Ah~ Of all the gay stuff going on in US soaps this summer, the story on One Life To Live has easily been my favorite so far...I even found myself getting a tinsy bit interested in some of the other storylines (only a little though, some of the people are just down right annoying/boring, or really old and not interesting to me XD).
Anyway, KISH~(that's the "couple name" they've been given haha) Scott Evans plays Oliver Fish (he's the younger brother of the actor Chris Evans), and Brett Claywell plays Kyle Lewis (he was on One Tree Hill which I've never watched, but apparently he was a well known/liked character).
Oliver Fish (usually called "Fish" by most people) is a police officer and so far in the closet he's already found all his Christmas presents, traveled through Narnia, and is currently floating down "de-Nile" river. In college Fish had an, I assume, very secret relationship with his frat brother Kyle Lewis, a current med school student who was caught up in a blackmail story for a while (he was doing the blackmailing). Kyle is still holding a torch for Fish even though they broke up back in their college days and Fish is an extreeeme closet case. Kyle on the other hand, doesn't seem to have any problem with people finding out he's gay. He doesn't go around shouting it from the rooftops, but so far when anyone's found out he's gay he's been totally fine with it. He's been subtly making remarks towards Fish each time he sees him to sort of rile him up and get him to finally admit to what/who he is, but it usually just leads to more denial from Fish. Fish is currently "dating" one of his room mates, Layla, who even at one point flat out asked Fish if he was gay lol. Of course he acted all offended and denied it. Layla almost immediately recanted and feels terrible now for even suggesting it...GIRL, TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS! :excited:
(Posted Image) Fish on a date with Layla...with Kyle leering on from the sidelines. That eye roll Kyle does after Fish kisses Layla is so lulzy XDD
(Posted Image) If that's the face he makes almost immediately after kissing a girl, really, I think that should be all the sign Layla needs to know the truth hahaha
The product of a very heated discussion in an alley behind a cafe... (Posted Image) Fish got all pissy because Kyle had talked about their past to this woman Roxy. She passed Fish as he came in the cafe and mentioned to him that he should give Kyle another chance because he's crazy about him. Fish was not amused. They went out into the alley to talk and Fish just went on denying denying denying until finally Kyle said: "It wasn't a 'bad experiment' Oliver! It meant something! We meant something! And I know you. I know you remember." ~KISS~ :sparkle: ...Then Fish's other room mate Cristian (who's mother owns the cafe) walks up. DUN DUN DUN. Of course Fish goes into total panic and says Kyle attacked him and has been stalking him. Cris totally doesn't buy it and keeps telling Fish it's okay if he's gay, it's no big deal, he just needs to be honest with Layla. Fish is all Whatever, I'm not gay!! and tells Kyle to leave him alone, then storms off. Cris asks—
Oops, I told myself I would refrain from recapping every little thing that happened XD. Ok. I'll stop here.

Those and the series. XD
What do you mean "the series"?? I genuinely have no idea what you're asking :soso: Do you mean, how I found out about it? Or what channel One Life To Live comes on? Or where I got the clips on YouTube? Or...??

How about all of them!
I was actually just curious how you come across these shows and whatnot.
LOL, ok!
The GAYS of DAYTIME blog(TGoD) is usually where I find about about the different shows. They talk about/post clips of gay storylines from soap operas all around the world. They have a forum as well - here - where you can see a lot of spoilers for the different shows, and find translations for some of the non-English clips that haven't been subtitled (most of them are subbed though). I also occasionally hear about a show at AfterElton.com before I see anything about it at TGoD, but it's rare.
One Life To Live comes on ABC, 2PM EST. I don't think Fish/Kyle show up this week until like Thursday or Friday? If I remember right...:soso:
There are a few different users posting clips for them on YouTube: bombayhighway - These tend to have the best picture/sound quality, in my opinion, so I usually watch the clips here if I missed them on TV.
final81 - They have a clip of the veeery fist scenes between Fish and Kyle that these other 2 channels don't have for some reason :soso:
anthonylangford - I usually only go here if bombayhighway doesn't have the clip up yet XD

Oh, wow. That's....a lot of sources. I really don't like soap operas....and I attempted watching a little of one of these, I'll give it another shot. Maybe it was just the video I watched? I dunno...
I guess I'm just spoiled and I like shows and movies that look like more effort was put into them and for some reason, I don't think soap operas show that? It's...complicated. o_o;;

^ lol, no, I totally get what you mean. But some of the European soaps have acting/scripts/sets that are like, 10 times better than the US stuff, and they seem so much more liberal with the swearing and nudity/sex XD haha. But then, some of them are just as cheesy as American soaps, but in an endearing cracky way more than...an annoying way? Most American soaps are just...so bad to me. I suffered through As The World Turns for the Luke/Noah ("Nuke") storyline, but I don't even bother anymore, I just can't put myself through it anymore XD. And I was mildly excited when The Young & The Restless was going to have not one, but two gay storylines, but alas, what started off as interesting and promising quickly flat lined and just became stupid/bad :sigh: I only check out the updates on Y&R now if I'm suuuper bored, or if the reviews of it seem funny enough to warrant see it with my own eyes. So far One Life To Live has been decent enough to hold my interest, and I think they're doing a decent job telling the Fish/Kyle story as far as script/acting goes, but we'll see how long they can keep it up.

^ Haha. I've often seen scenes from soap operas and I didn't like many of them at all.
But I do agree that the Europeans seem more liberal in what they present in their shows. I watch BBC America shows and I like them quite a lot, especially considering what goes on in the storylines/plots. So I guess their soaps might be better than the ones I've seen. *shrug*

^ Oooh, what shows do you watch on BBC America? I'm a total British TV junkie! XDD
I think part of my ability to at least somewhat tolerate crappy American soaps is because I've sat through some really GOD AWFUL indie movies, just because I wanted to know how they ended hahaha.

^ The ones I can think of right off the bat are some of the ones with Chef Ramsey (Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, etc...but it's some other show I don't remember the name of...D: ) and Being Human.
I think there's a couple other ones, but I really cannot, for the life of me, remember the names of them. x_x
I sat through some horrible movies as well, but I'm too spoiled to willingly make myself sit through more....lol.
