Hey I am really intrigued by the concept of a pox deck. Building a deck on possibly the most disruptive card in the game seems fun. I have a few of the cards that go in a budget version of the deck (roughly half). I would try to make it but I am concerned the deck would just be crushed by everything. Some Comments would be appreciated. (being the cards that I have)

small pox 4 (0)
duress 4 (0)
Dark Ritual 4 (4)
ravens crime 1 (0)
Pox 4 (1) the one card that made me want to do it
Funeral charm 4 (0)
Hymm to Tourach 4 (4) I also like discard
The Rack 4 (4)
Innocent Blood 4 (3)

Chimeric idol 4 (2)
nether spirit 2 (0)
Swamp 21 obviously have enough swamps

I took this pretty much card for card off of a guide on MTG Salvation. I might be looking to buy or trade for some/all of these cards in the near future.

deck wants 4 Sinkhole, ~3 Tombstalker. 4 Thoughtseize. 4 Wasteland.

Maybe splash G, so 4 Bayou, 4 Tarmogoyf, 3 Pernicious Deed?

In my testing, the deck just randomly loses to itself, but it's far from half as bad as I expected it to be. The problem is that often you draw a disruption suite that just doesn't disrupt their plan enough and they get to draw their card each turn. A lot of the time you both have no lands and they have a threat.

Yeah Tombstalker and sinkholes would make the deck a lot better, although just about increases the total cost by a factor of 5. Tombstalkers aren't a bad price but sinkholes are a little expensive. I have one wasteland though. Thanks for the input that it least can work sometimes.

How much would reasonable be? I wouldn't be able to until I get my first paycheck though.

im sure we can work out a price or in trade...i have one beta, one unlimited, and one unlimited signed

as a point of reference starcity has them at:

Beta: $50 bucks

Unlimited: $40

Unlimited Signed: $42

I think this is high and we will probably go below this a decent amount

Thanks for your help, but the thing is, I kind of want to get into the pool a little slower. The original deck I posted would be a lot cheaper if i could find enough people that had the cards. Tombstalkers would also be a lot easier to acquire, to make the deck a bit better. Maybe sometime in the future though.

Life from the Loam seems like it'd be pretty sick. Maybe Bloodghast too?

Loam gives you cycle lands as a draw engine, fills up your hand with lands to discard to pox, and helps you recover from the namesake. You could use Entomb as extra copies of loam, or tutors for Wastelands and whatnot once you've got some loams set up.

Bloodghast would be a cool recursive beater that doesn't really cost anything. Chimeric Idol's kind of cool, but I'm not really sure which is better.

Sensei's Divining Top makes almost every deck better if you've got some number of fetchlands in it, especially if you're a little draw dependent.

Maybe a singleton Deathcloud? Just to up the redundancy a little more? Deathcloud is one of those cards that just blows people out once in awhile, especially since you've got the tools to rebuild from it while other people don't.
