Personality: Ruby is an oddball. He is near-sighted and has glasses to correct this, but normally he's too vain to wear them. He likes beautiful Pokemon and competing in Pokemon contests. He is very multitalented, with sewing and knitting being in his wide range of talents. He prefers Pokemon Contests to Pokemon Battles.

Bio: Ruby has always had a rift with his father, who wanted him to pursue gym battles instead of contests. After years of fighting, he and his Mudkip (Zuzu) fled thier quiet home in Littleroot town for the other towns and their contests.

However, Ruby found very quickly that he didn't fit in to Hoenn's lifestyle. Ruby doesn't like big cities; in fact, he's afraid of them. Since most of the cities in Hoenn were fairly big, Ruby decided to leave Hoenn completely and travel to Sinnoh. He'd heard that Sinnoh was very big and had something for everyone.

How Did He Become Your Partner?: Ruby found right away that the city he made land in, Canalave, was big and scary. This led him to travel west to Jubilife, which was a bigger city than Canalave. Ruby was beginning to regret ever leaving home by the time Aaron and Sakaki found him. Aaron told ruby that smaller cities were not far away, and Ruby decided to join the two on their quest.
