These sorts of things are only going to get worse as more naive people download infected files. :(

As a corollary to this ... what do you think of the new Windows Defender?

I don't know if I like it. Microsoft Antispy was better.

There isn't much ability to adjust settings and the updates aren't easy to track either. :shrug:

I agree I liked Microsoft Antipyware better however the newer removal code for more recent malware is only found in Windows Defender ect... Defender is designed obviously with the novice user in mind. It still is the only free one with real time protection. Unfortunately I do not think we have much say in it. I am just happy there is still adaware and spybot. :shrug:

So while I really don't like it and prefer Microsoft AntiSpyware I have no choice but to recommend it. Because it does do what it is supposed to just not how I would prefer it.
