I'm using a computer called an "emachine" and its not giving me any of the standard option in BIOS.
Here's the ONLY six options I see. Nothing else on screen except for instructions to move up and down with the arrow keys...

PO-WDC WD3200AAJS-22L7A0 (this option made it boot normal screen)

P1-HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH40F (gave me a crazy flashing screen saying to please enter the correct location)

Generic-Compact (this option made it boot normal screen)

Generic-SM/xD-Picture

Generic-SD/MMC

Generic-MS/MS-Pro/HG

Generic-SD/MMC/MS/MSPRO

I didn't try the last four options because at this time, I had turned the computer on and off atleast 10 times and it was getting "angry" at me.
Please Help!

Hi,

In order to boot the CD version, you would need to put this above the one above it: P1-HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH40F
Thanks,

Dana

You would need to use the up and down keys like it said in the part you quoted. There's always instructions in the BIOS explaining how to make changes and save them. Usually F10 to Save.

Ok. I found the screen where you can change the BIOS priority. I changed it to what you said and pressed "save and exit".
After that, It went back to the crazy screen with text flashing two things.

1. Bad or Missing Command Interpreter:2

2. Please enter the correct location (for example C:\Command.com)

Once the screen starts flasing it doesn't stop. None of the keys or the mouse will do anything.

Now what?

For reference, I burned the cd on a TDK CD-R80 and I made sure that there were three files on it (2 were .pdf)

Hi,

It sounds like the computer isn't compatible with the regular reset program, or the optical disc drive (DVD/CD) isn't working correctly, which isn't likely but it depends on a couple of things.

Does it go directly to what you are describing first, or do you get the part where it gives you 5 seconds to decide whether or not you want to text or graphic version and then gives you the 2 options you stated?

I would probably try my Advanced CD first to see if it may just need the advanced drivers that disc has?? This will give me the most info once you try it that I can determine if there is in fact a drive issue. Like I said, I'm doubtful that's the issue, but trying another disc helps rule it out quickly.

The Advanced disc is located on the same page as the regular download, you just need to click the link to it where it states "Click HERE" for the Advanced CD.

Here's a direct link to it: http://password-reset.com/advanced_cd.php

If you can try that next, it should help get to the bottom of it the fastest.

Thanks,

Dana

Yes, it goes directly to the flashing screen and doesn't give me any options. I will download the advanced program on Monday and give it a shot. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Thanks

Hey,
The computer started to run the CD, but the screens that are supposed to come up, didn't.
It gave me four options, I can't remember word for word, but I tried them all, and nothing got me anywhere.
Two of the options brought me to a blue screen saying to check the computer for viruses and the other two brought me to the regular log-in screen.

Any ideas?

Hi,

Unfortunately, it's not compatible with your system.

Thanks,

Dana
