So I'm finally going to put together an edh deck with the new yawgs bargain as the general but I was just curious what you guys think are staples for any mono black edh deck and how do you usually set up your curve distributions with cmcs and lands etc.

In fun decks I usually play like 35-40 lands, tons of artifacts, and mostly ignore my curve.
For Mikaeus there is a curve and I just tried to get so much cheap mana ramp to play Mikaeus as quickly as possible. This Grislebrand deck looks pretty scary. Monoblack staples are probably just all the broken black cards you can think of, tutors, necropotence, cabal coffers+urborg+deserted temple, and exsanguinate come to mind. |

yeah, this deck can definitely be built to win quite early reliably, im not sure if that is what you want though...

Card Advantage: Promise of Power Ambition's Cost Ancient Craving Phyrexian Arena Removal: Damnation Mutilate Death Cloud Tendrils of Corruption Barter in Blood Tutors: Beseech the Queen Vampiric Tutor Demonic Tutor Dimir House Guard (finds a lot of other cards on this list) Other: Exsanguinate/other Drain Life effects Infernal Darkness Sorin Markov Dread Mind Sludge Nirkana Revenant Colorless stuff: All Is Dust Oblivion Stone Nevinyrral's Disk Expedition Map Cabal Coffers Vesuva Maze of Ith Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth |
