie. But I have never been around so many Charleses in my life. It is not uncommon but ya don't meet one every day.

My best friend is also Charles. We call each other Charles. WE know which one we mean. But it sometimes causes people to do a double take. It's funny when people meet us for the first time. Especially if Charles has been talking to a vendor and they call back with more information and they wind up with me. What really gives vendors a double take it when one of the Charleses is wanting a po and I call the vendor. "This is Charles, I have a po number for Charles."

Fun with words. Hehe. We used to call the Old Man (supervisor) the Supreme Brouhaha. His son now has the job. I like the son much better than the old man. Of course we was buddies for years when he was at the garage. But if you live in the South and the southern accent gets hold of you you tend to clip a lot of words. Up there becomes up 'ere. Pronounced up air. What's up air? That's air that is expelled from the body as down air but rises and assaults your nostrils. ([IMG]http://209.85.12.231/656/57/emo/Censored.gif[/IMG] hehe)
Over air is entirely different though.

What is it gets shortened to what's it. At which point the other person asks what's a zit. To which you reply it's that thing on your face that you pop. We haven't figured out what a zat is yet though. (What's that)

That's about aall I can think of. I havent' played that game in years.

Censored.gif? OOOHHHHHH I tried to use the common term for flatulence. Pass gas; break wind, etc. But it was text only and not a gif. Quirk of the board I suppose.
